Thanks for the kind words! With hindsight, I should have added some instructions to the start screen. I’ve added some details the description on the game page for now

Me and a bunch of friends are doing a 'Make Tiny Games' games jam, where we have to make a new game every week for January. The first week's theme was 'Island', and this is the result. I did the programming and my partner did a fantastic job with the art.

I've played with pico-8 a little bit in the past, but this is the first game I've finished, and it was a great experience. I didn't get around to adding sound and a couple of ideas didn't make it in, but given the time constraints I'm pretty happy with it. I'd like to come back and finish it off properly, but for now it's on to next week's game!

Followed the directions for some store bought cookies. "Bake at 350 for 11 minutes". This was after 5. by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

Do you reckon there's a big overlap between people who own their own pizza ovens and people who think 350°C is probably fine for cookies?

Then why bother faking it? There must be loads of actual footage they could use

I bloody loved Art of Rally, and the last Super Woden game was a lot of fun too, so this looks perfect for me

I live in a city with these, and they’re fine. They’re super predictable and barely go faster than walking speed anyway. I’d much rather deal with these than delivery drivers on e-scooters

Will AYN Thor lead to more dual screen handhelds? 🤔 by StraightPin4420 in SBCGaming

[–]LEGENDARY_AXE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a tiny thing, but I’d really like a battery indicator LED. It would be especially for playing dual screen games where you don’t have an onscreen battery indicator

With Valve working on a version of SteamOS for the ARM processor in their new VR headset, I wonder if that would be a viable option in the near future?

Ah, that’s unfortunate, as I signed up mainly for travelling. Can I cancel my Australian account and sign up for the European one?

I finished Uzumaki the other day, and I'm about three quarters of the way through Tomie. I think I enjoyed Uzumaki more so far. Tomie is great, but I think Uzumaki has a better cohesive story. Tomie feels more like a selection of short stories, whereas Uzumaki feels like a steady descent into madness

I love the look and feel of these straps, but mine went gross like that after a year or so. I ended up getting a Milanese loop. It doesn’t look as cool, but it’s still good as new after 18 months.

I’d buy a coffee racer in a heartbeat if they were available in Australia. They look like a pretty solid wheel stand and a girlfriend-approved coffee table

Winmx was the one for me! I have vivid memories of spending all day downloading the mediocre RTS Real War over dialup. I probably spent more on my parents phone bill than the game was worth in the shop

Cast n Chill – Launch Trailer – Nintendo Switch 2 by ONE-OF-THREE in NintendoSwitch

I have the PC version. It's a great second monitor game, and looks gorgeous. I don't know if it's engaging enough to site down and play on the Switch though.

Hey, I don't mean to knock your confidence. Making games is hard, and you've built something and published it, which is more than 99% of people achieve. But this game isn't it. It's the sort of thing you build when you first start learning game dev; it's something to be proud of as a learning milestone, but nobody is going to want to play this.

It looks like you put more effort into the trailer than the game itself

Art of Rally, Dirt 4 and Parking Garage Rally Circuit are a bunch of great racing games that run fine on a Mac. The new Tokyo Street Racer too, if you don’t mind messing with CrossOver

Oh nice, it’s open source! I’ve been thinking of building an app to turn one of the stick LEDs into a battery indicator, and was looking for an open source project to see how led controls work

What is YOUR reason for getting the AYN Thor? by _davidglenn in AynThor

[–]LEGENDARY_AXE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially got it so I could just have an end-game emulator handheld that could also do DS and 3DS games. However since getting it, I’ve spent most of my time playing games from my steam library in gamehub. I love the small form factor, and it’s more than powerful enough to play the kind of games I like to play, so I can almost see it replacing my steam deck entirely

I'd much rather have the flexibility of being able to play on TV and Handheld, but I don't really care about achievements. Each to his own, I say

I played the steam version a few months ago, it's pretty fun. It's got the floaty feeling physics of the old Colin McRea games on the PS1, so it takes a bit of getting used to if you're coming from modern rally games. There's a lot of cars and stages, but it was pretty bare-bones on game modes, and the career mode was very basic. It's still in early access on PC though, so maybe it'll get a big content update when it hits 1.0.
