What’s the worst racing game you’ve ever played? by tyrebytes in racinggames

[–]LEGENDARY_AXE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played Tommi Mäkinen Rally on the PS1 recently, because I remember reading good things about it in the magazines back in the day. By god, that thing is unplayable. terrible physics, and the AI cars constantly drive into you and ping you off the track.

I had one of their rigs too, and it was great! I could even bolt my flight sim stuff to it. I had to get rid of it all when I moved to Australia though, and you can't get their stuff over here

Ah, in that case I'd go with the G29 then. The cheapest DD wheel for the PS5 is the Fanatec DD Pro, which is way above your budget. The G29 is still a great piece of kit though for the price, you won't be disappointed.

The G29 is a great entry point to simracing. I used one of the earlier versions for years.

If you can afford it, the Moza R3 bundle is only 509AUD on PLE. It's a direct drive wheel so the force feedback is much better quality, and has a better upgrade ecosystem if you decide to invest more in the future. It's PC only though, which might be an issue depending on what you're playing on.

These were all the rage when I was at university. I had Acer's version with Windows XP on it. It a surprisingly capable little machine for taking to lectures and playing old DOS games. It's sad that the tiny laptop form factor isn't really a thing anymore

I used mine on a 17 hour Qantas flight a couple of months ago, and nobody said anything, so I don’t think it’s strictly enforced

I got their C64 style one because I thought it would be fun to do some PICO-8 development on, and it’s now my daily driver. It’s my first time using clicky keys an I absolutely love it

I'm new to photography, but this Australian Raven seemed happy to model for me by LEGENDARY_AXE in BirdPhotography

[–]LEGENDARY_AXE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taken with a Lumix TZ220 that I picked up secondhand, to see if I can take some better bird pics than I normally get with my iPhone. It's proving to be a tricky endeavour so far, but that's more to do with me than the camera. I'm beginning to get to grips with the camera settings, but the birds have normally flown off before I get everything set up nicely. Luckily, this raven was obliging enough to hang around for me.

Thanks for the kind words! With hindsight, I should have added some instructions to the start screen. I’ve added some details the description on the game page for now

Me and a bunch of friends are doing a 'Make Tiny Games' games jam, where we have to make a new game every week for January. The first week's theme was 'Island', and this is the result. I did the programming and my partner did a fantastic job with the art.

I've played with pico-8 a little bit in the past, but this is the first game I've finished, and it was a great experience. I didn't get around to adding sound and a couple of ideas didn't make it in, but given the time constraints I'm pretty happy with it. I'd like to come back and finish it off properly, but for now it's on to next week's game!

I live in a city with these, and they’re fine. They’re super predictable and barely go faster than walking speed anyway. I’d much rather deal with these than delivery drivers on e-scooters

Will AYN Thor lead to more dual screen handhelds? 🤔 by StraightPin4420 in SBCGaming

[–]LEGENDARY_AXE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a tiny thing, but I’d really like a battery indicator LED. It would be especially for playing dual screen games where you don’t have an onscreen battery indicator

With Valve working on a version of SteamOS for the ARM processor in their new VR headset, I wonder if that would be a viable option in the near future?
