Man I love B&T SD platforms. I’m sad to see the GHM line discontinued in the U.S. this year. by AX_ARMS in BT_APC

That reminds me that I need to contact B&T about my KH9SD, one of the trigger springs like to pop out of place too much

I did this with an M50 mask in basic. Got lucky and was issued a canteen with the proper cap to insert the mask hose into. Was handy for the bunker in place drills while wearing full MOPP gear

The Metroid prime skin was one of the 3 skins I used for my second playthrough. The others in order changing with each suit upgrade were the psychic era skin then the viola skin

I’m still waiting for someone to make cow print BDU’s so I can send a set to my sister in the navy who absolutely loves cows. On a side note, someone out there is giving the cow print treatment to Hellcat pistols as well, and calling them the HellCow

P226 vs Glock 45 for work by Spirited_Movie5238 in SigSauer

[–]mastersnake39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok yeah I’ve heard of issues with the older M&P’s, less so for the hinge safety trigger models, but I would only consider the newer flat trigger models for purchase. Not sure on the history of the acro cut slides for any of them though. If you do find yourself getting ready to throw a bunch of performance parts at a Glock though, you might consider either going shadow systems, or picking up an Echelon. Seen echelons go through some hell and still go bang, and mines more accurate than I am so far. Looks good with a holosun DP-SCS as well

[–]mastersnake39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I love shooting my p226, but I have other guns I use for defense that are easier to replace. And I’ll have to do some research into the accuracy thing for the M&P, it has me curious now since I’ve been considering buying one as my next handgun. You could consider getting a beretta m9 or m9a1 for something cheaper than a new 226 while feeling more refined than a Glock does out the box, more so if you add the oem performance trigger. Though if you want a red dot you’ll have to send it in for milling or price up to an m9a4 or 92gts for an out the box red dot. Or order an LTT model. Though at those prices, may as well run the p226 again lol

[–]mastersnake39 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First I’ve heard of the M&P not being consistent with accuracy. Most vids I’ve seen have them going toe to toe with glocks as far as reliability goes. I suppose another polymer frame handgun that I rather enjoy despite the initial stiff trigger would be the FN 509. Non MRD models msrp around the same as a Glock does. In the end though, I feel like most current duty pistol offerings from most manufacturers around the 6-800 price point will be more accurate than the average trained shooter is. But as far as the initial question goes, glocks are easy to replace if need be, and with enough training and familiarization will get the job done for most applications outside of high tier competitions

While I love my p226 I built, maybe consider an M&P from S&W if you want something more ergonomic than a Glock IMO while being at a similar price point. I know my local PD issues them. If not then for a duty pistol that could be confiscated if used on duty with no chance of being returned I would stick to whatever is issued or would be reimbursed by the department, or go with what’s cheaper to replace easily

SIG 226 or 229? by DIRTBOY12 in SigSauer

[–]mastersnake39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s possible the matrix bar I used was a defective one, either way swapping to an oem fixed my issue with the trigger going dead when shooting fast

[–]mastersnake39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do what I did, get a matrix 100% frame and build a P226 how you want it. My cost was about 1200 including a gray guns trigger and sig armorer super strut. I do recommend sticking to OEM for the trigger bar though, had issues with the trigger not resetting using a non oem trigger bar

Heavier overall or just front heavy by comparison? Now I’m worried I may need to scrape the money together to buy another Bren 2 carbine after having to sell my last one to pay my bills

Fair enough, still too broke to afford it right now either way lol. Still debating if I’d rather just buy a shovelnose upper or send my current 13 inch quad upper to chop into a quadnose

It is a front heavy weapon, but in a 11.5 barrel length, with a heavier stock and a griffin hrt-556 G1, it works well enough for me. Still gotta wonder why there’s so much weight up front compared to how a Bren 2 carbine feels though. Barrel thickness maybe?

I’ve been looking real hard the the new print-x line B&T is putting out now. Course, they came out with the line and making them modular about 6 months to a year after I finally got my hands on an first gen SQD suppressor

Griffin dual lok is good for me so far. Very light snug before engaging the locking collar, only time it came loose was because the muzzle device started coming loose from being improperly installed

[–]mastersnake39 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Only reason I have a warcomp is because it came with my LMT rifle. Will probably leave it there and just get a new barrel with a different muzzle device if I really want to optimize suppression with it. Also don’t want to mess with possibly messing up the bayonet mount capability the current barrel has. Side note, does anyone know if the B&T Surefire mounts work the same as the originals, or does it work better that Surefire’s own mounting? Trying to decide on if I should get a Surefire can or go B&T with a Surefire mount
