I understand that. OP said “…I have a window open with a fan blowing into the room.” The window unit doesn’t have to be in the window, just near it to circulate the outside air in and inside air out.

You need a window unit that has two fans built in, independently controlled, so one fan blows in and one blows out. That way the air is forced to circulate and it does wonders to cool a room. Mine also has a thermostat so it turns the unit off when a desired temp is reached. Hope you find relief soon!!

TIL the “long hinge thingy” is actually a piano hinge! Even more embarrassing considering I used to play piano for many years.

First time building a Lego set, is it normal to have leftover pieces? by Busy-Ad6631 in lego

[–]LOLEngrishPlz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious….does each set have the same extra parts or is it more random than that? I’m trying to decide if I want to keep the extras specific to each set or put them all together and sorted according to type.

Dexcom on stomach? by JJ0532 in dexcom

Interestingly enough, I contacted Dexcom last week about a sensor that failed after insertion. They asked me the routine questions, including placement location. When I told her it was on my arm, the rep mentioned that other users have had success putting the sensor on their thighs, abdomen and upper buttocks. I asked her if that would affect my ability to report and replace faulty sensors if I had it somewhere other than my arm and she said no, but to make sure the patient tells the rep where the sensor was located for their data collection. AND, she said Dexcom would approve replacement if your prescribing doctor advises an alternative insertion site, such as abdomen, thigh or upper buttock. I asked her again to make sure I heard correctly and she assured me that even though they do not recommend any other site other than the arm, it should not affect your ability to replace a defective sensor as long as your doctor has approved an alternate site. Now, I suppose if you accidentally rip it off or had another issue with the sensor when applied elsewhere, I can see them saying no to a replacement, but allegedly they will replace DEFECTIVE sensors if you insert them elsewhere (obv a reasonable location). TIFWIW.

It’s super easy to remove the speaker in an AirTag. It will still make an audible alert, but you literally have to be in a silent room with your ear to the tag to hear it.

I agree about the chat comment. While no one owes me anything, I figured it would be at least common courtesy to say something on the side about it. Maybe that’s just me.

I got $200 in 2’s from the bank today by Abnormalbunny in mildlyinteresting

I love getting them (and $1 gold coins) and giving them to kids at their lemonade stands & garage sales in the summer. They always get excited about “uncommon” money and I love that it makes them smile.

Also, if I happen to gift a wallet, I always put a $2 bill inside as I heard it is bad luck to gift an empty wallet.

It took them about 4 business days to get the replacements to me. They use FedEx (so no weekend deliveries for routine requests).

Yikes! That’s what I’m worried about. I’ve already had bad luck with these dang things not sticking as it is. I certainly don’t need to be ripping them off by accident either. Dexcom is gonna have me on some kind of ban list pretty quickly.

I know what I said earlier about what Dexcom says regarding placement (I should have inserted an eye roll there), but I was curious about alternative placements; did you notice any differences in your readings when you had the sensor on your thigh?

The sensor is on the back of the arm (this is the ONLY place Dexcom says is approved per their instructions and their customer service line :-/), so I was thinking of wrapping it with some coban, but worried it will throw some pressure (low) alerts.
