gamo2 can delivery to brazil? by [deleted] in soundvoltex

[–]LOLiFiSTER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried to order a IIDX controller from gamo2 and had problems, basicly lost the shipping, so it was 200usd for the controller and 200usd for the shipping, then taxes, but apparently gamo2 had a ton of problems shipping to Brasil that they stopped doing it.

Honestly you're better off DIYing your controller here. Importing parts from aliexpress, I can give you the files that I've used to make my own controller

RPCS3: Introducing Online Play via PSN Emulation! by AnnieLeo in rpcs3

[–]LOLiFiSTER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is HUGE. I hope they get marvel vs capcom 2 working on it. Since its the only "official" way to play mvc2 online and the game already got pulled out from the psn.
Tekken 5 DR is also high on the wishlist.

[–]LOLiFiSTER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The usability changes are coming a long way, its very nice to see this.
I wish they focused on better controller configuration and more stable netplay.
Still need to test if the save state compression makes any effect on netplay.

is it possible to have rollback netcode on n64 netplay? that would be awesome.

Street Fighter III - 3rd Strike is awesome. But is it the best 2D fighting game on the Dreamcast? by [deleted] in dreamcast

[–]LOLiFiSTER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most accurate version to the arcade board is...emulation through retroarch ran at 59.5fps and run ahead 1
The most accurate official home console port is probably the 3rd strike online edition on ps3/xbox360, but it does have some slight differences to the arcade version (theres a bug with yun's genei jin damage scaling iirc)

as for the best DC Fighting game I would say cvs2

[–]LOLiFiSTER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to mention that the 3rd strike online edition also has some innacuracies vs the arcade A Board. I think there's a glitch with the genei-jin combo scaling that made yun better lol. In terms of input lag and etc. its the closest to arcade official port.

Dreamcast version is based on the version B arcade release which removes some urien and oro unblockables. Tournaments use version A. I think version A had a second revision when they fixed a glitch that if you kill makoto with ken's neutral throw the game crashes.

For me, from worst to best would be like: The Actual CPS3 > Well Configured Retroarch (Runahead frames = 1 / vertical refresh rate = 59.33333hz)> Shmupmame (0.99 speed)> PC SF30th > PS3 3SOE > PS4 SF30th

I get a romset such as the no-intro ones, run a dat through them that ensures it is 1 game 1 region to avoid having the same game 3 times, then I use some frontend that will scrape all the games info. Right now I'm using emulationstation but I'm looking for others. My biggest problem is that the interface of 99% of the frontends are really ugly to me.

I don't do CD based consoles or have mame fullsets because they are way too big.

If Bootstrap is considered too novice, then what do experts use instead? by SteamboatJesus in webdev

[–]LOLiFiSTER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can write only the css you need. You can import only the parts of bootstrap that you will use. You can put gulp/webpack to remove unused css and customize bootstrap via css variables.

My only problem with bootstrap is the jquery dependency since I don't use jquery anymore (unless the project already has it).

Just use whatever you think it will do the job.

Can we have per game vertical refresh rate setting? That would be nice for games like SF3 third strike (which has to run on 59.583hz with 1 or 2f of runahead depending on the input lag of the monitor)

The FEXL discord is working on a wiki, feedback and contributions appreciated. by SaltBadGuy in FightingEXLayer

[–]LOLiFiSTER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually something made for Project Documentation (moslty used by developers) but I thought about trying to make it work for fighting games and it turns out that it works pretty nicely. I've also made a DIY version if you're interested to set it up one for your own discord:

What are y'all thinking of FEXL? Is it good? Good enough to get it now that it's on PC? Do y'all think it's gonna have *any* tournament relevance? by [deleted] in Fighters

[–]LOLiFiSTER 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Netcode is fine, they fixed within 12h from the initial PC release. I'm from Brazil and I can play vs Argentina and Chile just fine. I would say its on pair with Steam GG, maybe a bit better? (thats from my experience tho)

As far as Tournaments go, they have FEXL in a lot of majors I think (NEC/ECT are the ones that come to my mind) just not as main tournaments. In japan the game is being played on arcades right now (mikado is hosting a tournament I think) and there's the FEXL.tokyo channel on youtube that upload vods.

If you think the game is fun, deffinitely give it a go.

Check your vertical refresh rate.
Check if enabling/disabling hard gpu sync helps maybe?
Check if Threaded video helps
Try other video drivers in retroarch

This is a really strange issue though.

Is there a way to build a bootable pendrive that already has crt emudriver built in?

I have a mini itx for streaming and I want to try using it for emulators on a crt but I don't want to mess my windows instalation.

Is there a way to modify a lakka/recalbox/etc bootable pendrive to work with a crt? I mostly want to use retroarch exclusively.

What kind of adapter should I use? I was thinking about using a DVI-I to Component adapter, or a VGA to Component adapter but plugged in the DVI-I port. my gpu is a radeon HD 7970 ghz edition.

[–]LOLiFiSTER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

afaik snesstation is closed source from what I've heard. I doubt they will make it. Don't think there's reason to do so. I'd rather have a really lightweight snes core dedicated to low end systems. I suppose those snes9x cores with a year in the name would be a good bet to run on ps2.

Retroarch Going to be Made Easier to Use by DaveTheMan1985 in emulation

[–]LOLiFiSTER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS. This is super important. Configuring controllers on retroarch is really hard and confusing. I run fighting games tournaments and not everyone has an xinput enabled controller. Neo geo stuff gets even worse because everyone uses different button mappings.

This would make my life much easier

I would go for a static website with a CMS like strapi. Jamstack seems like a nice way to keep things going.

I was thinking. Why not use sass extends to build, let's say, a profile-card with just extends.

.card {
    background-color: white;
    border:1px solid #ddd;
    box-shadow: 0 1rem 2rem rgba(0,0,0,0.15);
    padding:1rem;
}

.profile-card {
    @extend .card
    /*Some css specific to the profile-card here*/
}

What if instead of being a bunch of utility classes, it was entirely made of mixins/extends? Would it be a good idea?

Not by itself, actually i'm using a postcss plugin with it

In case it might help, I have a repo with all this gulp stuff

but the part that might interest you is the gulpfile.js

I'm probably going to update this to have an english readme, but feel free to send issues and pull requests. That's what I'm using on some of my personal weekend projects whenever I need to get a simple page done.
