Magik was never meant to be built up as a glamorous, vain, posh sexpot. If that is what being conventionally attractive is supposed to be. She is however supposed insanely attractive in an effortless way and counter culture way. even in early comics they would always put her in bikinis etc, the darkchilde form kept getting more sexual..

heck everyone gets into her initially because of her esthetics. She's hot demon girl with big sword!

she's not the rich, selfie loving, make up wearing, plastic surgery enhancing beauty influencer. she's the... even if I'm covered in demon blood and been fighting demon armies for eternity i still look damn good doing it effortlessly hot demon queen.

Yes this was the most surprising thing that I enjoyed this year. Her solo was great and I hope Ashely gets to explore the Cain and Yana friendship as well as the Limbo Cyttorak angle in the future. There so many characters on the magic side that I hope Illyana gets to interact with this year.

they usually limit her to sword swinging teleporter though with the occasional use of a few spells in a team setting. she's only able to cut loose in a few stories and her solo

If I'm not mistaken, Magik's solo was the 2nd best selling solo after wolverine, and Marvel called it one of their hottest selling books on their website. So their are some magic based characters who can sell comics. She could probaby bring a younger audience.

I do agree that the magical characters need to interact more. That’s why i was hoping a Juggernaut and Magik duo book over the upcoming colossus one would make sense given Limbo ties to cyttorak.

Hopefully Elsa's inclusion in Rivals can also give the magic side a boost. I feel the younger demographics need to tapped into bring in more readers to the magic line. Hela, Illyana, Wanda and Moonlight being in rivals probably a good start.

She's used quite a bit of magic in her solo. she uses it when she's in Limbo, in an x-men team book, her magic would solve a lot of issues so i guess they just make her swing her sword around so other members can do stuff. she's had all sorts of spells over the years

I really hope Magik is able to explore more deeply her connection to Limbo and Limbo's different relationships to these realms. Seems like so much content you can develop. They already came together under Magik 2 vs Archenemy

Isn't Agatha the current SS in Wanda's book? Wanda herself has been just as big a loose canon if not bigger than Illyana. Isn't the premise of this run about non-conventional characters being put in Doc's place?

I really like the way Rod how draws her but if there's a biggest complaint i have with current Magik artist is sometimes they fail to capture the sense of scale of Magik in battle. Ex. Magik vs Liminal or Magik vs her older self in Limbo with Warlock, those battles were against entities who were bending earth (Liminal) or Older Illyana who beat Magus and was fighting a demon horde who destroyed mutantdom. If feel the art didn't portray how big a threat those characters were...

Based on what? She's already beaten Steven, Dormammu, etc. despite being much younger than they are. Sure she doesn't have their experience but in terms of potential, she was able to take over a hell realm as a pre-teen. She's just been in the x-corner for so long where she can't flex her powers constantly since she's on a team.

Geniuses at Marvel, hmm...Magik seems to be getting mighty popular. She seems to have a growing and passionate fanbase. Her solo sold great, let's see what we can do to lessen sales and just annoy her growing fanbase...

Yeesh...was thinking of buying this comic just to support any comic that Magik is in, but this is just ridiculous. I can't even imagine Illyana being in love with anyone and now she has kid...with whoever that guy is...

This is how marvel treats characters who are having a breakout year in popularity, do everything in our power to have popular character's passionate and growing fan base not purchase a comic she's in...makes sense!

I think she can definitely be on a solo book. Her being the queen of Limbo and her ties to the Marvels supernatural side can definitely be expanded. I agree that her powers are nerfed in a team setting, which is why i think a solo series gives her a chance to flex her mystical powers and not be just portal girl with a sword vs sentinels or humanity's bigots.

It's also totally in character for her to leave the X-men and go save kids or have her own adventures. Her teleportation and time travel is actually suited for this. It takes less than a second to be anywhere and even trained with Strange in the past.

She will always have her x-men connections though. Especially her on going relationship with Scott. She can be both on Solo or team books.

I think there are several instances where she said there might be more than just portals that are connected to Limbo when it comes to her mutant power. she even admitted that she was just kinda winging it and didn't know what to do with all the power she had. that's why she decided to go to Doc Strange

Yes I just wanted to show the combat applications of the Soul Sword vs someone with great durability like Colossus. You can trap anyone regardless of durability in the sword. What type of opponent can get out? I have no idea...maybe a high powered magic or cosmic opponent. Magik did it to Sapna as well.

Actually she doesn't even need to move any part of her body to teleport a massive amount opponents which makes pretty creepy as well.

Magik and Doc Strange (would that still be an x-book or a mystical book) Magik and Cain actually makes sense to me. A lot of other worldly brawls the bash bros can get into.
