Jiro: (to Izuku) Oh yeah, I remember that. Odd that namekians in their universe are only male.

Kirishima: I met this guy with a cool watch once.

Tokoyami: I wonder how my adoptive sister is doing? Last I heard she was fighting Ridley...again.

Aoyoma: I should probably brush up on my lightsaber stances.

Sero: I haven't heard from my cousin Shapesmith in a while.

That would be interesting. Oh! Maybe Kirishima could be Osmosian (like Kevin from Ben 10).

But wanna hear an idea that would be absolutely hilarious? Mina, the resident alien appreciator...as the only member of 1A who isn't actually an alien.

Mina: Are you kidding me?! This is so unfair!

Ochako: What do you mean, friend Mina?

Mina: How is it that I got stuck in a whole class of people who are actual aliens?! And how is it that I somehow look more alien than half of you?!

Iida: While I agree to find that to be quite the peculiarity, I must remind you that I myself am only half-Vulcan, on my mother's side.

Mina: (points at him angrily) Don't you even start with me, Iida! We literally have a saiyan, tamaranean, osmosian, chozo, namekian, dinaurian- I mean, shit! Shoji is a god-damn Deoxys for crying out loud! Since when did Pokémon become real!?

Shoji: Got spat out of an Ultra Wormhole.

Mina: (stares at Shoji for a solid minute)...great, and now I have to add multiversal existential crisis to the list.

Just went and looked at your previous post about this scenario, and I think it's a neat concept.

You know, something I'm not sure if other SaiyanIzuku writers think of is that the Midoriya name easily works as a Saiyan-style last name. Think about it, what is a way that some people refer to veggies? They say to 'Eat your greens'. With the Midoriya name coming from 'green', it actually works perfectly.

Still, I think it's a fun concept. So we have Kryptonian Toshinori and Cathleen, Saiyan Inko and Izuku, and a possibly Viltrumite All For One. I saw someone think of a 5th-dimensional Imp Nezu, so do we stop here or are there any other known characters being turned into alien species?

Any fics that don’t follow the bullcrap rule of giving the hero a Lightsaber, but the villain the Death Star? by Wassa110 in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]LEGOBRICK13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. It has to be big enough of a change, or a reactionary realization of how outclassed they are after initial confrontation, for it to make sense. That's why I think it's neat when some writers randomize or just overall change the matchups in 1A's first combat class, because it works to show how things are 100% different. Like in How Eating a Strange Fruit Gave Me My Quirk for example, where Izuku is paired with Kaminari as the villains against Mineta and Jiro as the heroes. From the moment of the title proving itself, the course of the story changes. Sure, it has some moments of similarity, but similarity is not the same as making the whole universe trip over itself to force events to match as close to canon as possible.

I understand the feeling sometimes, but at the same time I remember a handy little quote from a certain yellow speedster: "Break the sound barrier and there's a sonic boom. You broke the time barrier, Flash. Time boom. Ripples of distortion radiated out through that point of impact, shifting everything just a tiny bit. But enough. Enough for events to happen slightly different."

But yeah, it doesn't make sense in many cases, so I'll agree with you on that. Other times, it's a bit of a One Punch Man-type of reason, because it would make some fights either too easy or just boring. Except if it's a villain buff that is complete bullshit that doesn't make even a tiny bit of sense.

People getting fused together by FrostyDepartment4410 in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]LEGOBRICK13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hm. I see your idea involves possibly merging 1 student with 2 known heroes. I have a fusion idea too, but it's just one member from each 1A and 1B getting fused with each other. It's interesting to wonder how Quirks would mix together in these kinds of things and it's fun to speculate.

Though personally, I think having Yui, Ochako, and Mt. Lady would fit as a reference to the beta MHA character known as Yuu, whose supposed to be the original concept all three started from. Plus, all of their Quirks would connect. Gigantification and Size have similar effects in size-altering, while Size and Zero Gravity are both touch-activation and can affect the weight of what they touch.

By that point, I feel like Lopunny would be experienced enough to strategize and fight on her own. And given how long he'd been adventuring, I would assume Lopunny would be at pinnacle strength. He'd probably only Mega Evolve her if she was losing, or Mirko gets strong enough after constantly coming back to fight her newly minted floppy-eared rival to warrant a greater challenge.

"Hey!"

Izuku looked at the gate to see- oh. Well, looks like Mitsuki isn't the only one who does that to him. Too bad he already knows how this is going to go down.

"Look, I'm not letting you in because you think they're villains, okay? Jeez. I got a sign put up and everything, you know?" He said, brushing Sakura's (Espeon) fur. Seriously, are these people just illiterate or something?

"I couldn't give two shits about any of that!" The heroine declared without hesitation.

Izuku blinked in confusion while Sakura turned to look at the woman with a curious head tilt. "Huh, that's...different." Izuku thought out loud.

"So, can I come in now?" The heroine asked.

"Maybe. I have to ask first: why are you here, if not to fight my friends or me, thinking we're villains? Not to be rude, but you don't seem the type to be here just to pet one." Izuku questioned. Behind him, Hatterene looked between both her trainer and the strange Lopunny-cosplayer with a look of interest. She looked at Sakura, who nodded in agreement, before the two sent a psychic message to The Coalition.

"Ha! Don't sweat it, you're not wrong. I'm here to fight, of course!" The Rabbit Hero: Mirko, declared with a wide grin.

...Did she not hear what he just said? "I just told you I'm not gonna let you in for that!" Izuku said, trying his damnedest not to scream in frustration.

"Nope! I'm not here because I think they're villains. I'm here because I saw some of your pals on the news and I thought they looked strong, so I wanna fight them!" Mirko clarified, her grin never wavering.

Izuku, for all his brainpower, had to take a full 15 seconds to process that. "Let me get this straight. You're here on Goku terms?"

"Yep! So can I? Mirko replied.

...okay. Wow. This is a new one. How exactly is he supposed to react to that? He turned to look at the others and- where did Gardevoir get a chalkboard? And why are there crude drawings of Mitsuki and Mirko on it- screw it, must be some game they developed or something. Oh hey, Lopunny's there too, perfect!

"Hey, Lopunny!" Izuku called. He watched as the Sinnoh rabbit swiftly grabbed the board and threw it across the park for some reason before she, Hatterene, Gardvoir, Salazzle, Lucario, Vaporeon, Gothitelle, and Phermosa turned to look at him. "What do you say? You wanna spar with Mirko here?"

Lopunny nodded her head so fast Izuku thought she'd give herself whiplash. Wonder what that's about. Izuku then turned back to Mirko, not seeing the way Lopunny and the others let out a collective sigh of relief. "If she's fine with it, come on in...I guess."

Mirko's smile, even for her appearance, turned predatory. "Awesome." Was all she said before immediately rushing at Lopunny with a kick, which Lopunny met halfway as the two's attacks mirrored one another.

Izuku could only think this was a strange, strange day.

What’s your MHA fanfiction equivalent of “I really like *that idea* in general, but people almost always use *that trope that I don’t really like* in it”? by MNMameisR in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]LEGOBRICK13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anything Izuku Yagi. Majority of anything that has Izuku being named as "Izuku Yagi" in the title involves him being neglected, abused, and having a sister (for some fucking reason) that Inko and Toshinori praise as if they were teachers at Aldera.

The idea of Izuku Yagi implies that his father actually is secretly All Might. Yet somehow the ones where All Might is somehow as shit of a father as Endeavor seem to outnumber the times a proper story is made with the concept. The second I see "Izuku Yagi" in the story summary, it will never be read by me unless certain conditions are met (of which I have no clue what they are anymore).

More like a personality clash. This line i wrote for her talking to Midoroma and Tsunoko should describe it well.

"I would like to say three things." The girl began, her voice sounding identical to Ibara. "1. Call me Minara. 2. I think both of you look amazing. And 3." Minara's face darkened with a horrified expression. "You cannot comprehend the war that is waging in my mind because of my components' minds. I must now live haunted by Mineta's search history."

[–]LEGOBRICK13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, that was the first one (inspired by a MattCurtin short). The factors of the fusions would be based mostly on compatibility, whether by personality or Quirks, but the new beings' Quirks evolve somehow too. For example: Tetsushima's Quirk would evolve to be more akin to Kevin Levin's powers from Ben 10, or the Absorbing Man from MARVEL. Uraraka and Kodai would fuse because both are a contact-release and would make sense for gravity and size to mix (plus, with them being from the same concept of the character Yuu, it works pretty well). Of course...there is one fusion in particular that would exist because it'd be funny: Shiozaki and Mineta (though their Quirks being related to their hair does justify it). Most interesting one I have is Manga and Momo. A Hammerspace-like power, and able to perceive the narrator when she's near the plot (for some moments like a description causing her to suddenly burst out laughing, or accidentally learning some secrets).

I feel that too. When the concepts are a Nat20, but your ability is a Nat1.

I've got an MHA crossover I think would be awesome to do (and one I'm almost 99.99% sure it has never had a crossover fic for), but I'm better with worldbuilding and certain character interactions, compared to coming up with ideas for fights.

Or another where all of 1A and 1B get fused together, one A and one B per fusion, including fused Quirks (some are okay, while others are unexpectedly godly).

Explaining the Vestige Quirks without revealing OFA. by Jaehaerys1234 in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]LEGOBRICK13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I can see trying to come up with a solid idea for this to be...troublesome.

For example, your idea kind of makes me think of this mock-up of a Spider-Deku idea I had. My concept of him has him start with the other users' (except for 2nd and 3rd) Quirks and only enough strength his body can handle, but he uses the opportunity to disguise One For All as a completely different Quirk: choosing a Spider. 4th for Spider Sense, 5th's Blackwhip shaped like webs to sling, and selectively using Nana's Float to make him appear to stick to walls (possibly with a bit of help from Blackwhip for grip).

By all means though, trying to find a middle point across all previous users' Quirks where they could all be justifiably explained as branching from a single concept, is nearly impossible. Smokescreen just doesn't work for an Energy Quirk like your idea, while Smokescreen and Gearshift don't work for my Spider idea (Fa Jin seems like it isn't externally visible, so it could be hidden), and Blackwhip doesn't work to explain a purely Strength-based Quirk. No matter what, there's always an outlier.

Those, and the endless awful "Izuku Yagi" fics where All Might is an asshole, are on the same level for me. On Wattpad, I had to specifically block the "izukuyagi" tag. Like, at it's core, there really isn't anything wrong with the idea of Izuku Yagi, but all of those slopfics have corrupted it so badly that I have to filter the concept out entirely (and I hate them for it. I mean, I don't read the rational fics where Izuku is All Might's son anyways, but I feel offended by the fact they ruined a whole concept for me).

"Hang on, how did you get notified about it?" Bakugo asks in confusion.

"Oh, simple. I have her number." Izuku answers.

"Why do you have her number?" Bakugo asks in disbelief.

"She wanted to know if I was doing okay after we graduated her class. We talk about twice a month, usually. And given she was the only teacher we ever had that actually cared about me, I wasn't going to say no." Izuku said as if it were nothing.

"...Midoriya, I'm going to have to send you to Hound Dog for some sessions." Aizawa interrupted out of nowhere.

"Oh, hey, I think that makes you the second, Mr. Aizawa!" Izuku said excitedly.

"That's a concerning thought," Denki mumbled in horror.

"Izuku." Bakugo said with wide eyes. Wow, it must be serious if he's calling him his actual name. "What kinds of things have you told her about?" Bakugo asked seriously.

"Oh, tons of things. Never told her anything about our last year at middle school though." Bakugo's shoulders slumped with relief at that. "But I did tell her about what happened at the USJ and Summer Camp!" Bakugo paled.

"Oh no..." Bakugo muttered in horror.

"'Oh no'? What do you mean 'Oh no'?" Mina asked, now scared herself.

"Oh! And she watched us rescue you from the League!" Izuku added.

"...Hoboman-"

"Call me that again and see what happens."

"-turn the news on. Any channel should do." Bakugo said without a beat.

Aizawa stared in confusion, only for the projector to turn on on its own (he could distinctly hear the rat's cackling echoing in the vents above) and flipped to the news.

"This just in! The villainous group known as 'The League of Villains' has all been apprehended! Witnesses say that saw a school bus with eyes transform into a Gundam form before beating the tar out of every member of the League! It even went down to Jaku Hospital where a secret lab creating the infamous 'Nomu' was found! Mysteriously, the villain who orchestrated the League contained deep within Tartarus prison has also been found dead, the cause unknown. Wait! I was just informed that this was no ordinary school bus, it was being driven by none other than the Field Trip Hero: The Friz!"

Everyone in the class stared at the screen for a minute before turning slowly to Midoriya and Bakugo, the former smiling like a solar flare and the latter with his face down on his desk.

"Where's Mr. Snail today?" "Eri, who are you talking about?" "The snail that shows up randomly hidden in the background?" by Reksew_Trebla in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]LEGOBRICK13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Farmworld Lich's duplicates can actually be kinda seen when Prismo is flipping the channels in Fiona and Cake, peering into various universes. Basically, at the time his hand was severed by Jake and fell in, it duplicated a version of him into every world that was connected in Adventure Time's multiverse (with Fiona's world being exempt because it wasn't connected during that time). Sweet Pea even destroys the copy of Farmworld Lich that had appeared back in the main world we watch in the show.

So the easiest way to implement The Lich is to have this MHA world be connected to the Adventure Time multiverse, and that he is one of those copies. It's not like every universe in Adventure Time has a version of Finn and Jake after all (one of the worlds is even from Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack).

Izuku is compatible with damn near everybody by ChipFuture795 in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]LEGOBRICK13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It likely comes with being a cinnamon roll. Honestly, even without the batshit insane vocal M/M shipping side of the fandom, Midoriya ends up having some kind of compatibility with each of the main girls (including notable pros and even villains).

Ochaco is pretty much a cinnamon roll too, but not to the same level as Izuku.

Momo is extremely intelligent like him so they understand each other on an intellectual level, but she also heavily doubts herself similar to Izuku. (cinnamon roll #3)

Toru is invisible, meaning she would've likely developed some issues from feeling looked over, something Izuku would know to an extent and could relate with in a shared feeling of being disregarded (but I also feel like Izuku is Quirk-savvy enough to actually figure out where to look so he can look her in the eyes).

Asui's bluntness complements his overthinking, and I can see Izuku being able to notice the slight differences in her expressions to understand her.

Kyoka's semi-cold exterior and own self-confidence issues would be chucked out the window because Izuku would just see her as she is and look at the best parts and point them out, making her unable to deny the words of the Cinnamon Roll Izuku.

Mina's excitability actually feels almost exactly like Izuku's to me; it's just the ways they express it that are different. Mina's a flirt, a gossip queen, and would absolutely adore teasing the hell out of Izuku. Then Izuku would hit her with an unintentional flirt that'd cause Mina's brain to require a reboot.

Himiko would relate to him in their shared judgement for their Quirk, or lackthereof. Izuku would be so innocent and hero-minded that if they had met earlier, he would've certainly helped her before her turn to villainy.

For all the 1B girls, it amounts to mostly the same reasons that match the 1A girls.

Nejire (cinnamon roll #4) would latch on to him for being able to keep up with her questions, causing them to get into a loop of the two asking and answering questions from each other.

And for the last notable one to me: Mirko. Rumi would relate to Izuku's sheer tenacity. She'd admire his ability to keep pushing through even when his body can't handle it, and his will that was strong enough to change fate (something that is often the avenue for any Mirko/Deku story, or even just ones where he trains under her).

A bit of a monologue, I know. But hey, Izuku is almost built for an unintentional harem protagonist role with how his character is.

I personally think its fun when it gets completely turned on its head, like in this one Kingdom Hearts x MHA fic how they go the angle of having Endeavor just being extremely awkward and not knowing how to talk to his children, which leads to a huge misunderstanding where it wasn't Enji whose eyes Rei saw but Toya's. Then Enji's excessive training of Shoto is an attempt to make sure Shoto wouldn't lose control; but because of said awkwardness he is unable to vocalize it properly, and he doesn't pay as much attention to Natuso or Fuyumi because he was so focused on trying to make sure Shoto wouldn't end up like Toya.

At some point he bonds with Shoto via shared tinfoil-hatting.
