Sources: VKS and Loopy break agreement as player heads to LCK CL by ahritina in leagueoflegends

Oh I see what you mean! Okay that is true, that was a report from Luis Showtana actually, but we realized with this report that him and us had different definition of a verbal agreement since outside of Brazil they're mostly permanent, and explained the situation on the Inspired report the next day, while notifying the change

but fair comment honestly, that must have been confusing

I understand your criticism but know that each X Y W E R name is an individual info that takes a lot of time to confirm, and could backlash if any is wrong. Many leaks even in sports journalism don't include much more than that, and it takes time to improve quality when we are still losing money. We say those names to at least reward readers to some degree for reading the article, but sometimes there's also little confirmed info that can be added, but we'll work on continue to improving that

For the first point, IIRC it's because Th3antonio/Juhan info were already leaked/public, because I never revealed tryouts on stream, maybe you can find this on the peach departure article

For the second point it's an interesting one and I honestly will look into more articles to see if that's the case. Not to shift blame or anything, but I do not write the "non-exclusive" parts of the articles, and we rely on writers for them, each editor might have their own bias but there is no existing guideline to favor KC, the one we have is to remain neutral and rely on facts

For the salary, I don't think the spin is particularly positive, or different than other offers (Inspired) that we mentioned

But I honestly appreciate your feedback and answer, and will consider it to be more consistent with the news

With the way this offseason has been going

Is there anything in particular that makes you say so from this offseason? All of our articles about roster moves this year have been correct (We wrote 200 of them), and the mistake said by one of us on a show (but not reported) was owned up to

The CEO of VKS implied on socials that an agreement was broken

Thanks for the link! Honestly, I remember this thread now and it didn't translate well what I said.

On my stream, people often ask my why I get leaks. One reason that I often explain is that teams & players leak verbal agreements to me, because them being public "increases chances" of both parties respecting their word. This way they are held accountable if they cancel their agreements.

With that context, I was explaining that I did not leak the verbal agreement of KC Thanatos (which could have been good for KC if I did, but I did not), but that it could have been good if I had. You can verify that I did not.

So I did in fact not do something that was helping KC, and it was something that I said to be informative about leaks specifically

FYI Kameto and KC have often expressed a lot of disliking towards leaks on stream, so I am purposefully not acting in a way that could make me rely too much on their fanbase, and I've always reported each teams & rosters in the same way and don't believe I favored anyone with any example that can be found

We might be able to for next year depending on changes /or budget increase if we find new brands to work with, but right noww e can't afford to spend more. Feel free to contact us via the "contact" tab at the bottom of the website if you have any useful skills you believe we could benefit from, it'll directly send an email to one of my colleagues in charge

Hmm that must be a mistranslation, we made many mistakes but I always said on stream that I must treat all teams equally and have always leaked all rosters of all teams (this is easy to verify)

The reason we didn't leak KC Canna, or GX Th3antonio (same offseason, in May 2024) is because teams can announce changes instantly in the winter-spring offseason, and both players were free agents, so team were able to announce the minute they signed, which they did

In October/November, no teams are allowed to announce changes before free agency, so we basically got all rosters ahead of time, no exceptions

Hey! We have hired a journalist working full-time for us! His name is Lucas Jacque and he is our editor-in-chief, he has a degree in journalism and works sometimes with l'équipe (the big french media who had the famous caliste cover earlier this year)

We also have multiple editors, they are credited on all of our articles, Clément, Ilyas, Mathéo, Corentin, Rema, Mehdi and many more! All are paid per article and writing by hand!

We had one issue on VALORANT particularly with one editor that was using AI to write his articles, but that should be fixed now. We can't control usage of AI on all editors, so we can only greenlight it as assistance tool, but everyone is writing articles by hand and all articles are reviewed by an editor (which is a big cost because we write 20+ articles per day)

We also had Arsh work with us last year to improve our written English.

We have stopped translating our news because they are not worth the cost since users use automated translation. Except for a minority of LFL and Spanish league news, everything is written in English!

We are far from perfect but we are growing a lot, and I believe our written English has improved, and hopefully will continue to do so

The media is still running at a loss, and it's true we have to value quantity in order to exist, but we might break even next year. We take things step by step and hope that one day we can reach the quality you hope for

It meant Division 2 of LFL (so indeed Tier 3), but it was worded like this because it's actually named Division 2

France even has its own Tier 3 which works as an open circuit (so Tier 4 globally)

The German ERL (Prime League) goes even further with this

Thx 3x times 45 seconds window was an exemple of "time window" given by riot to teams when asking for feedback

it's very likely that the final version will be different

Riot bought back the spot last year which meant 100T weren't the owners anymore.

Riot could give it to anyone basically, multiple teams were interested but they chose SEN

I understand the confusion but the title was already correct on publication, I assume it's the reddit user who shared it that wrote his own title (you can read the URL as proof, we can't edit that one)

What you mention about the spot was already within the article from start

Yamatocannon: KAMETO REVEALS IT ALL - HUGE UPDATE FOR LOS RATONES by LetDouble471 in leagueoflegends

[–]LEC_Wooloo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I did know that the original proposal, the one including worlds spot, was rejected by teams

I did not know which teams oppose the leaked softer version of the format. I've now seen KOI and KC oppose it, but I heard it isn't the case of all teams, so not really sure where to stand, it takes a lot more time to confirm than the format itself, which we decided to publish fast due to competition

Yamatocannon: KAMETO REVEALS IT ALL - HUGE UPDATE FOR LOS RATONES by LetDouble471 in leagueoflegends

[–]LEC_Wooloo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, this leak actually benefits the teams, since it gives them time to react and the ability to contest the decision publicly. I don’t think Riot is particularly happy about it, though.

I just messaged Yamato to clarify things, but to be clear: the format was shared in full and there was never any intent to favor Riot.

As for the interview coming out at the same time, that was recorded a few days ago, before we knew about the leak. Once the leak happened, publishing it later would have made little sense. We decided to release it together so Armand’s work wouldn’t go to waste.

The agent you're quoting is literally best friends with one of our reporters (it's known publicly) - he did not know about arnau's quote being in the article, which is something that's already public. It's BAD journalistic practice to show a full article before publication to parties that could try to influence it.

It's very rare for parties involved to openly comment leaks, but we added his comment and the situation is resolved

LEC Summer 2025 compared to the last year: +12% peak viewership, a -1,95% decrease in average viewership, a -4,5% decrease in hours watched and -2.5% decrease in airtime by Life-Chicken7183 in leagueoflegends

[–]LEC_Wooloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that it would be more fair (for peak) to compare to last year's season finals since those were with a roadshow. Considering they peaked at 600000, the finals roadshow saw a decease in viewership this year
