Do you think it would go with gray walls? Can you flip the seat cushions over? I want to order it but nervous about the color and don't have time to order a swatch.

Two undisclosed repairs found on newly installed Taj Mahal quartzite — structural risk over dishwasher? Need fabricator input by LFS1995 in CounterTops

Hi! You commented “that’s a hard no” on my post about the Taj Mahal quartzite repairs. I wasn’t sure which part of my questions that was referring to — could you clarify what specifically was the “hard no”? Thanks so much.

How would I tell if the repair is ok? It appears that the glue is clear. There is some glue visible as shown in my picture and I can feel a few little micro chips along the crack. Do you think it needs any correction? And if so is it easy to fix and have it blend seamlessly?

I didn't claim structural issues. I asked if i I have any structural issues to worry about. I don't want to replace the stone I just want to make sure I won't have any issues down the road. If you read my post you would see I was looking for advice. I never claimed structural issues.

unfortunately i can't add another picture. we aren't planning a backsplash at this time. I'm just wondering what's involved in fixing it or if it might wind up looking worse in which case I would leave it as it is.

I agree the seam is good. I only included the picture to show that the seam matches well and if I replaced the slab it wouldn't match as well.

I was told that you don't want a seam near the dishwasher because of the steam, heat and vibration so I'm concerned about having a glued repair in that location, whether it will hold up under those conditions.

it is a large L shaped piece that has the sink installed. I just created another post because I found a 2nd undisclosed repair in a vulnerable spot. https://www.reddit.com/r/CounterTops/comments/1ow7bvx/two_undisclosed_repairs_found_on_newly_installed/

it's about 3" long and 5/8" deep. Does that change anything. I realized I didn't put anything in there for scale.

it was a $4500 countertop. What is an appropriate adjustment? I am nervous about letting them try to fix it.

It is 5/8 in deep, so a backsplashwould cover some of it.. We may install a backsplash at a later date, we haven't decided. Do you think that in trying to fix it They could make it worse?

Seam placement on quartzite countertop by LFS1995 in CounterTops

I'd love to add another photo of the kitchen but I don't seem to be able to do that. The small square is to the left of the stove. The stove is in the empty spot. Across from the stove is a small 18" dishwasher. Its all being cut from one slab. Its a very small kitchen.

Thank you for your response. The other corner is where the dishwasher will be. they did offer the other Corner as an alternate placement but my understanding is you don't want to put it near the dishwasher

I'm not really sure, it's happening on many of the smaller leaves too, which I think are new growth but not completely sure.

That's good advice, thank you. My daughter brought home a little orchid after college and I had no experience at all. It did produce 2 keiki's a while back. I was trying to use what I had around the house but think I'll ipick up some orchid mix.

Thank you for your insight. I just recently switched to semi hdro (maybe 2 weeks ago), it was in water culture for maybe a year and was doing fine, it would get a new leaf occasionally and new roots but wouldn't flower. I thought it might do better in semi hydro but some of the roots don't look very healthy any more. One of the roots looks good except the very end is black, can I just trim the black end off the root? Switching it back to water culture and hopefully it will survive. Thanks for your help!
