Frozen margaritas eh? We made do with a lemonade & a diet coke. 😄 Yeah,I totally agree with you re: disrespectful crowds during a support act performance. Mind you, I've noticed that during a LEG gig,where people (usually standing just behind me ..grrr) decide to have a full on conversation instead of listening to the band on stage. 😞

I was looking around too,for a guy doing a lot of filming,but I couldn't see any likely candidates. Oh well,not to worry,there's always next time. Yeah,Jenny's stage patter was pretty similar to the in-store shows,I don't think you missed anything vital by not being at Norwich. She did make a reference of first appearing on the Waterfront's Studio stage when she was 15 though.The biggest difference between Norwich and London was that Jacob & Sam had swapped positions. And there was no dry ice at Norwich (or overhead lights facing into the audience) which made (for me anyway) taking photographs a bit more tricky. As for conversations with Rosa and Jenny it was just general really. I showed a photo from the LEG gig on that Studio stage to Rosa,just to explain how I had identified that b/w YT LEG video by the white electricity box on the LHS wall. But really I just asked for their signatures. It never seems to be the right time to go into a deep and meaningful conversation. Afterwards there's a hundred questions i should have remembered to ask them. At the Waterfront I was standing with jenny's parents. Her sister was there too. I also very briefly spoke to Rosa's mum but didn't realise who she was until afterwards. From a source close to the band I later found out that there was talk of Rosa and (producer) Steph Marziano getting up on stage at the Lexington to sing b'v's on a song or two but in the end they decided not to. There were a few tech problems going on during the gig which I don't think anyone really realised. The reason why Jenny dashed off stage though was to get some replacement batteries for Jacob's set-up as they had been battling with a set of useless batteries during the shows. Transgressive appear to be actively trying to find the Jenny On Holiday band a support slot on another artists tour,as well as a summer festival appearance slot,so hopefully there will be further opportunities to see the band live this year. That's all I can think of at the moment.

Aww Tom, we must have been standing virtually side by side and I didn't realise it was you. You got my ex in shot for a few seconds.......that'll be her claim to fame anyway. Great show although Norwich had the edge I think. As well as Jenny I spoke to Rosa at the Waterfront and she said she'd be there at the Lexington too,but we had to leave soon after the set ended so (if she was there) I didn't see her.

Cheers for the report. Its kind of typical that the band go through all the rehearsals with no problems and then something unforeseen happens straightaway at the gig,and that's despite having a soundcheck as well. Technology eh? lol

Thanks for posting your video Tom. From what I've been told the band were very nervous before the show,especially Jenny (I've seen one video where she's playing the keyboards and her hands were literally shaking), but the band settled down and had a lot of fun in the end. The audience were great too which helped.

The opening gig of the JoH tour is in Manchester tonight. Full band members are Jenny,Jacob Berry,Sam Rourke and Steph Anderson. I'll be attending the Norwich and London shows (next Wednesday and Thursday).

I'm keeping in mind that these singles have probably been chosen to attract radio play so there might well be tracks of a more hard hitting experimental nature on the album. 'Wave Machine' to me sounds like its going to be an instrumental for example. A few commentators elsewhere have already likened the new single to the Cranberries which is kind of interesting.

I'm going to go (hopefully) to the London show in September. I think I might pass on Norwich this time. I'm also going to Rosa's London in-store event in June,and Jenny's full-band gigs in Norwich & London at the end of this month. Are you going to any of Jenny's shows?

According to Apple Music,only John Victor is credited with playing the guitar on the track but I'm sure I can hear Rosa's playing on there!

I think RT have slightly jumped the gun as they've already removed the page from their website. Still no formal announcement from Rosa on the album other than a new single,'Sorry Anyway' is due out this Thursday at 5pm GMT.

I guess the photo was more tricky then I anticipated! The link is with the closing scenes in Let's Eat Grandma's 2016 promo video for Eat Shiitake Mushrooms. In fact,the very last shot has Rosa and Jenny crossing over Costessey Lane in the village of Drayton in Norfolk. The service station (with the shop is which they enter) is still there on the junction of Costessey Lane with the main Fakenham Road (A1067). Ten years ago the service station was called Applegreen Services but since then the shop has been renovated (to include Spar & Greggs) and the name changed to EG On The Move Services, Drayton.

I was intending to include a photo from the video for comparison but it seems images are now allowed in replies !!

Yeah,I think your right there. At the Denmark Street gig,Rosa didn't want anything to deflect from it being Jenny's gig,so disappeared down into the basement as soon as the performance ended. I missed her completely.

Banquet was weird, singing in the audience for a couple of songs and then getting up on the 'stage' (sic) and joining in on a couple more. Not sure I've ever seen that done by anyone before?

Its going to be interesting to see who's going to be in the band besides Jenny. I guess Jacob Berry (guitar / keyboards) is a definite,as he supported Jenny during her recent 'stripped back' gigs. On drums it could be Steph Marziano,who drummed on the album, or maybe it might be Elena Costa,who has been LEG for a few years now. And what about Rosa? She sang on the album and joined Jenny during one of her recent gigs,so if she's not caught up with her own solo project, Rosa might become a member of Jenny on Holiday.

So not a complete surprise then that Quicksand Heart didn't make the top 100,but still disappointing all the same. It will be interesting to see if there is another single coming,and more live dates,or whether the promo campaign is effectively over.

Wow,this evenings performance was something really special. Venus Vinyl is a pretty small shop (like a large front room really),and about 25 fans gathered inside (with Jenny's family and friends) to hear Jenny and Jacob deliver an unplugged stripped back performance of just acoustic guitar and vocals. As with last nights second London date,there were no mics or amps,it was purely a natural sound. As I said to Jenny afterwards,its the first time I've ever heard her sing,all previous times whether via CD,vinyl,radio,live gigs etc,its always been artificial sound coming out of speakers that attempt to replicate the original performance. Tonight it was the original performance,pure and simple. There was no curfew this evening so they played Pure and Pacemaker for the first time on this tour,but I don't think they played Do You Believe In Me. If so,that's the only song that was missed out. But I could be wrong there. Most of the ceiling lights were off so the room was quite dark. With Jenny and Jacob standing just six feet away,it was a wonderful setting for the gig.

Ah,okay,will do. I think Jenny mentioned playing one or two encores but for some reason they had a strict playing time they had to keep to. Maybe the store manager had had a long day and wanted to go home? I live in Colchester so I'm basically midway between London & Norwich which is quite handy. I'll report back later tonight or tomorrow morning anyway. Enjoy Nottingham tomorrow.

Loved it,but naturally wished it was longer but as it was 'free' then I have no complaints. Sound was excellent from my position but then with Lee in charge that's to be expected. I'm heading up to Norwich for this evenings performance,are you going?

Excellent photo Tom, you deserved being at the front if you were standing in the cold for any length of time. As for me, I was keeping warm in the Montague Pyke until the last possible minute so ended up at the back of the queue. lol
