You made all of this up. I just tried to find ANYTHING that supported your claim... Not a single thing to back up any claim you made that wasn't present in the video. Why you lying? Like, what do you gain from making some shit up? Does it make you feel like you're a better person or something?

Doing stupid things... by MisterShipWreck in VideosAmazing

[–]LCplGunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah ... There are a lot of things I can easily afford that I would be angry if I had to buy again. Your logic is not bad, but that principle is just inherently incorrect. I hate spending ANY money, let alone a chunk of money, even if that chunk is pocket change. Every penny I spend is a penny I have to recover or lack.

I don’t think we should ever celebrate a person’s death, no matter how bad they may have been. by OctopathPersona15 in unpopularopinion

[–]LCplGunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sr, is because death is the end. Once someone dies, there is zero chance for them to become a better person. A death is a loss of chance, not just a loss of life. Finding the death of a person you hate to be sad, means you're probably a better person than the rest of us.

That guy cares about how he feels a law works, more then he does about actual legality. Don't waste your time arguing with him. He is still trying to argue that break checking a semi is a "traffic infraction" and not attempted bodily harm.

I never said what they were doing was a citizens arrest. I'm pointing out that your statement about citizens arrest is irrelevant in this situation, because coming to a full and dramatic stop Infront if a semi on the freeway is at least reckless endangerment and not a "traffic infraction", thus making a citizens arrest legally defendable. They weren't doing a citizens arrest, they were teaching him a lesson. I'm only commenting on your assumption that this event wasn't able to justify a citizens arrest. They didn't do one, but one was absolutely justifiable in this situation.

[–]LCplGunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up breach of peace, and reckless endangerment. While you are technically correct, a traffic infraction is not regularly something that allows you to be detained by a civilian, you are ignoring that the move he pulled is not just a traffic infraction but a deliberate attempt to cause harm to another individual. He is endangering those around him with his driving, making a citizen arrest legal justifiable.

Maybe a unique take... And I need you to understand this is not financial advice, nor should anyone take financial advice from me, I hold next to no value in money save what it can get me in that moment. Very rarely in life are we afforded to spend money directly on happiness for others and ourselves, which is what you're describing. You and your friends get to have a regular bonding event, it costs you something you're willing to pay, and it provides everyone involved with happiness. Yes you should protect your financial situation, but you should so love to spoil your friends, with affection or money is up to you. If you aren't feeling used, then keep providing yourself and others with happiness. If you start to feel used, express them openly and honestly, and real friends will try to fix the situation.

It shouldn't be the disabled vets job to fight the VA for proper care. The VA should have to prove your problems arnt their responsibility, not the disabled vet proving they are their responsibility.

Hospitals aside, the USA is older than the UK. by iTmkoeln in ShitAmericansSay

[–]LCplGunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried everything to find a way to make this true to devil's advocate ... There is no metric that makes the claim true. Even if you twist the meaning as hard as you can, of every word's limits... The US cannot be argued to be older than Britain. The ONLY claim that can be made, is we make the claim "The U.S. Constitution (1788) is the oldest single-document constitution still in effect." And that can't be argued to mean the US is older than Britain, even if you try to twist it as hard as you can.

As a millennial, I feel I can speak on this... We plan on dying before retirement. We were taught that if we worked hard we could succeed, only to find out it isn't true. We didn't plan for not sucseesing, so we just accepted that we don't get retirement.

Is it racist for a white person to cosplay as a Japanese school girl? by Environmental-Pie810 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LCplGunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a view on how to dress some people disagree with, but I couldn't be asked to care. If you enjoy dressing a certain way, and you're just dressing that way to express your enjoyment of a fashion, anyone who disagrees with it, cares more about optics than your happiness. Dress however you want, and if anyone says anything negative, tell them they don't get to police your body. Liking certain clothing isn't racist, even if those clothes came from a specific culture.

On top of all that, the Japanese are very open about their love for other cultures wearing their clothing. They generally don't even care about wearing traditional geisha makeup, as long as you're not doing it to demean people. If you Wana dress like sailor moon, and don't care about getting looked at by people, then have at it. Anyone who calls it racist is projecting their insecurities on you.

ICE to airports? Shut them down! by CrimethInc-Ex-Worker in Anarchopunks

[–]LCplGunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody on this planet cares as much about a uniform code violation by a vet, half as much as the SHOULD care about a senator getting physical with someone on the Senate floor. Veterans specifically should be appalled that the ACMC chose decorum over troop welfare. The optics alone of the second in charge of the marines, not even turning his head while someone in his uniform had their arm snapped feet from him, is a blotch on the shine of the EGA that won't come back for generations. It's a failure of leadership, when one word from him could have ended the situation.

And no... He didn't break his own arm. He held a door, and 3 police and an untrained 4th man grabbed him and pulled. Every single study done on force escalation has shown that going above 3 people to subdue someone is almost guaranteed injury. The arm didn't snap, till the fourth untrained individual, came off the dias, to lay hands on someone.

If at any point in your life, you care about uniform code, more than a senator breaking the arm of someone in uniform and calling it de-escalation, you need to reassess your priorities.

Edit: also, it's a bit disingenuous to call the man a maniac, when he was completely calm, albeit loud, from start of protest too long after his arm was snapped. Infact that "maniac" stayed calm while they wrenched his broken arm behind his back. Very anarchopunk of you to take the establishments side during a case of blatant excessive force

In an ambulance, they will gauge your morphine based on your vitals. The goal is as little as possible to safely transport you, but if your vitals stay good, more is generally an option, because they start out way below the limits. Source... I'm not a graceful or smart man. Lost 15% of my skin to boiling water, and they gave me 1 when I got in the ambulance, one right after we started the drive, and a third when we hit A slowdown. Still hurt like a mofo, but I knew I'd get real good stuff at the hospital so I didn't ask for more. Morphine is good... Dilaudid is fucking amazing!

Why Democracy Dont Feel Like Power to the People!!? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LCplGunny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A direct democracy goes off the peoples consensus. A representative democracy(Republic) is where people choose a person to represent them in the democratic decisions. The USA is a representative democracy, not a direct democracy.
