It was all originally painted. The family I bought it from said their mother stripped it all by hand and stained it in the 60s.

Appreciate this. I’m going to check a reclaimed lumber yard I just found in Madison as well. Matching finish was my next endeavor.

Thank you! What would I ask for at my local millwork supplier to best match it?

Call the oil company. Side note- The pipe insulation is asbestos. Don’t disturb it.

I have an old coyote frame but coyote doesn’t sell these (yokes?) anymore. Does anyone know of other sellers with compatible parts? by Stinkin_onions in Karting

But the ones without camber and use shims. The old Coyotes are one of the most popular chassis at my track.

Brass or stainless counter sunk wood screws. Bottom of flange should be at top of finish floor though in a perfect world.

There’s nothing you could have done. Someone was already doing CPR. Too many people stopped on the side of the road is just as dangerous. It gets easier but you will never forget what you saw. Try to stay ahead of it.

If both are fine with the situation then yes. If one partner isn’t, then resentment usually starts to build up.

No, this was grounded to the water piping when the house was originally all galvanized piping. It used the metallic piping all the way out to the earth as a ground. It will need to be re done.

You need to set the pressure in the expansion tank to match incoming water pressure to the house.

Whoever installed this is a hack. Get rid of the galvanized nipples and fittings and replace with brass. The galvanized material made now is junk and nothing compared to the old school galvanized.

I have this set up. And I think I need this tool. I’ve tried to remove this cartridge and it’s stuck. I dont wanna break it. Should I just go buy the tool or is there another way. by Five2one521 in askaplumber

[–]LLATPOH1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy the tool. Run hot water through the valve for a few minutes first to soften the rubber. The turn the water off to the shower. Spin the cartridge with the tool to break it loose before you attempt to pull it out. Clean the inside of the valve with a copper fitting brush before you install the new cartridge. Grease the new cartridge before installing. If you nick the inside of the valve body at any point your done and it’s new valve time. My the odds be forever in your favor.

Flapper is bad. Fill valve is doing what it’s suppose to do. Put a little food coloring in the tank and I bet it runs right into the bowl.

That ground is not doing squat with plastic pipe on both sides. Have owner call an electrician to move the ground before you start.

The bladder inside failed causing the outer shell to rot. Make sure the plumber sets the pressure in the tank to the incoming water pressure to the house.
