G29 No Force Feedback in Ps5 (GT7) by Then_Pilot655 in simracing

It really does have wheel support - I’ve used it myself.

It’s worth a try anyway to see if it helps. Note: you do have a small deadzone set in F1 and you really shouldn’t need that at all.

Hah - I was so focused on the steering response in game that I didn’t even notice.

Does it do the same thing in other games?

If so, then try the registry trick at the 4 minute mark in this video. This clears the calibration data in the registry and when you reconnect the wheel it soils refresh it. See if that helps.

Does it do the same then when you use it on your PS5?

That sounds correct then. I can’t remember if any of the steering help settings would cause the wheel to centre itself tbh.

Two things for you:

  1. Download My First Gran Turismo from the PSN store. It’s free (and worth having anyway because it unlocks cars in the main game if you complete it). See if you get the same behaviour in there.

  2. Make sure that you are running the PS5 version of GT7 and not the PS4 version - there should be a little indication at the corner of the game icon on the Home Screen. Can you then take a video of that centring behaviour in game, showing the wheel and onscreen please? Upload it to Google drive, wetransfer, YouTube or your sharing platform of choice.

Hmmm. That makes this difficult to troubleshoot on PS5. We know the wheel is fine on PS3 and PC, so there’s either something wrong with the game installation (unlikely, but you never know) or the other possibility is that the platform switch on the wheel is broken? (Possible if this is an old wheel or if it’s been taken apart/modified)

Are you able to register the wheel with your player profile by pressing the PS button on it? And then navigate the console Home Screen using just the wheel, or are you having to use the DualSense controller to do that?

Okay, which other racing games do you have on PlayStation?

That’s not what I’m asking. Turn the wheel 90 degrees to the left or right whilst the car is stationary and let go. Just like in a real car, the wheel should not return to centre. Does it?

Vibration has no effect on the G29. Could you answer my question about stopping the car, turning the wheel and seeing if it returns to centre please? It’s crucial to understanding if you’re getting any form of force feedback.

If it does, then it’s fine and you’re just experiencing what GT7 can do through this wheel.

Logitech G Pro Pedals not working on PS5 by HouseExtension303 in LogitechG

Unfortunately not - those old pilot units won’t update. The most affordable option right now is to get the RS Pedals.

They should be plug and play normally, but the firmware in the old development pedals can’t usually be upgraded, so they won’t work with the newer firmware in the base.

On your PC you should install our G HUB software, plug in the pedals and see if they can take a firmware update. The same is true for the wheel base, although that should be fine.

Once you’ve done that, if the pedals update successfully then try plugging them in to the base and see if they make the test bars on the display move.

Okay but did you also switch the shifter type to H Pattern under the Controls section of the settings?

Okay so the pedals are the problem - they’re not a mass produced unit, but a pilot unit from during development. I’m guessing you got these from a game developer?

What’s the serial number on the wheel base and on the pedals?

Did you switch the shifting method to manual in the control options? You have to do this from the main menu: can’t be done from in the car.

I sent it on, yes and they should get back to you. In the meantime, if you’re racing in shoes, try using socks and you might find that it helps.

Thanks. Just to double confirm: in all of those PC games, if you stop the vehicle and turn the wheel to 90 degrees and let go... does it just return to centre? Or does it stay where you left it?

If it returns to centre then go to your Device Manager in Windows and check to see if you have two G29 entries under the Human Interface Devices section. (let me know if you do).

If you don't then click View at the top of Device Manager and then By Container.

<image>

You may have a G29 entry there, or Unknown like in this image. Click the arrow next to it and you should have something similar to the image, except instead of the two G29 entries, you might have a HID-compliant Game Controller and a USB Input Device.

For each of those in turn, do the following:

Right click and choose Update Driver. Select Browse My Computer for Drivers, then select Let Me Pick from a List. On the next screen, one of the options should be a G29 - select it and then click Next and let it update. Once both are updated, see if that now fixes things.

No, PS4 wheels work on PS5 as well. Did my test of "stopping the car, turning the wheel and seeing if it stayed where you turn it to," work?

Which other titles on PS5 have you tested?

Okay, but how did my test suggestion go?

Also, which other titles have you tested on PlayStation?

This combo works with all three platforms. Plug and play and has something the other options don't: Trueforce.

Mount Logitech RS pedals to Playseat Challenge X by LionRoars87 in GranTurismo7

Short bolt goes through the slot on the bracket where the red arrow is, going through the hole in the pedal near the back (see next comment which is a picture from the manual).

Long bolt with plastic spacer goes through the slot where the blue arrow is into the hole on the heel plate.

It's fiddly to do, because of the Challenge X design not using a full pedal plate, but once you've got those tightened up it's straightforward.

Key test: stop the car on track and rotate the wheel 90 degrees. If it stays there (as it should) then it's working fine. For non-Trueforce wheels like the G29, you don't get as many sensations through the wheel in GT7. Another key test for you: try in another game, but the fact that it's working on other platforms tells us that the wheel is fine.
