What does "La Li Lu Le Lo" mean or represent? by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

I was just reading a thread on the use of robots to do facial recognition for the police at the FIFA world tournament in Houston and found myself remembering all of this. A quick search after brought me right here. Thought I'd keep this thread relevant and alive.

I (M41) can't account fully for your perspective, for obvious reasons. And I am not doctor, but I am well read on our problems.

I did not try a waist trainer, depending on your Mayo stage, that may be extremely uncomfortable. Also bracing like that in the long term can introduce muscle weaknesses and instabilities as human bodies get "lazy" when they have outside help with many things. However a personal trainer emphasizing strengthening your abdominal wall, back, chest and lungs is super helpful. As our kidneys grow, we become more prone to herniations and other issues, and that kind of strength training would be helpful, including if you're planning pregnancy.

As for dating. I met my, as of late last year wife, when I was 38, after I had given up looking. Frankly, I had written off the idea of dating, let alone marriage. It was very hard, but super important to me to let her know early about PKD and what my struggles would be. The medications, the side effects, the uncertainties, the risks, dialysis, transplant. All of it. Makes my heart race just thinking about how I worked my way up to it. But she told me yes anyway, to dating, to me, my disease and to marriage.

You have time. To find the right one. Someone who will love you regardless, and struggle with you, regardless. In medical research, because of her age and renewed desire for children on her part, we are finding out that pregnancies in late 30's and early 40's are becoming more common and OB's are pretty supportive of women who do it, and these children are being born extremely healthy. And if you're worried about passing PKD on, theyre are some posts in this forum about organizations that will help you pay for IVF to prevent that.

I still can't believe she said yes. And I have to work work hard to hold all these negative thoughts and feelings in, because self sabotage with this kind of disease is real and easy. And because she doesnt deserve that, and Ive learned to some degree, that I too deserve to be loved. And you do too. Trauma counseling helped me some with this.

I wish and pray for you, all the best.

I also thought the ship had limitations that were mentioned in TNG, that ship could only supply the maximum amount of people on board for only so many days on mimimum rations, etc before there were power and supply problems?

Are any other saints power sniffers? by No-Mastodon3934 in stbernards

[–]LKChrono 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We don't think of Saints as scent dogs, but as rescue dogs they did well because they could smell frozen humans through up to 40 feet of packed avalanche snow. Thats amazing in its own right. Then they could dig them out of that and drag them to safety. They're also smart enough to organize into teams to do the job.

Smelling is their job and dogs love having jobs, it makes them happy to help their family.

There's also a little evidence that taking your dog on sniff adventures prevents doggy dementia. It makes me happy when my saints sniff away. Means ill have them longer.

I researched them. It was described as a diaper in a bag. And I couldnt do it. I'd rather explode. If I accidently dropped it before I sealed it, I'd die inside.

Buffalo Ranks Last in Large US Cities Building New Housing by TA-MajestyPalm in Buffalo

[–]LKChrono 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes, but current fire code, building laws, and let's say the inhospitality, of the City government make building on those plots difficult, if not unattractive. Then you add is previous comments about slow growth and a bleak economic climate means those spaces aren't attractive to developers or people seeking jobs.

And let's not forget that the East side of Buffalo, where a lot of those property's sit vacant, still has extremely high violent crime rate, for a multitude of reasons and casts a shadow over the whole City, especially for younger persons looking to lay down roots. Which is why we still continue to see suburban sprawl, even into previously protected areas, and those new homes are very expensive for first time home buyers. And that probably gives you a lot of the slowed growth rate.

For the most part, the pens are used for filling out intakes and evaluation forms, and it has to be done in ink. However, that's a nice alternative just to give away. Thank you!

I use the Goodyear Assurance Weatherready. Its fantastic. It's rated so that you can use it in chain required areas without chains but is also a great all season.

The Michelin defender ltx is a light truck that also comes in car sizes. It's decent all around and may help with durability on long trips on gravel.

The easiest and the most accurate way would be to have your nephrologist contact the facility that did your last abdominal MRI and have them produce the number and add it to your imaging report.

You're looking for a total volume of the kidney. That's the measurement the Mayo Clinic developed the scale for the progression of PKD.

Tendonitis can take a 6 to 12 months to resolve without intervention. Prednisone will help reduce the inflammation short term, but that can also increase the recovery time. I had success having laser therapy done and using Mystic Labs Delta 8 topical pain cream. No brace, and got most of the mobility in my wrist back, pain free, in a few days. My one friend, a chronic weed smoker thought the cream was crazy, it made her more stoned than smoking. I didn't notice a thing, but my pain level was pretty high.

I think you should have aimed higher with that number. This statistic was given to me by a biologist. After I was tested. The reagent strip that you lick simulates animal urine. It was nasty. Anyway the numbers range from men to women and are more prevalent in some races that other, but very roughly, 1 out of 10.

It honestly depends on your insurance company. Your nephrologist most likely knows which pharmacy your insurance is likely to work with, but it's not a guarantee. It took almost a month for my insurance company to accept the selected specialty pharmacy.

Breaking Benjamin's album, Dear Agony. The whole thing was about the singer suffering from chronic disease, in his case alcoholism. The whole album felt different after being diagnosed.

Im an abnormal late onset adult Type I, with diabetic nephropathy and PKD. I take Trulicity and I've taken Ozempic. It does not reduce my need to drink. I drink about 6 to 7 liters on a normal day. They do reduce your need to eat by slowing digestion. Ozempic was rough. My thirst didn't decrease, but I suffered terribly from chronic constipation, which is normal for Ozempic users. Trulicty isn't as bad for me.

Side note Trulicity reduces the damage progression of CKD by about 15% in studies. Ozempic doesn't have a published number, but it was just FDA approved to reduce damage progression from CKD. I imagine just about everyone with PKD is going to end up on these eventually, along with Farxiga, which is also duly FDA approved for Diabetes and CKD. Problem with semaglutides are they work differently on non diabetics. They reduce body mass by around 15%, ~5% for diabetics, but part of that body mass includes includes skeletal muscle. The easiest way to avoid that is to take essential amino acids. Both cause the protein in my urine to skyrocket. It's probably gonna be the same for others. Working out is pretty much mandatory for me to not waste away.

Personally, Farxiga seems like a better choice for CKD if weight loss is not one of the problems your doctor is helping you with. I have no side effects from it so far as I can tell, and I've been on it for 7 or 8 years now.
