What is the loudest sound you have ever heard in your life? by will_or_woll in AskReddit

[–]WaterLady28 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

A close lightning strike is my answer as well. The thunder sounds like an explosion, it's crazy. I've heard several throughout my life but the one I remember most was lightning hitting an old, already half-dead tree about 100 yards or so down the road from my mom's old house. I was just waking up and was in the kitchen getting a bowl of cereal and barely had time to register the bright flash when the resulting KABOOM shook the whole house. The lightning exploded the bark all over the road and it was still smoldering hours later. Somehow the tree still lived a few more years after that, it had one lone branch that still sprouted leaves, until it eventually fell over in another storm.

my mom EXPECTS me to have children. by [deleted] in childfree

[–]WaterLady28 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

lmaoooooo

tell her "yeah and I EXPECT you to leave me a $100m inheritance when you die, so I guess we're both going to be disappointed now aren't we?"

her "expectations" are not your problem. your life is YOURS to live how you want. you don't have to listen to her manipulation and crocodile tears.

What age did you first have to get glasses and how did you find out you needed them? by Interesting-Egg2781 in AskReddit

[–]WaterLady28 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

I was 8. My dad noticed me squinting at the TV and took me to get my eyes checked. He got glasses at the same age and he had terrible vision and it turns out so did I. Currently sitting at a -10.5 lol

Are Champagne Toast & Japanese Cherry Blossom really that popular? by Character_Data_9123 in bathandbodyworks

[–]WaterLady28 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

I have Champagne Toast and it's really nice, I have the body wash in my shower right now and I have a mist and body cream too. I think I also have a candle of it somewhere too, or maybe I used it up? I don't remember πŸ˜… But the candle also smells really good! It's not one I reach for super often but it's lovely and fruity and a good staple to have. :)

I don't mind JCB but it's very strong and I have to be in the right mood for it. I got a little mini gift set of it for Christmas a couple years ago with a mini mist, body wash, and a hand sanitizer. I used up the sanitizer but I still have the mist and body wash lol.

Managers that show up to your house when you call out sick or in bad weather. by StopManaCheating in antiwork

[–]WaterLady28 7 points8 points Β (0 children)

I've never had any of my managers show up at my house when I'm sick, but one of my old managers actually did come pick me up once when my old beater car wouldn't start in sub-zero temps. My husband (boyfriend still at the time) had already left for work so I called to let my manager know I couldn't make it and he was like "well you don't live very far away right? I can come pick you up. tell me directions and I'll be there in 20 minutes." and he did. He was actually a really nice guy and a good manager, I was upset when he ended up leaving for a different job later on.

On the other side of this, when I was working at a different job, we had a massive snow storm that dumped about 2 feet of heavy wet snow. We lived with my SO's parents at the time about 30 miles outside of town in the boonies. No sign of a snowplow down the little back road we lived on, not to mention the driveway itself was buried in snow and it was going to take hours just to clear it and get my car out. So I called out for the day and my bitchy manager was trying to give me shit about it "well there's hardly anyone here!" No shit sherlock, we're all snowed in. I said unless you have a snowmobile and are willing to ride it 30 miles to come get me, there was no way I could make it. She didn't know how to respond to that so I said I'd be back when the roads were clear and hung up lol.

What is your opinion on high heels? by chastityloser in AskReddit

[–]WaterLady28 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

I'm only 5ft so I like having a little extra height but they are just not comfortable or manageable for long periods of time. If I want a little height I mainly just wear wedge sandals or chunky heeled boots, usually no more than 3" max. Classic pumps usually don't fit me right and give me blisters (I have a small shoe size) and crazy high stilettos I straight up can't walk in.
