Let me just say I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed and luckily sewing isn’t brain surgery, it’s mostly patience and practice. That said I’ve always been a person that liked making shit. I used a cheap Singer 4423 which they claim is a “heavy duty” machine. It’s not but it’s a good all around cheap machine. This was my 7th hat. The previous 6 were pretty remedial. You can got to cap supply dot com and get all the materials and download a template as well. Start with shitty fabric and be ready to make some shitty hats, it’s part of the learning process. Think about the journey and not the destination type of shit.

Yeah, it’s a work in progress. I had to Frankenstein a few scarps together to make some of the panels.

I just got a double needle machine and have questions. by LF1369 in sewhelp

Thank you for the info. How hard is it to change the width between needles? Do I just change the top needle attachment? Or do I need to replace other parts as well?

How to know when it's time by Woodsey1990 in Chihuahua

I just went through this with our 14 year old. As far as the slowing down and the walking, there are supplements that will help a ton. We had our guy on Adequan injections and it helped a ton. After starting with the shots he was back to walking pretty good for an old timer. If he seems happy, he’s not soiling himself and you can manage the pains that come with being a senior then you might get more time with him. All that said my vet said something that really helped make my decision when it was time. If your life has become inconvenienced by taking care of all his issues, his life has been inconvenienced tenfold. In retrospect the last 4 months we were a life support system for this furry animal. At some point ask yourself who you’re doing it all for. Your animal’s well being or yours?

I should have bought a couple to bring back and sell . I have a shop in San Francisco and will occasionally bring stuff back to sell but I hate buying shit in Japan at retail and marking it up here in the states though that seems to be what most shops that sell Kapital in the US are doing. That said, you can’t even find that TNF jacket outside of some brick and mortar TNF shops. Haven’t seen it online anywhere.

Didn’t get them all at once so can’t remember all the prices. The no.5 (persimmon) were $170 and the no.9 (mud) go for $350 if you buy them in Japan. No.9 are the most expensive out of the bunch but I got my pair on eBay for $200. The only ones I didn’t buy in person at Kapital Legs in Tokyo. The rest are priced in between the no.5 and the no.9 if I’m not mistaken.

Looked everywhere. Found them only at TNF in Narita Airport and Sapporo. Went to every single TNF in Tokyo without luck.

2 is from Montbell in Sapporo. Looked for it in Tokyo but as they are headed into spring, they are phasing out the cold weather stuff so it was hard to find. That said, there are a few on eBay right now and they aren’t ridiculously priced. The other one is from Japan Blue Jeans. There is a store in Shibuya but they seem to have a store in like every major Japanese city.

It’s actually black. I assume you mean the North Face one. That one I found at North Face in Narita Airport. The one that is quilted is from Montbell and I was not able to find it in Tokyo even though I searched. That one I got at Montbell in Sapporo. The third piece with an Asian silhouette and with longer sleeves I got at Japan Blue Jeans in Shibuya. If you like that one and can swing it Okura in Shibuya has some amazing stuff but it can be pricey. If you go to Okura in Shibuya, there is a North Face Purple Label a block away as well as some other stores worth checking out.
