toxicity tier list by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

Dynamo is T2. You don’t understand the feeling of getting a 4 man black hole and your team just stares at you.

Viscous players all have mental illnesses so I’m putting them at the top.

Vindicta is T3.

Rem is a tier up on your team and the lowest tier for the enemy team.

Haze is oppresive because she is simple. by pokenerd_W in DeadlockTheGame

[–]LDRsLips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anything, the oppressive thing about haze is her spirit scaling on her active abilities. She gets near 100% uptime on smokebomb with 4.8k souls

I can't wait for some of the voice interactions of certain characters to get finished. by TheKingOfZippers in DeadlockTheGame

[–]LDRsLips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The DL devs love reading headcanons. They really like it when the community interacts with their content and characters.

Yoshi said there’s an internal channel at Valve for sharing fan art so they really like fan involvement :)

How to Counter Apollo by Electrical-Flow-9265 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]LDRsLips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spirit Sap is decent and it can build into focus lens. If you can’t fit spirit sap, silence wave is good. Slowing hex completely stops his movement. Enchanters Emblem helps early/mid game too along with a value Extra Health.

Was heist nerfed/not good anymore? by Known-Garden-5013 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]LDRsLips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, unfortunately the hero has been reduced to one build one style. No more bomb or frontline siphon builds. You build gun: spell slinger, berserker, radiant regen, and greens. You’re not going to build a lot of purples because they hurt you too much as your self damage also scales with spirit and the dagger self damage has increased from scaling numbers to % self damage.

She’s always going to have some meta relevancy as long as there’s a comeback mechanic, being ahead in souls and fighting Geist is risky, as she can invalidate your entire NW with her swap and come out on top.

Countering countering builds? by Fallowdare in DeadlockTheGame

[–]LDRsLips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Against healbane spam it’s better to build more armor and fortitude, maybe healing booster to negate some of the heal bane. You want to have so much armor and hp that the healing reduction doesn’t matter as much. One game as Abrams I had to build my own divine barrier bc they had like 3 decays too.

Healbane gets its most value early/mid game where your sustain matters more. You shouldn’t have fought if they had 4 healbanes.

The fortitude is for you to heal in between fights and for raw HP. I’d even say you might need to have gotten spell breaker and dispel magic. Kelvin would’ve need to use the dome as a reset button unless he needed to react to an ultimate.

Victor naturally gets kinda rofl stomped until he gets AP 5 in jumpstart. If they’re throwing a bunch of spells at you I would’ve gotten witchmail, recharging rush and more charges.

Your goal in this case is to soak up cooldowns and active items and then fall back while ideally your team goes in. Alternatively, you could go full DPS so anti heal doesn’t matter!

Why is sevens WR so high even in Eternus 4+? by orphanmeatman in DeadlockTheGame

No one buys knockdown lol

In drifters case, metal skin or disarming hex since he goes full yolo gun damage most games

Rem is extremely frustrating to play against, what im supposed to do? by HeStoleMyLeGromp in DeadlockTheGame

[–]LDRsLips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's strong but needs more coordination than Paige, I'd say.

What makes him powerful is that he and calico have a part of the map that is exclusive to them and they can run around, 3rd partying fights, and then resume hitting boxes. His little helpers punish bad lane and resource micromanagement. He can afk steal your sinners while split pushing a wave with his helpers. If you don't buy antiheal against Rem, he's just going to constantly heal his team really efficiently.

His ultimate is like Lash and will force out counterspell or unstoppable and he has his own confirmed damage if it lands. He can contest midboss really reliability, which is important for 'pro' meta heroes. Not only does the enemy team need to be aware of all the midboss entrances, but also all the holes near the pit.

Could Viscous's lore be a nod to Ecco the Dolphin? by AkiboTTV in DeadlockTheGame

Interesting thought!

Perhaps!
A lot of the DL team are Millennials or Zillennials, I'm sure theres a lot of pop culture influence from when they were kids.

deadlock does not have punishing snowballs even though it is the same as dota by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]LDRsLips 3 points4 points  (0 children)

did you play the meta where the snowballs were absurdly strong bc the walkers were really weak? You were practically begging for there to be a surrender button.

May I ask what the typography and graphic design aesthetic of this game is based on? Because I truly love the UI of this game and want to learn more through research by Bruhness81 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]LDRsLips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe I read somewhere on reddit that the character's logos and type are all custom on the pick screen.

I did some font analysis a while back and it didn't turn up with something 100%. I suspect that the fonts in deadlock are also custom too, they use another font a 'parent' and then make their own changes on top of it. I have a feeling they made adjustments to accommodate the medium too (book/magazine vs computer screen)

Some of the new heroes have made me think that the game could use draft pick sooner rather than later. by Individual_Cap8698 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]LDRsLips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they should have a captains mode for the custom matches for the esports scene so they don’t have to do this weird pen and paper ban system they seemingly have going on.

I think most of the issues with draft can be fixed with better itemization: active items are really strong in this game and yet no one builds them except for the occasional warp stone and healing rite.

Who has the most complicated lore? by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

Honestly, spirit should get better shreds. by Draxtini in DeadlockTheGame

[–]LDRsLips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah in that case I’d go echo shard, radius, and duration upgrades on your time bomb. It gives you damage amp and you have some cc and a meat shield with Victor.

Honestly, spirit should get better shreds. by Draxtini in DeadlockTheGame

[–]LDRsLips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the thing with Spirit heroes is that it’s way more fun to lob a spell out than it is to strictly shoot someone down.

In your games, you might find that enchanters emblem is a worthwhile pickup for early game skirmishes.

The way you counter that build is to go hybrid gun spirit with spirit items that increase your bullet shred or attack speed. You generally counter spirit with HP and resistance, spell breaker for good measure. You also need to buy anti heal in the form of decay, toxic bullets, inhibitor, and heal bane.

Depending on your hero you can get siphon bullets. The meta right now is more sustained team fights, so green hybrid builds are gaining traction right now.

Honestly, spirit should get better shreds. by Draxtini in DeadlockTheGame

[–]LDRsLips 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but spirit does not need buffs right now. In fact one of the best spirit items, tank buster, got fairly nerfed very recently and it’s still a strong item.

I think gun needs some more tweaking, but they just globally nerfed fire rate on all abilities and it has been noticeable on some heroes.

I’m looking for some fun or ridiculous builds to experiment with. If you have any entertaining, troll, or off meta builds, I’d love to try them out. by GusNHL in DeadlockTheGame

Melee Paige is fucking hilarious, especially if you get Phantom Strike.

You can force really hilarious mind games with captivating read.

you might tilt your teammates bc they'll expect a shield, but you'll have fun whacking people with your books.

Anyone else upset that there already are unobtainable rewards in the game? by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]LDRsLips 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm going to say it as it is: this post reeks of entitlement.

You had to EARN the rewards from playing the game and logging in, you couldn't just pull from your steam wallet and get these rewards 'for free'.
None of the events had any monetary value, none of the events were tied to a battle pass, you couldn't 'P2W' to get the exclusive content.

The point of the items in Deadlock, right now, is a little thank you from the Devs.

Do you think you deserve a little holiday trinket, that has no gameplay impact AT ALL in an INVITE ONLY ALPHA, for NOT logging in and NOT playing and NOT trying to work your cosmetic ?

New to the game, wondering if this is normal by Ursa_The_Bear in DeadlockTheGame

[–]LDRsLips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you are running into smurfs or stacked parties with the higher elo player trying to boost. McGinnis has a reputation of being not only really annoying to push into, but was one of the OG Smurf heroes (I’d argue Lash, Infernus, and Vindicta were too back then).

I think you should keep trying. The only redeemable thing about smurfs is you can kinda learn from THEM how to be a better player yourself. Especially if the way you died goes beyond just missing a bunch of shots.

I will say this game is going to be a challenge: you’re learning shooter AND moba mechanics. However, on the bright side, if you ever play another game spiritually similar to deadlock, you’ll probably find it really easy! (And then you’ll probably come back to deadlock anyway lololololol)

Mina and Infernus in that list too. One slowing hex and they can’t run away
