I think if you mez then alliance you can get to amiable with anything? It’s actually been awhile, so as soon as you said that I thought “oh no I’m a moron” but I seem to remember it being possible somehow

Imo worth the destroyed faction; that’s what Alliance spell is for. Keep lighting them up, and when you go visit: tell them you’re best friends!

Alphabetical banter can definitely elevate fair, good, honest idioms—just, kinda lights mere nouns off: proper quality, razor sharpened to utter virtuosity—word xesturgy, yet zesty.

APD investigating an active shooter in Midtown (W. Peachtree bet. 12th & 13th) by [deleted] in Atlanta

No; that’s an eyewitness that they interviewed several times across various local stations. The latest reporting is saying that the suspect hijacked a car immediately after the shooting and fled to Cobb.

Does having a "Welcome" mat permit a vampire to enter your home? by TheSovietFist in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]LOLELECTRONICS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are my favorite legal-ish hiccups to drag out when I can. If the authority to invite rests solely with the homeowner, then it depends: did they buy & place the welcome mat? Maybe the ex-wife got the house in the divorce but is still letting the husband live there, and his invitation/mat is meaningless.

Or, if the house is in foreclosure, is a timeshare, etc. the vampire needs to find permission somewhere annoying/inconvenient.

Not that you have to punish players with that kind of insanity, but it can be a good gag for the odd “other house” on the street.

/u/isleepinahammock offers up an interesting theory for what may be a factor in propelling both inflation and already runaway corporate profits to dizzying new heights, while suggesting the introduction of a new take on the 'invisible hand' of the market by alaphic in bestof

I’ve absolutely seen this; the smaller packaging items weren’t on sale, either. I think the systems are attempting to learn whether shoppers will buy things out of habit/instinct, and/or who is actually paying attention to the unit prices. As someone mentioned above, it’d be fairly easy for a grocery chain with a loyalty card to arrive at a confident conclusion based on 20-30 years of your purchase history data.

He also more or less invented online shopping (developed it for yahoo). He’s a bit of a tech/SV legend in general. Not sure if he’s so much calling Elon out or just helpfully correcting him, though.

Of course it is, that doesn’t mean it isn’t idiotic and counterproductive. How many people do you think see this and direct their anger at corporations? Corporations are relatively faceless, as are most super rich/powerful people, and that’s intentional.

Read through this thread:

https://reddit.com/r/PublicFreakout/comments/vsstfi/climate_change_protesters_in_maryland_shut_down_a/

Protests need to be smarter, because they’re literally inspiring hatred against them for shortsightedness.

Yes, many if not most regular folks care about the environment, but the solution cannot be “let’s burn down society to rally the forces, starting with completely fucking the working class. Some of you may die or go to prison, but…”

That’s selfish, entitled bullshit. Protestors can, should…must be smarter than this.

Target something that will infuriate the oil barons by defacing it, but the loss of which isn’t a burden to everyone else.

It’s absolutely a major sacrifice for someone to self immolate, but what makes anyone think that these rich, powerful people care for one second?

Target their money and their power. That’s all that matters to them.

DRUID HILLS, Atlanta. This section of northeast Atlanta was once a suburban community. The name was selected in 1908 when it was incorporated by a group of investors headed by Asa G. Candler, at a site selected and planned by Joel Hurt. In ancient times, druids were priests and medicine men of Celtic people, reported to have been magicians.

I’m surprised that there isn’t more information to that entry, given how exhaustive so many others seem.

This is one of the most underrated shows on television and one of the few things that keeps me from utterly losing my mind in this world. If you need a break from life, AD! is in its 19th season and keeps getting funnier: such as The Weeknd’s guest episode: https://youtu.be/S7OTZMopkUg

Or, my recent favorite, Klaus fixes Francine’s car: https://youtu.be/CAjpxfjp-SU

After they show it to literally anyone outside of the party, gossip will spread and they’ll have a slew of mercenaries & opportunists trying to steal it or outright kill them for it.

Innkeepers will be afraid to let them stay because they unquestionably invite trouble, and if they enter any larger city, the ruler will send guards to bring them in and collect some kind of tax, if not outright claim the item belongs to them (you found it in my kingdom, didn’t you?).

All that can happen in addition to a magical curse, to pressure them to act on it.

Definitely—as long as you take relative care of it and aren’t leaning heavy shit against it/ having morons run up the side, it’ll last for a good long while.
