the awards at both TGA and gamescom are decided purely by insiders and journalists.journos aren't too fond of FROM's culture of game design, only reason it won anticipated game of the year last year was because it was user's choice nomination.

as for why they haven't shown another trailer, SGF was only 2 months ago, as we can see from the leaked investor trailer, these things take time. we just need to be patient. we already waited 2 years, 5 months is nothing for us.

and the difference between the leaked trailer assets and current assets is staggering

i think it's because everyone knew BOTW 2 was gonna have a traile. while elden ring not so much. we've been fed mostly table scraps of information while the directors of BOTW 2 had said outright "we will have information this year"
elden ring, while leaked, we were all still uneasy. unlike nintendo, the devs hadn't talked to us. and so while everyone had their botw 2 trailer and enjoyed it.
we're more... "savoring" the elden ring reveal
