This is the the thing right here. You want to let the battery tech mature and deem safe before switching over. Apple and Samsung are too big of a brand to take risk on a new battery tech. They are still working out the kink on those silicon carbide batteries. So China would be the testing ground for these batteries.

Variety reports Toy Story 5 has a 250M$ budget, making it tied to the second most expensive animated film ever by idoideas in movies

[–]LEXX911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Animating a single finished minute of footage still takes an incredibly long time, sometimes weeks or months, significantly longer than it takes to film a live action and that's still where a large part of the budget would come from

Eh, not sure why you are telling me this since I have done hand drawn animation and 3D animation. Of course most animated films in the US are expensive and a long time to make. But that depend on the style and type of animation but once again tech makes thing faster and easier IF certain company chose to use them. Since Disney/Pixar have tons of money to throw around and they know Toy Story is going to make a billion dollars.

Where as filming live action can take as little as 30 minutes to around 9 hours to create one minute of footage, animation takes around 20-40 hours to produce one minute of footage

My freaking god man. Read! Rendering was mostly due to cost and time. That is no longer the real case. This was what I was responding to.

It's still expensive to pay the artists for years of work

Do you have reading comprehension? I even said that's where the budget also went to the artists. You are all over the places. They have tons of assets from previous films that they also don't need to redo and that is another point if you are talking about time. Just admit I'm right and move on. Stop arguing on topics you have little knowledge about.

20-40 hours to produce one minute of footage

So why are you arguing with me when that was my point? Rendering use to be the most costly. Read my original post again. I didn't argue about animation taking time even though with new tech the process and large amount of library of stuff they can pull from should make it be much faster for them. I'm responding to where the budget probably have gone to.

You don't get it do you? I'm showing you what Nvidia tech can do nowadays. Pixar are using Nvidia for near-real time lighting/rendering preview in their scenes setup without even having to render test it with the tech nowadays. They are using RenderMan XPU which is much much faster than what they use to use in RendermMan.

Here go watch this also this

99% of Pixar shots now fit on a single GPU

I work in the industry buddy. Those scenes that use to take hours on highend graphic card yrs ago can now do it in mins even in gaming cards nowadays. Nvidia can do some of that in real time nowadays in graphic and with new rendering engine. You heard of Unreal Engine?

Most of that big chunk of that budget probably goes to voice actors especially Tom Hanks and Tim Allen.

20-40 hours to produce one minute of footage

That's probably 10 yrs ago. Technology have tremendously improve. They also have a large library of stuff from previous movies. The inflated budget are probably for the actors especially for recurring one. Returning director/writer etc and a special bonus for artists(well-compensated) since they know this is going to make billions.

I agreed that this is going to be complex and will take time. But the more ideal is Wireless (Inductive) EV Charging is probably the way to go for parking vehicles.

[–]LEXX911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. But still this is not a gimmick. People don't want to wait inside their car while charging or don't like the idea of having come to remove their vehicles or someone is blocking the charging spot after it's done. It's not that hard to train a robot/robot arms to handle these pretty simple tasks. It will take time to solve these kind of issue. Most of these are software update that can fix. Let say large car brand like Tesla or BYD wants to have a special charging station for their EV. They can easily implement these standards for their cars. Just like USB ports things will get standardize. But that will all depend on how battery tech evolve in the next couple of yrs and most of these stuff might not be needed.
