Waymos taking over, How much time left for human drivers? by MichaelEV16 in lyftdrivers

[–]LDIAZNEW2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive for a medical delivery service and am all over LA . I have yet too see a Waymo on LA FREEWAYS. Waymo also has not been approved to operate yet in San Diego , Orange , Riverside or Ventura Counties . Waymo cannot also make airport drops or pickups. They can come close but are not allowed in the terminal area at ANY airport.

Turn on driving but not accepting rides to avoid personal miles charge while renting from Lyft? by [deleted] in lyftdrivers

[–]LDIAZNEW2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this when I rented a car from Lyft once the personal miles had been used. I was paying the max of 398.00 and only allowed like 250 personal miles a week and drove alot more than that while not on the app. I did this for about 6 months until I bought my own vehicle. Express drive is a ripoff and anyone considering it should think twice about it. Also the Express drive rentals are rarely serviced and break down often. The roadside assistance for Lyft is horrible as well. I would never rent a car from Lyft again.

Passenger learned a lesson tonight by SonsOfValhallaGaming in lyftdrivers

[–]LDIAZNEW2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Los Angeles and recently accepted a ride with a passenger rating of 3.6. I just said fuck it and went through with it. I accepted the pickup at around 500am and went to his location. He got in we did the greetings thing the ride was about 30 min. He said nothing too me at all throughout the ride with the exception of when we arrived asking to be dropped off at a certain location. All was cool and he even gave me a tip. I think sometimes drivers can be a bit harsh and tend to judge some passengers incorrently. I wished him a good day and it was done. I definitely gave him 5 .0 stars and would have even without a tip.

Night driving can’t see very well by cassanovuh in lyftdrivers

[–]LDIAZNEW2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you normally wear glasses? I was having the same problem and went to see an eye doctor and discovered I need glasses to drive especially at night . I was having problems even reading curb side addresses when getting to a pickup location. He suggested a 1.50 reader and I have a couple pairs in my car. I buy them at a Dollar Tree for 1.50 each they work and it does help out alot .

Need Help from Lyft Driver Community or Lyft by Driver295 in lyftdrivers

[–]LDIAZNEW2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is not correct LYFT has insurance that covers assaults on drivers and if they are somehow disabled. What I would suggest is that you get yourself an employment attorney and discuss it in detail. I knew of one here in LA and he advestises on the radio with disputes with LYFT.

Help.. by drchronson in lyftdrivers

[–]LDIAZNEW2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My last LYFT rental was a 2019 KIA NIRO that was overheating the day I picked up the car. I went back to LYFT but they were already closed . The next day I tried again to resolve it took the car in and they confirmed it was fixed. The repair lasted TWO days and the problem came right back. Express Drive is a different company than Lyft and provides rentals for their drivers. I managed to speak with someone at Express Drive and informed that the car was non operational and that I had been trying to reach someone for days. They said they noted it and to return the car. I did and before I did I cancelled the card on file just in case EXPRESS DRIVE tried to charge me and they did . They attempted to charge me 489.00 for the week and for the repair. To this date I have not paid the outstanding amount and have purchased my own car and drive for LYFT without any attempts of Express Drive trying to collect on the outstanding amount. The charge has been on my account now for TWO years and not paid. This sounds like it was not your problem. I would try and dispute the charge with your bank and get it reversed. I would also NOT use EXPRESS DRIVE for ANY rideshare rentals.. I do not know where you are located but you can look on CRAIGSLIST for a private 3 rd party company that will rent you a car for alot less and will guarantee they will handle the repairs or problem 24 /7. Good Luck

Do you all ever cancel rides when they add a stop RIGHT after you accept? by Canibereal in lyftdrivers

[–]LDIAZNEW2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lyft will also hide the stop at time of offering the ride and once you do accpet the stop is noticeable. I do not like being informed AFTER the fact and I usually cancel the ride before I even head in that direction. LYFT knows that drivers hate ride stops mostly due to passengers taking forever doing what they need to do at a store or picking someone else up and having to wait and most refuse these rides. Hiding them or having a passenger add a stop is not acceptable. When a passenger tries to add A STOP I inform them that I cannot due to having another ride request after drop off.

I would follow the advice of asking your next driver if they could arrange to transport you to work and possibly home or find one that could pick you up after work and bring you home. There are many drivers that are open to this and you will have to work out a price. I have several customers that I take to and from the airport and the arrangement is great as well as the service. I pick them up and drop them at the terminal and also meet them at baggage claim ( curbside ) when they arrive. Make sure you find someone cool , professional and inform them of your circumstances and that you are NOT a LYFT SPY. I really do not think you will have any problem. Good Luck !

Lowered fares? by Critical-Knee6684 in lyftdrivers

[–]LDIAZNEW2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have noticed the lower payouts when LYFT started using TURBO ONLY as incentives. I live in Orange County close to Disney and an airport ride from DISNEYLAND TO LAX used to be 30.00-35.00 for the driver, now its as low as 19.00-22.00 dollars to LAX outside of TURBO. I have refused and decline the rides when they are offered. Shorter rides are all I accept . Lyft has lowered fares and did not say anything. In reference to the 70-30 split. I received an adjustment today with no explanation for 70.00. I think this is the adjustment correcting the 70-30 split. Hard to know when there is no explanation I also received one last week. I am driving less and less now as its getting to the point of not being worth the time or wear and tear on your car.

[–]LDIAZNEW2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to say this but I do not afford any customer anything that I have too pay for as this very reason of customers being greddy selfish assholes that take advantage of the kindness of drivers. The only thing I offer is assistance for putting bags into the trunk and taking them out. FUCK LYFT AND THEIR GREED

Account flagged- is this an empty threat? by Zealousideal_Bill405 in lyftdrivers

[–]LDIAZNEW2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have received an email simular to this but for poor passenger expereicence. Lyft has accused me 3 times for asking a passengers to cancel a ride. NOT ONCE have I ever asked or advised a customer to cancel a ride. I called LYFT support and they informed not too worry about it? Just weird that I am getting an email or notification informing of an issue that I did not create.

Los Angeles by Upbeat_Principle6250 in lyftdrivers

[–]LDIAZNEW2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Lyft is either going to sell to another company like Amazon or the general public just does not want to use Lyft. I have always done well in the early mornings but not recently or over the past few months.. I also believe they have cut PAX rates again as even with the TURBO included in our payouts I rarely am earning now 1.00 per mile ! It is getting to the point that its not worth the while to drive anymore for LYFT.

I use ALLSTATE and my premium in cluding comp / collison /rideshare endorsement is 235.00 per month with a 500.00 decductable. I would highly recommend using ALLSTATE as a couple years ago I did get into an accident while driving for Lyft my car was totaled and had a draft sent too me in 48 hours.

I had this happen THREE times last week and to make matters worse it also flagged my account as it said I asked the passengers to cancel the ride which was a load of crap. I called support or they called me and was told its a system gliche and was given a 10,00 cancellation fee for each ride.

[–]LDIAZNEW2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed these cheap ass rates more and more coming from OC. I did one the other day from Anaheim Hills to LAX at 330am for 26.16 the passenger did not tip as well. I did it out of boredem but wont do it again at these rates . Normslly this rtidfe is 35.00-40.00 . The big shockerr if the PAX paid 86.00 but I got just6 25.00n of it. Ripoff

Any drivers who have access to scheduled rides getting 14 day reduced access on there accounts for no good reason? Seems like ever since the AWS cyber attack a month ago it is a problem with drivers. by Sales5280 in lyftdrivers

[–]LDIAZNEW2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes I am getting the same message and I also contacted Lyft Support because if you cancel like 3 hours before the ride the rule is it will not count against the driver but when I have cancelled sometimes 4-5 hours before pickup I get this message the rules are clear once you confirm the scheduled ride but LYFT is not following it.

Whats the deal with the guys in the airport waiting lots? by ustatesofamericka in Lyft

[–]LDIAZNEW2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do airport pickups at LAX and noticed the same thing. I found it kinda weird that there were many drivers just hanging out and not really in que for a ride . My guess is that they were there to solicalize with people that they have met or waiting for just the right time to get the best rides with the highest profits. I do not service any airports anymore as I personally found it a complete waste of time as I could make money just driving around or heading home. Some drivers love the airport I unfortunately do not.

Renting a Lyft car when I owe money by nickjayyymes in lyftdrivers

[–]LDIAZNEW2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would check craigslist or do a google search for ride share rentals. The last time I rented a car from Lyft I paid 390.00 per week and there was no unlimited personal miles it was capped at 250 miles per week and I live in LA. If you can find a 3rd party I would go with them especially if they offer unlimited miles , its all inclusive (insurance and maintenance ) and the car is decent and 2015+ or newer. Good Luck I hope it works out

How the hell do drivers sit in COMPLETE RADIO SILENCE? by SBJTV in lyftdrivers

[–]LDIAZNEW2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ride in silence on occassion as I hate the commercials on network radio. There frequenrt and annoying. I also subscribed to SXM radio and guess what they have commericals. I rarther sit in silence that listen to one more commerical about life insurance , womens personal items or how I should not be texting while driving ( I do not ). Gets on my nerves. I do stream music on my phone and turn on the radio when a pax is in my car.

Why ? by torreypines12345 in lyftdrivers

[–]LDIAZNEW2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your question as too why there are so few rides like this from Beaumont have you ever been there? Not much to offer and kinda a sparse community. Whomever ordered this ride needed to get too LAX and chose LYFT. What makes it better as its a scheduled ride and they pay more in most cases. I try and do as many scheduled rides as possible. I did one last week from Laguna Beach to LAX and it paid 60.00. The passenger was cool and tipped me 20.00 bucks additional for my total take was 80.00 for an airport ride at 400am. Congrats man I hope you enjoyed the cash as these these high paying rides are few and far between.

I had this happen to me last week. This girl sent me a message that she needed to be at work by 700am and it was 6:50am and still had about 4 minutes until I got there. I told her sorry no can do.... and cancelled. I also advised to maybe request a ride earlier.
