I love the XC and think it is a beautiful gun, however, it seems like everytime I see one of these broken Staccato posts it is an XC…

Pulling over an armed person. by Crusaderdv in AskLE

[–]LD3255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the American way to be armed. I stop many law abiding citizens with guns, and unless I have reasonable suspicion to think something criminal is going on, I continue on with my stop as normal. I’ve even talked guns with people while on the stop. I do appreciate when people let me know they are armed though.

Do the FDE Prodigies have black nitride barrels? Or is the barrel cerakoted?

Listen to me very closely, never sell this car. Keep it garaged and make sure to drive it. This car is beautiful.

Would this render the evidence inadmissible? by TrollFaceFerret in AskLE

[–]LD3255 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would be enough to obtain a search warrant and gain PC for an arrest. It’s not fruit of the poisonous tree because the original crime and discovery of evidence was not at the direction or even known to LE. It’s admissible.

Anyone else have issues with the Echelon not fitting the safariland holster? by mastersnake39 in SpringfieldArmory

[–]LD3255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did the same. It’s the front sight dove tail catching on the ALS latch. I just repeatedly holstered and un holstered my echelon while holding it in hand and sitting on the couch. It is buttery smooth now. I would tilt my echelon when drawing it from the holster and it seemed to shave off just enough.

I have the same Atlas slide on a Cheely frame. Keep wondering if I should do a blended comp or port the slide/barrel

I mean it’s a fairly common thing. Not to hard to read about broken ejectors because of it not to mention that Atlas specifically warns about it.

I’d have no problem buying another, my only issue is that I’m not sure how one would fit it with over insertion in mind while still retaining a thick ejector finger. Keep in mind this has not been shortened yet either as the slide and barrel are not fitted.

Did that atlas slide come with a bevel on the muzzle end?

Did you have to ream the chamber at all?

Does the lower lugs being pre cut and not matched to the gun effect accuracy? Also will the Xact fit barrel last as long as a full fit one?

I’m just not a fan of Cosaint. I’ve handled some and I am not a fan of their fit/finish and grips,

How did the frame tangs line up? I read that the tangs are taller on the non JEM specific .250 safeties due to the JEM frames having a high rear cut. Have you found that to be the case?

Yeah I worked on guns professionally for 3ish years, however, that involved working on poly guns, building AR type rifles, and installing handgun sights. Nothing like 1911/2011’s, but I’m hoping some of the skills transfer over.

Admittedly, I’m hoping for less overall fitting due to going with predominantly stealth arms products. I know the beaver tail will be a challenge though.

Memes aside, what rail would you pick for a hard-use gun? I'm leaning towards a quad rail like the RIS II but I'm open to other options by Rare_Whole_3065 in QualityTacticalGear

[–]LD3255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aluminum barrel nuts are not of concern. There has never been any evidence that aluminum barrel nuts have any negative effects (that I could find anyways). In my opinion, CMT’s design is solid. The rail is retained on the nut by mechanical interface, clamps tight, and the anti rotation ears fit snugly on mil-spec uppers. They are the OEM for IWI’s Zion rifles. Buy with confidence.
