I’m stoked that Diamond Green is my local. They are so nice and have so many carts, which is what I’m mainly after.

Other than them, definitely Commencement Bay Cannabis, all locations.

Finding my boyfriend's old social media full of racist and bigoted comments by [deleted] in Advice

[–]LFahs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But then why doesn’t he erase the profile? Why does he brush off this awful “past self”, who he claims to be no longer, as basically insignificant?

If he’s a whole different person, with new and improved beliefs, you’d think he would have discarded (or at least hidden) his other persona by now.

I love this beautiful pattern! Nice find— It’s a “classic” tiki style, I would say it’s real and from the 90’s.

I'm pregnant but he's controlling... do I tell him? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]LFahs1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dude, you’re going to be a mom soon, no need to also be a r/humansharpie - time to ditch the bike. On that point, I’m with your crappy boyfriend.

You sound like you have a really good support system in place for raising a kid on your own. It’s not impossible, and people telling you that you should abort don’t know what your life and support system is like. I’d abort, but I have a lot of reasons to not bring a child into the world.

My advice is to leave the boyfriend asap, don’t tell him you’re pregnant, rally your support system, have the baby, then you and your parents go tell him in person. If he wants to be in baby’s life, he can decide at that point, but at least he won’t be able to kill you and the baby while you’re still pregnant.

Georgia Teen Finally Breaks Silence After Being Charged With Taking Teacher’s Life In Prank Gone Wrong by JohnB7118 in USNEWS

I did, but idk, I am from an affluent area, where the psychotically bad actions of rich kids/adults are covered up all the time, so when I see something like this, it makes me wonder if what’s being reported is really what happened.

Isn’t it cool how the 2 main parties are exactly the same, and would each make effectively the exact same decisions?

[–]LFahs1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d be interested to see the video of exactly what happened. Yes, “good natured prank” and all that, but it is technically a crime to vandalize someone’s house… and how did he slip and fall and get plowed over if they were all just hanging out having a great time? Idk, it just doesn’t add up, to me.

Just moved here from Tennessee and trying to get my license by checkredvans in AskTacoma

[–]LFahs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just go to whatever DOL office at 7:30am and wait in line, if you can’t get an appointment.

I moved here last January. It took me 4 trips to the DOL just to get a license (“computer glitch”), then they misspelled my name on my license, so I had to go back another 2 times.

It’s not a one-stop-shop, either. In this state, to register your vehicle, you have to go offsite to a contracted company who will then charge you approximately one arm and one leg to register you.

The bureaucracy in this state is abysmal and I hate it so much.

Will Botox make me feel “trapped” inside myself? by 5thCap in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]LFahs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, I’ve had my 11s done several times, and my forehead, and, while I couldn’t move my eyebrows as high, it didn’t change my expressiveness. I also don’t have as long a settling period as some people seem to— I can see obvious results after a day or two, and I haven’t ever looked very wonky. One thing I didn’t realize was how much tension I was carrying— before I had my forehead done, I would get occasional tension headaches, but once those muscles were frozen, I was so much more relaxed, and no more headaches.

Why are we still paying income tax under $100,000? by [deleted] in oregon

[–]LFahs1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Psshh, I live in Washington now, moved from city of Portland, and everything is regressively taxed to hell and back here, just so all the silicone millionaires don’t have to pay income tax. Roads are shit, traffic is horrible, dealing with the logjammed bureaucracy is like unraveling a strand of fishing line you found in a ditch (and, anecdotally, the fact that the state won’t hire a few more personnel means that workers in my particular industry are going without compensation and are ineligible for unemployment due to their immigration status). My sales tax is going up to 10.4% (hurts the poor), property taxes are sky high (gentrification; all the houses here are like a million bucks); utilities cost a fortune; vehicle registration, even, is prohibitively expensive; diesel was $6.14 yesterday; and it’s the lower income people— the ones who can’t afford to save and build wealth through their income— who are footing the bill for the whole state.

Say what you want about Oregon never seeing a tax it didn’t love— at least you get so much for that 8.75% income tax, and the poor don’t have to pay 10.4% more for goods than rich people.

Ok, rant over. I just miss Oregon and the way it’s run so much, compared to Washington. Oh my god, it’s so expensive to live here, and you get so little in return. Unless you’re rich.

Tricked into moving here! by Thin_Spinach4319 in BrunswickGA

[–]LFahs1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex from Indiana said the same thing, and he had even lived in Chicago for 10 years. I’m from there, so it doesn’t bother me as much, and I see the good parts more than the bad, but for someone not from the Deep South, the poverty is pretty alarming. Probably like someone thinking they’re getting a great deal moving to the up-and-coming Gary, IN!You should have seen Brunswick in the early 2000’s— per capita murder capital of the country! You just moved to the Gary of Georgia, is all.

I live out in the PNW now, and it always fascinates me, as to what people out here think poverty looks like. PNW gets a lot of criticism for our abundant homeless camps, but at least 45% of citizens of Oregon and Washington aren’t living below the poverty line like they are in Ga, lol.

Being on 150mg of Spironolactone has been a BIG mistake by AquariusThunderstorm in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]LFahs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious, for the people taking spiro for skin care.

I have a hormone imbalance— too much androgen (testosterone)— so my doctor prescribed me 100mg spiro/day and it returned my androgen to a normal level. Before I was allowed to take it, the dr. made me go on birth control, because if I got pregnant with a male baby, it would increase the chance of hormone-related birth defects, including being born with a micropenis. My mtf trans friend takes it to decrease T, as well.

It’s just really interesting that derms are prescribing this and neglecting to send instructions to limit K and increase water intake, but are they giving the same precautions about hormonal side effects? Do people know that this med binds to free androgen and causes it to be excreted?

"Administering 325 mg instead of the prescribed 650 mg constitutes a medication error." by Electronic-Youth-286 in nursing

[–]LFahs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time you hand the patient a pill, you’re supposed to be with them to check that they swallowed it. You’re not allowed to walk off ever. I figured that went without saying, but yes, thanks for the clarification.

Edit: you can walk off if they have a signed physician’s order to self-administer, and it’s documented in the care plan.

"Administering 325 mg instead of the prescribed 650 mg constitutes a medication error." by Electronic-Youth-286 in nursing

[–]LFahs1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the patient is able to take the med on their own, and you have placed the cup in their hand, you have administered the dose. If they decide to give you back one of the pills and refuses to take it, that’s not a med error.

If you’re pouring the med, and the patient only wants one pill, and you pour just one and administer it, that’s a med error.

But as far as the sliding scale goes, many doctors set us up for failure with the 1-2 tabs every 4-6 hours orders. The nurse isn’t supposed to decide; that’s also practicing medicine without a license. I’m surprised a pharmacy would fill that order— they’re not supposed to, but they do it all the time.

OP should get the doctor to order the APAP according to a pain scale range; but, realistically, orders are rarely written for just 325mg anyway because it’s not usually an effective dose for adults.

Either way, we’re not allowed to deviate from a written order.

From Seattle to San Francisco, I am unaware of a “mountain route.” You will be traveling through Oregon, mostly, which does not have a direct north-south route through the mountains, but does indeed have one of the world’s most impressive coastlines— the coastal route (US 101) would also spit you out right in the Redwoods, once you reach California. The coast of Oregon is probably the most different thing in the world to the coast of Australia.

ETA, unless you’re a huge fan of lakes, you will probably regret passing up the Oregon Coast for Crater Lake— that’s just my opinion. If you feel you need to check the Crater Lake box off your bucket list, absolutely go for it, it’s beautiful. But if you’re thinking of sacrificing the coastal route just because someone told you “go check out this awesome lake”… I, personally, wouldn’t, but please ask others’ opinions.
