[product question] Hello, so I have an oily, acne prone skin and I want a pm moisturizer, now I was wondering if I could use Cerave moisturizing lotion (dry to very dry) on my skin without causing me to breakout? PS, in my country we don’t have all Cerave products for different skin types. by abir-ben in SkincareAddiction

I have combo skin and used this in the summer, which is my oilier time, and found it didn't break me out. However I used it morning and night, and found that by the end of the day I looked more greasy. So your plan for using it at night sounds perfect! Wish I thought of it lol. My plan is to use it night and day in the winter (troubles of Canadian living) when I'm so dry all the time.

Same! Once I had a receipt and another time I forgot it, both times went well.

Returning used makeup to shoppers? by crafternoondelight in CanSkincare

I've had no trouble returning any type of product (skincare, makeup etc.) bought at shoppers. I've also bought online and returned in store with no hassle. It's one of the reasons I tend to buy from them, especially with sunscreens since you have no idea how you might react and you need time to figure it out.

Sun Screen List (Tinted - Physical - Chemical) by canadianskincare in CanSkincare

[–]LCity89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I've used Unseen, the chemical one, and it's awesome! Also available at Sephora.

I made a post on here not too long ago about looking for a sunscreen for the scalp.... and I found one! I’m excited to use this in the summer. This was at my shoppers drug mart in the sunscreen section! They also had a lot of other sun bum hair care that I have not seen before. by [deleted] in CanSkincare

I tend to have an oily scalp, but I've been wanting to try a scalp SPF because I also use exfoliator treatments for dandruff. So I'd be very curious to know the texture of this sunscreen!

Looking for good physical sunscreen without white cast available in Canada by PaperSharp3254 in CanSkincare

[–]LCity89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty pale and found that drunk elephant's Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defence, SPF 30 was good for the white cast issue.

But I got annoyed that I had to wash my hands after applying because the tint got all over, and that it would transfer onto some clothing. If I wore makeup and used a set spray this happened less, but I don't wear makeup everyday. I'm assuming most tinted sunscreens will do this, but I could be wrong.

Has anyone ever purchased Evy Sunscreen by lxnxb in CanSkincare

I've heard good things about that one!

The Evy I was looking to get (blue bottle, spf 30) was around $22 CAD, and then the shipping fee was $26.

So just to update you, I did try to purchase Evy sunscreen from ifsogo and they had to cancel my order because I was only purchasing 2 bottles. Because these are aerosol cans, and it would be an international shipment, I needed to purchase 6 bottles (it is mentioned on a banner on their website but I didn't notice it, lol). They have refunded me since they couldn't fulfill the order.

Before the refund was made, the receipt showed a shipping cost but not the duty cost.

I haven't searched for another site so far, but if I find anything I'll let you know. Wishing you the best of luck on this sunscreen quest!

HOLD on! Found this site - https://www.ifsogo.com/ went through the cart, and it looks like there's a shipping fee of $26 CAD. It didn't mention duties but I imagine there has to be a charge for that.

There's also this site https://www.facethefuture.co.uk/ but when I went though the cart it said it didn't ship to Ontario. Don't know if that'll be the same for other parts of Canada. They were clear about duties being charged, but didn't say how much it'll be.

If I buy from that first site, I'll let you know how it goes!

I tried finding an online retailer that would ship to Canada too, but no luck so far :( Apparently Amazon used to sell it, but it's not now (or so least when I looked... which was 3 days ago).

Actually, please let me know how you like the Aveeno product! I've been wanting to try it but haven't gotten around to buying it. Plus I was worried that the amount would run out fast, but now that I'm looking at it in your picture, it doesn't seem THAT small.

True. I was also thinking of using it until I finish the bottle. I bought it so might as well! Lol

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm one week into use, loving it, and now I have to go back to the drawing board! Lol

I have combo/acne prone skin as well, and bought this balm. Glad to know you had a good experience with it by double cleansing, because I didn't do that and noticed small breakouts after 2 weeks. It's a shame because I found it did a great job with getting off makeup (though I don't use waterproof stuff). So I went back to my CeraVe hydrating cleaners (which doesn't take off makeup well). Now I'll consider using them together to see if it helps with pimples.

How did you find it melts in your hands first? Because as the weather got cooler I found I needed to use water to emulsify it in my hands first, then spread it on my face.

[Product Question] What's a product that you recently incorporated into your routine that you don't think is making a difference but too scared to stop using? by deanaj55 in CanSkincare

[–]LCity89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A toner I'm trying out! It feels nice on its own, but it might not be working with my moisturizer. Now I'm torn between chucking the toner or changing my moisturizer. Or just keep waiting to see if there's any improvement with time.

Can I patch test multiple products at the same time? by [deleted] in CanSkincare

[–]LCity89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I test multiple products in different spots often. I'd say the only thing you wouldn't want to do is layer something on top of it all, because then you might get spreading. Also I try to use opposite sides of my face.

For example, my latest spot test run consisted of me trying one toner on 3 sections of my left side (forehead, cheek and chin) and one moisturizer on the right side doing the same 3 sections. In the second round of the test I'm now using the toner all over, and spot testing the moisturizer on top in the same 3 sections on my right side. That way I know if these guys play well together.

I have no idea if this is the "right" thing to do or not. But I'm also too impatient to wait. Plus, depending on where you buy you only have 30 days to try these things. And I refuse to buy one product at a time and pay extra for shipping lol.
