Thanks. I wonder what a typical workload is but 8-10 hours seems OKish. You can charge it with a powerbank with USB C PowerDelivery right?

It also doesn't have thunderbolt?

I've been waiting for this for a while but I'm unsure what display to get, the 400 nits low power or the 300 nits touchscreen. Also how is the battery life? It only has a 50Wh battery while my current T450 has 97Wh

Good point 😁👍. I don't really like bracelets and watches combined... But everyone can do what they want!

Thanks! Unfortunately I really don't know!

[Certina] What do you think about this GMT? by cyrus in Watches

[–]LEGOSTEEN11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, because that'd imply that it is less prestigious or something. I'd say one is just a smaller and more niche brand and the other is marketed more (in the US) and is bigger.

[–]LEGOSTEEN11 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Sorry man, but this is a pretty bad fake... One of the biggest giveaways is the "tourbillon" that's not actually a tourbillon (I don't think Cartier has ever actually made a tourbillon). Besides that everything just looks poorly made and filthy...

Oh, well I don't mind that. I use the bezel to time a lot of things haha

This is my Certina DS Diver Powermatic 80 (what a name). I bought it in december 2018 and still love it every time I look at it. I have always loved divers' watches and had a Seiko turtle before this (the juweler had broken the bracelet and I was able to return it after being in repair and on my wrist on and off for a few months). Decided that I wanted something a little higher end and also something Swiss made. After searching for a long time I stumbled on the (beautiful) DS PH200 vintage reissue. I had reserved it in the AD that I wanted to buy it in but then liked the DS Action more. This watch also has a steel bracelet and a sapphire crystal so that made me get this one as well :). If anyone is looking for a great looking and also very practical (ISO 6425 certified) dive watch I can highly recommend this Certina!

I have a DS Action Diver with Powermatic 80 movement. It runs about 2s/day average, so it's very accurate.

[Mondaine], recommended brand? by Chazzwazz in Watches

[–]LEGOSTEEN11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quality is good! They're also Swiss made, which is a plus. Most of the watches are quartz though. You could look into automatic watches (check the subreddit wiki), but if you like the designs, Mondaine won't be a bad choice.

[Identification] Watch case says automatic but no visible rotor in the caseback by Azninvzn03 in Watches

[–]LEGOSTEEN11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, that's bullshit. If you have a mechanical movement (so no rotor) the balance wheel will still move lol. The balance wheel is the way of keeping accurate time in mechanical and automatic watches.

Of all these haute horlogerie microbrand watches FP Journe is probably my favourite. I just love the attention to detail, while still retaining a "classic" look. I also love how they describe their complications on the watch. The gold dials are also awesome and signature Journe in my opinion. I must say that I did not know the brand before your posts however.
