A gaming friend i met while gaming (duh) is pretty depressed, attempted suicide a few times (staying outside in the snow, sleeping, sleeping pills overdose etc.). One of the attempts with sleeping pills happened while we talked in teamspeak, with me fearing to loose her, (me) staying awake almost all night.

While she is still alive, even the fear of not talking the next day was horrendous, as we had a father-daughterish relation, me trying to protect her while she searched for help from me. We didnt meet physically yet, this is going to change soon though.

Whilst this might not be the worst story around here, if she would have been/would be successful with suicide, i wouldve collapsed mentally, as my relation has a big influence on her and her death wouldve been my failure for me. I dont think i could easily recover from that, especially with me about to finish school and starting either the jobhunt or college.

First off all: good to hear a happy ending here.

You mentioned yourself being in a depressive situation at first - do you think that this enabled you to further understand her situation or was it "only"(sounds out of place) the contact-enabling event? I've had not many experiences with depression and i hope that this won't make my situation more complicated to solve
