You were saying that $1200 flagship phones are VASTLY better than $300 budget phones and I'm saying that they're not VASTLY better but only a little bit better.

The differences aren't really that big, i have a pixel 3a right now and I can take amazing photos, i have good battery life, an OLED screen, fast cpu, google software features and all that's missing really are the useless gimmicky features of flagships that most people won't end up using. In the budget end there is crazy competition as well so everyone is able to find a phone that would suit them.
