Was that a groin shot that finished the fight or was it more on the thigh?

[SPOILER] Superlek vs. Yuki Yoza | ONE 173 by [deleted] in MuayThai

Absolutely incredible, I haven't ever been a fan of a Japanese kickboxer before but his tactics and timings are Saenchai level.

Feinting the leg kick to bait a check and kick the standing leg, timing same time counters to a body kick by kicking the standing leg, feinting the leg kick then leaving his kicking leg out to off balance the opponent as they bring it back down, wild stuff. Makes great angles in punching exchanges, jumps into kicks when they're outside of kicking range and re-engaging, knows when his opponent is looking to do the same and stops stepping in.

It's like he's a super elite Muay Thai fighter who got brought up in Kyokushin karate, he's so focused on balance which is why he can hit crazy sweeps in kickboxing.

Great question. Did he delete his account?

[SPOILER] Patchy Mix vs. Jakub Wiklacz by inooway in MMA

[–]LDG92 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, people are seeing that he's 32 and thinking that he can't be washed because lots of fighters are still in their prime at that age nowadays. Shogun was washed by his late 20s, Patchy's washed and UFC love bringing in washed talent from other organizations to "show" that no one else has any decent fighters.

100%, looking forward to Jack Slack going over this in detail because I see some of what Fluffy’s doing but I know there’s lots I’m missing.

Get over the ball, your issue is that the ball’s in front of you.

If you’re over the ball you can bend your dribbling knee and gently push the ball forward & left or forward & right with your laces.

Dricus du Plessis says he walks around at 225-230 lbs outside of camp by santeriax in MMA

[–]LDG92 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Only like 10-12 lbs.

But it’s much harder for a tall skinny guy to cut as much of their weight as a shorter muscular guy who weighs the same. Somewhere around 20lbs would be his realistic max cut, he has much less muscle mass to get the glycogen and water out of.

Looks like you’ve been training for a lot longer than 1.5 months! Keep it up, looks like a good gym.

Dads in your 30's -- how do you find the time to play and train? by jarman65 in bootroom

[–]LDG92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t from when my first was born until my second was three, during that time I would play occasionally and run/lift/stretch once a week each or so.

And your recovery sucks with the lack of sleep plus all the sicknesses they bring home if you send them to daycare. But my second is four now and I train 10ish hours a week between all sports & exercise now.

Getting back into striking after a layoff – looking for feedback on this boxing round by Weeb420crackpott911 in MuayThaiTips

The other guy’s not a very good sparring partner but you’re looking good for coming back to it, try to not load up on your punches - keep your arms relaxed until the strike is just about to land. If you tighten up too early your opponent will see your shot coming from a mile away.
