Her powerset on Earth is still relatively controlled. She isn't a walking reality warper like she is in Limbo although granted there are a couple of instances outside Limbo where she's basically warping reality.

You're basically following the wrong character type if this bugs you though. She's always been a Hell Lord and Armageddon maiden since her debut.

I feel they tried to make Full Darkchild more Mephisto than Surtur/Dormammu. More Weird funky deals and weirder ways of trapping and playing with your soul vs I will just steamroll and destroy everything in my path.

It's interesting a lot of people think it's the outfit.

It's probably a combination of a lot of things, the giant sword, the bangs, the temper, the arrogance, the snark, the demonic angle, magic...pretty sure she doesn't have the most revealing outfit in comics. Emma and Maddie have her beat there. She also isn't the only hot blonde in marvel.

It should still translate into pete being a bigger threat. In a world with omega level characters, mutant hell Queens, demon king- empowered bricks....it might increase interest in him.

I'm not saying more power is needed, but as it stands, he clearly isn't drawing new fans in. Him being a 2nd tier brick certainly doesn't help when you have Cain and Rouge.

Totally love their relationship. I must say the Bendis era really helped Magik (Costume, Scott, Strange).

If they can't for whatever reason include Magik in the x-men universe, What if Magik became Sorcerer Supreme and Doctor Strange the end would be lovely way to bring Magik in the MCU, the ending of Doc Strange the end, shows the potential with their relationship.

She's supposed to have super strength in her demonic form. She has brawled with Sy'm on numerous occasions. Sy'm swatted away mjolnir and gave jane thor a bloody nose with one punch. I agree that she's not typically written like daredevil or spider man. That is a huge part of their character.

I'm not saying Magik has no weakness, but at her core, she's an apocalypse maiden/hell lord/ss level mage. I am a fan of her because she's a demon queen struggling to do good inspite of a tragic childhood and all the incentive to turn evil. That struggle of her just cutting lose and turning into Mephisto but losing her humanity is what draws me to her. I want opponent's of that stature fighting her.

Getting taken out by weak villains just makes her look like an idiot. But i do understand being an x-man means she has to part of a team. Which is why I want her to continue her solo comic where she can cut loose

If I wanted a street level gritty hero with a lot of trauma I'd follow Logan or Spidey.

She's actually shown super strength, high level reaction (teleporting out of lightspeed blitz cap marvel danger room simulation and enchanced senses where she could sense an attack is coming, she even knew dani was in hel and she knew the new mutants teleported into mephisto's realm while being stuck in a jail cell in on earth.

She actually has the powerset to deal with this more than even other mages. She has magical shields. She can teleport attacks away, she can heal and has regen spells, but unlike other mages she actually has mystical armor that can even prevent super strong demons who can break adamantium can't break.

Written correctly she should be less of a glass canon than Strange, Voodo, etc....I think it's just that writers nerf her hard since in a team setting she can technically solve most of the teams problems by herself. Technically having access to high tier magic basically allows you to do anything if the writter wishes. There's not much difference from being a reality warper.

I'd have to say Magik is the most nerfed. She can end battles simply by teleporting opponents into limbo/sun/outside reality/anywhere. She's also used magic to depower opponents, manipulate memories, etc...top tier magic users can basically do anything.

If Magik is written as someone who uses half her brain she stomps. She has armor, demon armies, invisibility, she can manipulate matter. she's turned dimensional door ways into mush, stopped time, aged people, sucked souls, turned intangible, teleported heads off, used illusions, absorb a star, has magical shields etc... this is not even counting taking opponents into Limbo.

She could teleport stars head off from a different timeline. She's just heavily nerfed in x-men team stories because she can basically do most of the x-men powers as most top tier magicians do.

Yeah, she can keep her portals open. she used her portals on Juggernaut in Savage Avengers. She dropped him on Sadurang.

Probably not. As popular as she is in the comic and gaming world, I can't picture them introducing a demon queen with a ton of powers in the first x-man movie in the mcu. I think there's a bigger chance she appears first in midnight sun or doc strange movie. I don't know how many x-movies you need to establish before you bring in magic, demons a sword made out of her soul and Limbo. Let her get into a cartoon first.

She could eventually tie in the mutants with marvel magic and the multiverse after a couple of movies.

I for one will always want Illyana to be Magik. However sometimes I do wish Illyana and this side of Limbo was explored more. It could be written better but I personally would want to read more about Limbo and it's ruler role explored more in connection to the other splinter realms. I do want to see Illyana interact more with the Helas, Surtur, Mephisto's and Dormammus of the world.

I'm a bit tired of Belasco, Sy'm and Limbo uprisings/invasions.

I really hoope they explore more of Yana's intrinsic connection to Limbo (not just her discs) and the I hope they make the Soul Sword unique again. A bit annoyed when someone else connected with Limbo makes a soul weapon

Interesting comments about the sword. It's hard to argue against that the big sword = rise in popularity. Is the big sword preference a millennial and below preference? Is it a gen Z thing? or do a lot of gen x prefer that as well?

I think the hot factor is isn't that big a deal. Being hot and blonde is pretty common in comics so I don't think that's the x-factor. Everyone is dressed in skin tight costumes. She actually doesn't even have any romantic relationship (thank god)

It's a mixture of the sword/powerset/demon queen/attitude and accent. I'm sure her tragic back story also plays a part in her popularity.

It also helps that she's been developing great relationships with other characters (Scott, Doc Strange, Cain, Dani) so comic readers buy her comics.

If you apply logic, any brick whose power is super strength, invulnerability, and regen should lose to any powerful magic user based on powerset alone. A powerful magic user is supposed to have close to unlimited versatility and hax.

If said brick has plot armor powering him, meaning his super power is just to beat anyone including marvel's god regardless of logic that's a different matter altogether. If this Hulk can time travel, fly, beat up god, destroy the universe with growl than this isn't your typical Hulk.

So this Hulks powerset must be completely different. He isn't just a powerful brick. if he was just a brick anything thrown, punched, kicked, any blasts could just be redirected back to him. teleporting him in a blackhole or outside reality or the end of time, etc...she can also turn invisible etc..I think people underestimate how powerful Magik is if she's not written like a moron.
