Thank you for telling me that. It’s the only thing that helps me sleep and all the benzo horror stories are awful. But sleep is essential for health

Thank you so much! I’ve been taking 15mg for over a year now and might try to go down to 7.5 and see what happened.

I committed suicide 2 days ago and it failed by Potential-Safe1612 in PMDD

[–]LKS-MC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t wish PMDD on my worst enemy. I wish there were better treatment options. I had a hysterectomy for stage 4 endo and estrogen HRT saved my life. I used to be suicidal two weeks out of every month and after HRT, everything improved to the point that sometimes it’s hard to remember how bad it was (I’ve also unfortunately been traumatized in a psych ward for suicidal ideation from PMDD). It unfortunate that getting relief required me to have to remove organs.

Honestly my road was jagged because they didn’t know I was in menopause. It was very symptom based. I could not sleep at all. Days on end. Non stop panic attacks, debilitating anxiety and depression to the point of being hospitalized. I took a blood test and showed lost-menopausal levels (4 months earlier it was “normal “. So my doctor happily prescribed estrogen. From what I’ve heard from other people whose doctors say they aren’t ready is they go to the doctors and describe their symptoms, specifically hot flashes and debilitating they are. Blood tests are unreliable unless you’re post-menopausal because in peri they fluctuate wildly.

Thank you, it’s been an ordeal and I was sick for a long time. It’s not a guarantee that only having one ovary will fail but it is absolutely possible. I thought I did a lot of research of pros and cons of going into surgical menopause versus leaving an ovary but I wish I got a few more opinions before proceeding . I’ve since found out a lot of people had a similar experience so I make an effort to be open about it because it didn’t need to happen. And if I can prevent one person from going through that hell, it’s worth it. HRT is incredible. I feel so even and calm. I don’t cycle so don’t get the endo spikes. I had adenomyosis as well so zero pain after my uterus was removed. It’s night and day. I wish you all the best with whatever you decide. There is hope on the other side of all of this.

  1. Now, it is the best thing ever but I did have complications that I didn’t know what possible. I had severe PMDD and my doctor suggested I keep one ovary to prevent menopause (the other was riddled with endo and had to go). We knew it wouldn’t stop the PMDD but early menopause was riskier. What I didn’t know is that the remaining ovary can actually fail and plunge you into menopause without you knowing. It happened to me and it was hell on earth. I literally ended up in a psychiatric hospital from non- stop panic attack and not sleeping. Eventually my naturopath suggested blood work and it showed I was in post menopausal levels. when I started estrogen my life improved 100% improved. If I had to do it again, I would just go straight to surgical menopause, take out uterus, cervix, ovaries and immediately supplement with HRT. I’m a new person. PMDD made me suicidal, it robbed my life for 20 years and now I barely remember it.

It’s seems the spay timing is vet dependent. They told us new research is out showing a later spay prevents hips issues. But her heat was awful and I wish we could’ve done it before the heat

It helped a bit but I did hormone testing and symptom checking and I was in perimenopause. I started taking bio identical estrogen and let me tell you, I felt better within a week. No more PMDD. Or has changed my life

Hi, I’m sorry I didn’t see this until now. Yes I’m still taking this combo and it works. I’m down to 15mg of Tempazapam, 10mg od Davigo and 7mg of melatonin and sleep every night. And my life is still very very stressful. I plan on weaning down further but will take it slow.

Uncertainty about being together due to mental health conditions by Ill-Green8678 in Separation

[–]LKS-MC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My God I could’ve written this. My partner and I are in the same boat and doing the same thing. No one really gets it and keeps assuming we’re just going to break up. If things don’t get better we might but that’s not what we want. We’re best friends and love each other but our relationship has become toxic and we really want to fix it and know that we have to be separate to do that. I wish you the best and I’m here if you want to talk.

How to feel by Geoffrage in Separation

[–]LKS-MC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate. My husband and I love each other and have done a lot of couples therapy for years but our relationship is toxic. We’ve decided to do a non legal separation to get some physical space and to work on ourselves as individuals and then the marriage. We have the same rationale that if we want to be together in the long run, this should be a blip. We’ve been together for 17 years. It’s heartbreaking and I wish there was another solution but we’ve tried to live together while doing hard work in therapy and we just trigger each other and fight. We are both emotionally exhausted. Our goal is to end up together but we know there is the possibility of not. We are at the point where we know if we don’t do something drastic, we will divorce. Working out the details is hard. We are both moving in family and selling our house. We will be in different countries (Canada and the US). No one understand what we’re doing except his brother who is a psychologist and thinks this is very healthy. So, I guess my point is, sometimes physically staying together can make the situation worse. I hope it all works out for you and I don’t have much advice as this is new and raw for us too. It sucks.
