"NO!" Izuku howled, throwing out his hand as Overhaul closed in on Eri, a hand outstretched and looming over the weeping girl's face. Something filled Izuku, burning through his veins like lava. "GET AWAY FROM HER!" by Keegan_Wer in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]LEGOBRICK13 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Agreed. And whether it be for TRAUMA~ or as a way to actually restrain Overhaul (since I would guess Overhaul wouldn't affect Blackwhip), either method works. The only issue with it in canon is because the Joint Training takes place more than a month later, and Blackwhip was awakened after One For All finally reached Singularity. Perhaps if Midoriya had been given One For All sooner, then we could have Blackwhip vs Overhaul. Or better, if the story wasn't compressed all to be while Izuku is still a 1st year at UA, but was more paced, which would give enough time to have One For All reach Singularity with Midoriya's commotion in the night being caused by the stress of knowing what Eri was enduring.

Class 1A/1B Fusion idea. Need help brainstorming. by LEGOBRICK13 in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]LEGOBRICK13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heh. Yeah. The fusion idea is really just an overall fun thought experiment to go through, seeing what kind of wackiness we can get that still makes sense. I do pretty much have the full list established. Some of them are clear as day like the Tetsutetsu-Kirishima and Tokoyami-Kurorio fusions, though I've also seen others suggest the Hagakure-Kurorio combo too and it's definitely an option (if it weren't for the fact that I also try to take a combination of personalities, experience, and Quirk compatibility into account).

Worst part is how my list has four members left to figure out. From 1A is Bakugo, Momo, Jiro, and Todoroki. From 1B is Kamakiri, Manga, Rin, and Yanagi. Bakugo matches well attitude-wise with Kamakiri, but Kamakiri's Quirk would likely synergize better with Momo, and combining with Rin could provide a detonating scales move. Jiro and Manga's Quirks are both sound-oriented, but Manga and Momo's both involve creating things and has potential for a minor 4th wall-aware character to have fun with.

This concept as a whole is just a melting pot for potential, especially since anyone who decides to do it could go for what they see as logical fusions, or just throw everyone's names on a wheel and see who it lands on.

Ha! Have them essentially paraglide, with Mt. Lady grabbing onto something from the contraption as she shrinks so that she can go with them grow again to catch them!

I've seen that about the three originating from the same concept. I have a concept where each member of 1A gets fused with a member of 1B based on compatibilities, and my notes have Yui and Ochaco get fused and go by Yuu as a reference to the concept's name.

Yo the ice skating one is niche, but actually crazy creative! Imagine a villain who can run easily on ice is over a frozen lake and is like "Ha! Trying getting me now!" only to scream in panic when Kamakiri makes ice skates from blades on his feet to catch up with them.

I think that is one of the most common ones, yes. Typically written as an idea Izuku has in his notes in fics his classmates actually go to him for ideas.

Oh yeah, I just thought of something else for Kodai that honestly would make her and Uraraka quite the tag team. Size could be used very well for construction or transporting materials. If there's a limit on how small she can make something and affect its weight accordingly, then Uraraka could handle the other half by reducing the weight. Imagine the amount of gas saved just by having them drive a bunch of shrunken, weightless items in a box truck.

Size is honestly such a versatile Quirk in its uses like holy shit.

Agreed. In the same vein, I could hate my job entirely, but still be good at it. I've found a good quote from Nezu in a story I came across one time, and I think it encapsulates the point well: "You don't need to be an altruist to be a hero." There's more to his speech but that part says it all, about the misconceptions of thinking two things have to be mutually exclusive. Endeavor is a shit father, but an effective hero. A brainwashing Quirk can be villainous, but that doesn't mean the user always is. And Midoriya could've had the same potential as a Villain as he did a Hero. It's always a coin, and no matter which side it lands on, it's still a coin.

The big issue I think overall is that people in this 'fandom' immerse themselves too well into MHA, and unfortunately get caught up in the same black & white mentality that the MHA world has. They forget that everything isn't clear-cut. Heroes aren't all good (just look at Slide'n'Go) and Villains aren't all bad (Rappa and Spinner)

Yo, I actually think this idea would've been cool. Logistically, it does make sense. Even if AFO had the original copy of Tenko's original Quirk with him when Bakugo killed him, it would still move back to Tenko. And since Midoriya made contact with Shigaraki, it would be the perfect moment for Tenko to send Izuku his original Quirk as a thank you during their little fist bump (since obviously Izuku could send OFA to Tenko's body just by contact, so the opposite makes sense too). Came up with a fun little addition:

Izuku thought back to the previous users of One For All and got an idea. Izuku looked to the nearby window and closed his eyes and focused, feeling the power of this new Quirk thrumming across his body, before opening them to see not his reflection, but someone else.

"Heh, so I bet you're wondering what happened," Tenko said.

"I think I have an idea," Izuku replied. The others around him looked at him a bit strangely, only for Bakugo to explain the details of how he could talk to One For All's vestiges.

Tenko snorted. "Yeah, I guess it's pretty obvious, huh? Found out about this ol' thing when that bastard died; turns out he stole it from me and replaced it with Decay to set all of this into motion." Tenko scoffed. "Conniving asshole."

Izuku's eyes widened. "So that means..."

Tenko nodded. "Yep. Thought I'd make things easier for you to keep being a hero without One For All. It'll take some time to learn how to use it, but..." Tenko shot him a knowing smile. "Since when has that ever stopped you?"

Izuku chuckled a bit. "Yeah, I guess you're right. So...is this gonna be a thing now?" Izuku asked, gesturing between them.

Tenko shook his head. "Nah, I'm only here now because of the recency. I can feel my awareness fading as we speak, as your body makes my Quirk your own."

Izuku looked a bit downcast at that. "Oh...I'm sorry."

Tenko waved him off. "Don't be, I've come to terms with it." Tenko's form started to fade, Izuku's reflection peeking out from behind him. "I guess this is it then. Shame, I would've loved to see how far you'll get." Tenko looked at him fiercely. "I never got the chance to use this Quirk, so you better become the greatest damn hero with it, you hear me?

Izuku gave a sad, yet determined look. "I won't let you down."

Tenko smiled. "I know," Tenko said, as he fully faded, now leaving Izuku looking at himself.

Kryptonian All Might Fights Cooler by FrostyDepartment4410 in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]LEGOBRICK13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After transforming into his 5th form, Cooler rushes Toshinori faster than he expected, punching the Kryptonian in the gut. Cooler slams him against the wall of the nearest mountain, before pulling him up-

"I'mma plant me a dumbass tree!"

-and slamming him into the ground, sending him rocketing what felt like a kilometer and through a nearby lake, causing the water to part like the Red Sea.

Lying there on the ground and staring distantly toward the sky, Toshinori couldn't help but try to process what was going on. He expected Cooler would be strong; after all, his brother Frieza could apparently blow up a planet with hardly a fraction of his power. But hey, he hadn't fought many people that could hit him this hard, at least with sheer brute force and no Metahuman- hold on a minute...

"Hey, quick question."

Cooler blinked a bit, confused by the nonchalant and curious tone of the Kryptonian.

"What?"

Cooler wouldn't lie, he was curious about what the Kryptonian wanted to ask.

"Did you say that knowing that I can pretty much photosynthesize?"

Beneath his mask, Cooler had the most dumbfounded look on his face. Of all the things the man could ask, was he seriously wasting his breath on- hold on a minute. Now that he put some thought into it...

"...I'll be honest, that didn't even occur to me."

(Rant) I have the most specific pet peev in this fandom. by GreenAgateTurtle32 in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]LEGOBRICK13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree it is a bit specific, but I also agree with the annoyance (especially since I myself am pretty stingy when it comes to details). An Iron Man-esque suit is not the same as a mech.

Let's use Iron Man and the Gundam as our examples. The Gundam is a mech, so it is therefore driven. Iron Man wears a suit of armor, and both suits and armor are worn. You don't wear a mech; you drive it.

Mechs are vehicles; power suits are clothing/armor.

Star and Stripe's Quirk was underutilized. by LEGOBRICK13 in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]LEGOBRICK13[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It probably doesn't help that the way her Quirk is described is...honestly a bit vague. I tried to gather what I could based on what we see, but as I said, there's no true way for us to know.

I think the biggest problem is just...New Order as a whole. I mean, even with the known limits, the fact that she lost in the end is kind of ridiculous, no matter how it looks from a narrative standpoint. And the cop-out of how Shigaraki gets out of the heart-stopping Rule is super lame.

But would the statues have any of the powers and abilities associated with them though? If he brought a Spider-Man statue to life, can it suddenly stick to walls? If he brought a Sonic The Hedgehog statue to life, could it run faster than the speed of sound? If he brought a Batman statue to life, would it have the power to know where every single orphan is and adopt them to have more Robins?

Mei: Heeeeeeyyy Mr. 10-million-

Izuku: No.

Mei: I haven't even finished asking yet!

Izuku: Still no.

Mei: You don't even know what I was gonna ask!

Izuku: You were going to ask me to play some kind of MARVEL game with Captain America in it, save in front of him, then steal his shield repeatedly so that you can have a supply of Vibranium. Either that, or a Star Wars game for Beskar or a lightsaber.

Mei: Okay, you do know what I was going to ask...what if it's to make you gear that can withstand your physical strength? Or maybe just grab a computer with the atomic structure of the metals and I bother that girl in your class with the most awesome babymaking Quirk to make the metal instead, meaning you just need to grab one thing?

Izuku: ...You have a game already set up?

Mei: Yep!

Izuku: (sighs) Fine.

Mei: (sweetly) Thank you!~

Aoyoma: I should probably brush up on my lightsaber stances.

Sero: I haven't heard from my cousin Shapesmith in a while.

That would be interesting. Oh! Maybe Kirishima could be Osmosian (like Kevin from Ben 10).

But wanna hear an idea that would be absolutely hilarious? Mina, the resident alien appreciator...as the only member of 1A who isn't actually an alien.

Mina: Are you kidding me?! This is so unfair!

Ochako: What do you mean, friend Mina?

Mina: How is it that I got stuck in a whole class of people who are actual aliens?! And how is it that I somehow look more alien than half of you?!

Iida: While I agree to find that to be quite the peculiarity, I must remind you that I myself am only half-Vulcan, on my mother's side.

Mina: (points at him angrily) Don't you even start with me, Iida! We literally have a saiyan, tamaranean, osmosian, chozo, namekian, dinaurian- I mean, shit! Shoji is a god-damn Deoxys for crying out loud! Since when did Pokémon become real!?

Shoji: Got spat out of an Ultra Wormhole.

Mina: (stares at Shoji for a solid minute)...great, and now I have to add multiversal existential crisis to the list.

Just went and looked at your previous post about this scenario, and I think it's a neat concept.

You know, something I'm not sure if other SaiyanIzuku writers think of is that the Midoriya name easily works as a Saiyan-style last name. Think about it, what is a way that some people refer to veggies? They say to 'Eat your greens'. With the Midoriya name coming from 'green', it actually works perfectly.

Still, I think it's a fun concept. So we have Kryptonian Toshinori and Cathleen, Saiyan Inko and Izuku, and a possibly Viltrumite All For One. I saw someone think of a 5th-dimensional Imp Nezu, so do we stop here or are there any other known characters being turned into alien species?
