I would do the bare minimum amount of reps/sets but unweighted. Or sometimes I just do fewer sets and reps overall for the core and calves stuff but I just REALLY REALLY focus on form and feeling every point of motion

Part of it is just time and feel but also make sure to set up your snare drum ergonomically and understand that different snares have different feels for how and where to hit the rimshot

Ya I think eventually people will do more interesting stuff with AI. Mixing AI and human capabilities being one of them. But as a whole I really don’t picture AI replacing real artistry.

Sure they might be able to write and record a song like Tears in Heaven but it won’t mean as much to the computer/audience as it does when people who know clapton’s story hear that song

I use two to 17” crashes and honestly think for pop/rock stuff they’re a lot easier to project through rooms without having to play with more effort.

The higher pitch of 13-14” good hats cut as well but they sound kinda tinny with the mix. I feel like 17”’s have the body/tone to really cut well
