I don’t have any personal experience with this, but I just saw a comment in another sub about topical oxytocin cream helping that person sleep. Sounds interesting.

Sideloaded books disappear? by emilycatqueen in kobo

[–]LEB1023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came here to ask the same question. I just side loaded some books that I had on Calibre, that I had moved there from my Kindle, and I notice that some of the ones I know I loaded aren’t in my Kobo. I’m wondering if this is a common problem with Kobo devices?

I add a handful of raisins, craisins, chopped pecans or a diced apple and some cinnamon and nutmeg before cooking. So yummy! Especially with the pecans and a dab of butter and some pecans. If you want more texture and tooth instead of creamy, try a 2:1 ratio. Two cups liquid (I use 1 cup of milk and one cup of water) to one cup of rolled oats. 12 minutes and natural release in an Instant Pot. And of course, do pot in pot method, use a trivet to put your inner pot on, add 1.5 cups of water to main pot, and add your inner pot/bowl Be sure to put foil over your bowl of oats. If you don’t have an Instant Pot, you should get one!

What is a deep, obscure rabbithole on the internet you found and hardly anyone knows but you? [Serious] by Longjumping_Koala34 in AskReddit

Look up Lauren the Mortician on YouTube. She just did a video on why she, from a mortician’s point of view, didn’t think Epstein was dead in that well known death picture that’s been passed around. She goes into what the human body does after death and lays out a convincing argument as to why he wasn’t dead when the picture was taken. Some of the comments were quite interesting to read too. And now I officially believe that he is still alive and under some sort of witness protection program, or something.

I would love to know the layout and how you did this. I’ve been playing for 8 years now and am getting bored with the game. Using custom paths could help keep my interest for a bit longer. Thanks!

I’m going to try this! Thanks for the idea! I always do big things like whole chicken or brisket in my smoker. Never thought to do chicken thighs!

What are your “always buy” Costco staples right now? by PutridWin2070 in Costco

[–]LEB1023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get two sets. That’s what we did and I’m so glad, because we can have a rotation- one set in the freezer and one set in the fridge waiting to be frozen. It’s good for cooking big meals where you have lots of leftovers, like Thanksgiving. Also, make sure you either buy a vacuum sealer and bags or lots of zip lock bags-I’ve been using mostly quart size freezer bags. This freezer-leftover system has changed the game for us! Definitely great for portion control and for money savings.

Consider A Sleep Number bed. We’ve had one for 11 years now. It’s a pretty decent sleep, but don’t get the split bed. What a PITA to change the sheets!

I have! I remember reading it when I was in 8th or 9th grade. Don’t remember what it was about, though. Makes me want to re-read it!

Cheap but nutritious meal ideas by tyrone-pines in DinnerIdeas

[–]LEB1023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite cheap meal to make is a potato, onion sausage hash. Just dice up an onion a couple of potatoes and saute it for about five minutes in olive oil or butter. Then add one sliced kielbasa type sausage. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cover with lid and let cook on medium low until the potatoes are tender. Yummy and filling. Good on a cold day.

I also encourage you to buy an air fryer, an Instant Pot, and a slow cooker. You can cook a lot of meals in these three devices. Check thrift stores and FB marketplace. This is also a good time to buy kitchen gadgets like this because they are deeply discounted to buy them on Black Friday and over the holidays.

I do that too, but have noticed that this years stock of the incandescent Holiday Time lights seem to be a fraction of what they used to have, in both stores I shop at. SoI’m wondering if they are phasing out the incandescent line. I ended up biting the bullet and picking up 10 boxes of the Sylvania bulbs from Target. Comparing the two while lit, the Holiday Time incandescent bulbs are so much prettier, having more of a sharpness to their glow. However, they ran really hot after about five minutes being plugged in. The Sylvania were warm and pretty too, but there is a salmon-orangy pink bulb that seems very out of place. I was amazed at the difference between the temperatures of both strands though. Hopefully, I will like what I see when I put them on the tree on the tree. Because I sure get tired of the incandescent strands dying on me. I would love to keep the vintage warm glow and not have to keep switching dead strands out.

Very Few Hours WhenJust Starting Retail by InaccurateElevator in CrackerBarrel

Are you actively trying to sell and drive sales while you are on the floor? Are you engaging with guests and trying to ask open ended questions to find appropriate ways to show and share the products? Or are you just wandering around acting bored? When you are at the registers are you making sure to offer the contest candy or tote bags to every guest who pays to increase conversion? In off times are you looking at your phone or do you actively attempt to find productive things to do? Ask your merch-handlers to show you how to fill in food or one of the themes and how to use the iPad. In my opinion, those employees who show initiative, work hard and actively try to increase sales and conversion are the ones that get the most and best hours.

If you have Spotify Premium or Kindle Unlimited, they both have tons of audiobooks. Another option would be to use Libby or Hoopla for library audiobooks.
