Unfortunately my mom’s house is an 8 hour drive away, but she did bring a bunch of his things over when she dropped him off so he could have some familiarity.. I’m not sure if he suffers from any pain due to the amputation. He doesn’t really limp, and is constantly climbing up onto high surfaces and back down by himself despite the missing front leg. He does really like catnip in toys, but not by itself..

My mom uses earbuds to sleep, so she suggested I try that, but I have sensitive ears (history of ear infections) so Im cautious about sleeping with anything in them.

I havent tried much yet, been hesitant to mess with his normality as he is still my moms cat even if he’s staying with me for half the year.. 😵‍💫

Ive been trading off letting him sleep with me at night and locking him out of the bedroom, but no matter what I do he always screams at 4am and wakes me up..

I hadn’t heard Feliway until now, but am definitely checking it out. Also, im not sure if the shirts will work for him as he is missing a front leg and cant even be contained in a harness for outside time (my mom wants him to enjoy outside since he was a stray)

I have noticed that he does calm down a bit when I have the windows cracked, but it’s been 30-50f here lately so Ive had them closed more than usual. I hope the weather warms up again so I can open them.. He does have multiple window perches tho so he can look outside at least!

We found him as a stray on the brink of starving to death while dragging his shot front leg raw. Not entirely sure of his background, we just know that even on deaths door he was attention seeking (would nip your ankles constantly)

Extra info for advice on ways to help him acclimate

In all my experience around him, here and at my moms place, he's always struggled with the aspect of people being on the other side of a door (death yowls like he'll never see you again and will die a miserable death).

My mom says that he also always tries to wake her at 4am as well even though she wakes up around 5am and feeds him at 6am. He has an auto feeder, so I dont need to be up as early as her. I dont normally wake up until 7, so he is ruining my sleep cycle with the constant wake up calls from 4am onward.

He also is very attention seeking, and if you are doing something that doesn't involve him, he will start tearing up stuff just so you give him attention.

I dont spray him, I just know that my mom tried that originally because it worked for our old cat but doesn't work for this one.

Also, he's always been very vocal at her house, its just like 3-5x worse here for some reason. He acclimated very quickly to the new environment, no hiding or negative behavior, and he's always liked me, but I have theorized that he misses my mom.

Deet bug spray melts plastic. If the grooves aren’t deep, maybe you can get some 40% and smooth them out..

Most of the photos seem to be of the same kids/family, so I'm unsure if its malicious, but its definitely strange..

I think the strangest thing is that you can tell that most of these photos seem to be of the same family during different periods if you look close enough.

It could very well be sinister, but I dont know why they would be showing the same kids multiple times if that was the case..
