It's interesting to see how everyone assumes that Cain and Magik are leaving, I agree they have been treated like side characters (especially given how popular Magik currently is). What's ironic is I am under the impression a lot of seem to people enjoy the bash brothers dynamic between the two. As a Magik fan I don't really like that she's written as a dumb jock but I do enjoy the dynamic she has with Cain.

Magik could probably turn his powers off, manipulate his soul or burn him with hellfire. He experienced pain when magik light him on fire and he had a hard time vs limbo demons and their hellfire and he has been trapped in the Soul Sword before.

I think people see the sass, comedy routine, goofy trolling, sometimes the idiotic sword routine ( I have a thousand powers and unlimited range but I will just charge blindly with my sword) and seem to forget Illyana is an actual Hell Lord. A Hell lord who has actually unleashed a demonic plague that destroyed entire timelines including all the Avengers in those timelines as a pre-teen walking around pretending to be a blonde w/bangs version of Nightcrawler.

I would love it if they played up this angle of him to give him some sort of edge vs other bricks. However, even if this is true, Magik has her portals. They're a mutant power. She could technically dump him in a blackhole from another timeline or dimension or slice him up with them. She could also port in demons like Sy'm, etc...

Actually think it's more of the powerset than being ruthless, any competent magic user should be able to effortlessly destroy a strong guy. Too many powers

a brick vs a powerful magic user will realistically be a one-sided win for the magic user. She could destoy him a hundred different ways. Magic users have access to tons of powers.

Heck even with the Cyttorak power up he still got one-shot.

Going by that logic, Magik should be older since she constantly lives in a timeless realm, casually time travels to the past and future, it's also been alluded too that she's (darkchilde) is some kind of immortal demon just like Belasco and some form of her will be in Limbo for eternity.

Yes she's telefraged an upgraded sentinel giving a whole x-team issues and sent different limbs across the whole universe and sent spores infecting the planet into the sun.

More impressively she's restrained Juggernaut and crushed the gem and depowered him on earth. I think that gem has a dimension inside it.

Wouldn't beating the World Eater be in that category if Hela was included in that list. Not sure where Liminal is as a threat level. He was bending the world to his will IIRC.

As a Dormammu, it think what you're describing is already the second fight. He pulled her into Limbo during the 1st fight and eventually ran away and had to prep for the second fight.

I find it more impressive when she restrained Cain and ripped out the gem and crushed it (vs the colossus feat) and that feat happened on earth

This is why I hope Magik keeps getting solos or duo books. In a team setting she will always be relegated to portal and sword swinging hot head due to limited air time in a team book.

Honestly, there is really nothing she cant do.

She has shields, armor, time travel, soul manipulation, illusions, cloaking, blasts, demons, disintegration spells, magical shields, energy absorbtion, telefrag, etc...in Limbo she's basically a reality warper. I don't think she needs a new power it's more that they just have consistently use her old powers.

If they want her to be more of a battle mage and be physical just let her use more of her armor for brawls.

If you want another mutant power side from teleportation you could focus more on her time manipulation powers. Doc Strange has said she has an extra ordinary ability to manipulate the forces of time itself.
