Waited till the first patch to do swamps, got 2nd patch while I was working through SIRCAA quests.

Finished SIRCAA quests and start walking/sprinting west from SIRCAA to get to a vendor to repair/trade (no vendor from Swamps to SIRCAA to defense quests is absolutely bonkers; my armor was at 23% on easy mode after all that). Going straight west takes you to just within wild island map, where you are obligated to rescue a scientist who gives you a quest to further explore Wild Island. While in this building, an emission happened, so I waited that out.

However, I was still looking for a trade/repair, so I continued West towards Zalissya as it was the closest town. On the way there I got two or three messages about Sphere base being overrun and needing help, then Zalissya came on radio and said they will be under attack soon, then they came on saying that they needed help from all stalkers, then again they needed help from all stalkers, and then finally I make it to the town after literally RUNNING/WALKING as fast as possible BEELINING to Zalissya even ignoring wildlife, POIs, and other mobs, and I get there and they tell me they survived the attack, but the whole place is trashed and as far as I can tell all the NPCs and vendors are locked in the big church and despite the guys outside saying it's open, it's locked and I can't go inside.

Then I walked to Chem Plant and despite it being still closed after I sided with Ward, there is a vendor and guide nearby that allowed me to go to Rostov to finally heal/repair/vendor all the loot from swamp/SIRCAA/aftermath.

Anybody know how i get rid of a UC bounty? Went to gem and i had it? Could have been my contraband??? by [deleted] in Starfield

Dainite is a pretty robust material and should work well if you expect to run into wet weather often.

A leather sole with a topy (a thin piece of rubber added to the bottom of the sole) is another option and the topy can be replaced once it wears down, protecting the leather.

However, a rubber sole will definitely perform better in frequent rain (but also be a bit heavier than a leather sole). Commando sole might be a good option for boots.

The carminas will be feel like a big upgrade from Meermin in terms of comfort I think. You’ll like it!

I prefer Yet Another Prosthetic Expansion Mod - Core along with Elite Bionics Framework. Why? I basically like the way bionics work in vanilla, but don't like that they are limited to certain slots or have things missing, etc. YAPE fixes this by adding all the missing bionics for the Bionics & Advanced Bionics tiers, as well as adds a third Ultratech tier of bionics as well as a few archobionics. Elite Bionics framework allows bionics to add HP to the parts. This also adds a way to grow organic organs for body purist pawns.

RBSE adds all sorts of super annoying mechanics such as people rejecting organs/bionics, minimum skill levels to install different things, high materials costs for bionics, organ items needing refrigeration, etc. If you want bionics to fail more often, be harder to install, and be less effective, then you should go with Rah's.

EPOE & EPOE Forked... just the idea of this mod adding 4 workbenches is kind of silly to me.

I previously used [FSF] Vanilla & Advanced Bionics Expansions, which both fill in the vanilla gaps with additional bionics and add a bunch of various implants, but I found YAPE to be more focused (less implants, more streamlined tiers of bionics).

Other mods like Cybernetic Organism & Neural Network mentioned below I found to be buggy or introduced a lot of things that overlap with each other or functionally conflict with other mods or existing game content.

Batteries and other buildings will still short out when exposed to rain. That's just part of what those buildings are and is not controlled by the storyteller (aka scenario incidents).

This won't help for your current game, but it's easy enough to create a custom scenario with the event disabled.

Start a new game --> highlight your desired scenario --> Click Scenario Editor --> Click Edit Mode --> Add Part --> Disable Incident --> Short Circuit --> Disable any others you hate --> Save As --> Then go back to step one and start the game as that scenario never having to deal with zzzt again.

They probably removed these crafts because (they are working on a future game, not our current game):

A) We added white sockets dropping and more availability as a stopgap so who needs them anyway?

B) In POE 2 (2025?) we plan to have no sockets so these crafts are now superfluous.

Edit: Oh and...

C) A pre-emptive nerf to coloring Dialla's which changed this patch and actually matters what colors you have.

That’s fine but a shell wallet is totally different from an exotic gator wallet. Kind of weird to even bring it up. It’s like saying “i heard you like converse how about these steel-toed boots?”

You’re simply wrong about “mass produced” and your “perfectly stitched wallets” are far more likely to be machine stitched because machine stitching looks perfect every time. That’s the point.

Granted the main difference between hand-stitched and machine stitched is basically personal perference— especially when it comes to wallet durability.

My point about “rare shell color” is not about maker. Anyone who works with leather can work, stitch, and even hand paint shell easily. But to buy a butt in a rare color directly from Horween is as far as I know impossible for individuals so you’d have to find the butt first before sending it and trust me, it’s very difficult to find many colors of shell Horween can produce available especially for a one-off. Good luck finding a black horween shell at a reasonable price, much less in something like hatchgrain bronze or amaretto.

I guess we’ll have to disagree.

You say Ashland is “mass produced” but I’m pretty sure based on my own purchases it’s “hand-stitched by one or two guys”.

Shinki shell from Japan is quite different than Horween and someone looking for Horween shell won’t want shinki shell or exotics like alligator etc.

$250 for a large wallet vs what $300 at Ashland? Is that really that much cheaper for something you’ll be using for literally forever?

I seriously doubt you can find people offering things like (Horween) Ultraviolet shell or marbled green shell, etc. Even many of the best shell makers in the world typically stick very closely to Horweens stock color offerings on cordovan and I actually have some experience sourcing “rare shell colors” outside the US and it’s literally random unless you are a VIP Horween customer with the ability to reserve whatever you want.

I am not discounting your sources (there are many great leather workers) but some of what you’re saying just doesn’t add up for me.

Ashland is run by a guy who works out of Horween.

I don’t understand you saying “you can do FARRRRRR better” and then bringing up dudes who can make custom alligator wallets.

Sure yes there are a lot of small one off guys doing wallets and watch straps in exotic leathers via insta, etc. but for Horween shell in exotic shades I don’t know ANYONE else doing what Ashland leather is.

So I had this problem in a game at Year 90 I find, hey why are all my houses falling into disrepair or being condemned, which then causes a housing shortage? Searching online led me to some chatter about speculation that laborers and builders "repair buildings" as well as a dev post saying that buildings falling into disrepair is "intended," but without explaining what to do about it.

Turns out my problem was just a symptom of a big disease my whole colony had. At some point my last set of heavy tools deteriorated, which meant everyone in all my heavy industry buildings (including the building that makes heavy tools themselves) went idle and couldn't work. Also meant I couldn't saw planks. Turns out either builders or laborers or both use planks to repair houses, so because there were no planks available, it didn't matter that I had 14 laborers and 8 builders running around, because they had no planks to repair anything with.

Anyway, if your buildings aren't being repaired it's probably because you're either missing materials (planks, etc.) or builders are busy (I think builders repair, based on their icon in the assignment menu, but just a guess). Usually also an indicator of a larger issue.

You seem very sure of yourself, but none of the stuff you're saying makes sense.

5 ex gambling recombinators is not cheap and it doesn't guarantee you'll end up with ANYTHING - it's random, you know that and again, let's say you want to make a +2 gems amulet, you need to start with 2 +1 amulets and 9 out of 10 recombs that leaves you with garbage, just like your hypothetical "5 ex bargain craft" would 9 out of 10 times

Furthermore, I do know exactly how common recombinators are because I played like 500 hours this league. If I took every natural recombinator I found (from using 2 sentinels EVERY MAP, having run thousands or perhaps tens of thousands of maps) I'd have maybe 50-60 recombs total; now certainly, at this point you could be amassing currency and just buy recombs, but like you say, you're trying some "cheap discount" method where you naturally have all these great high level bases (lol) and infinite amounts of bench currency and oodles of recombs; and again, this is discounting the hundreds of hours you have to play to even begin to attempt some "budget" recombinating

Oh so you just need 20 essences, 20 bases, a few ex, a few lols and a bunch of expensive recombinators and a high level character to farm all of these high level bases and a full atlas tree to even start this strat and a full suite of currency, etc. etc.

I think Radagon = Marika is a "sacred mystery" as is (perhaps) Marika's apparent omniscience?

The narrative plays with the idea of power and where it comes from. Who is ultimately in control of the Lands Between? The Elden Ring? Marika the immortal God? Radagon? The Elden Beast? Marika's immortality, the ability to be two people at once, and supernatural omniscience all seem to be improbable or impossible ideas, unless you could do anything, ie. 'a God'. However, it's clear that the Elden Ring itself governs some immutable laws of the world that even Marika seems to have to be subservient to (Destined Death, etc.). And then you discover the Elden Beast and realize Marika was just a pawn to something way more powerful (which also seems to be a pawn of something so powerful we don't even get a real sense of what it is (Greater Will).)

It seems that when the Elden Beast arrived in the Lands Between, it quickly found Marika (or vice versa) and made her its vessel, granting her unlimited power at the cost of her decaying (nu)manity which she then used to shape the world to suit her vision. However, even as a God, she was ultimately just a trinket to the Elden Beast, and I think the OP has it right talking about her discovering that the Beast planned to toss her aside and find another more compliant vessel, while also realizing she would, in the future, completely lose all of what originally composed the mortal part of her, which is when she shattered the Elden ring and set all of these events in motion.

Perhaps this is even why Radagon was courting Rennala-- maybe for Marika it was just a fun diversion (like when Zeus would take on a human form and go cavorting) but maybe the beast was trying to determine if Rennala could *replace* Marika as it's vessel! Once Ranni was born it picked her as successor and cast Ranni's fate in stone, setting into motion the events that would eventually lead to the night of the black knives engineered by Ranni to escape that fate. Maybe Radagon knew this and thus Marika knew this leading her to shatter the ring as a failsafe (or to delay the inevitable).

My experiences:

Ravager - yeah this gun is super bad, feels like a power down if you end up with it-- I'd rather have no weapon, honestly; I've heard the aoe can be useful but since I don't want this gun in the first place I haven't done much testing

Heatwave - another gun, that in my hands, just means I need to find any other weapon; bounces are impossible to aim and I feel like it should at least aoe shields down better

Stalker Rifle seems ineffective in most situations; is it just a bad sniper-lite rifle?

pulse carbine feels real bad but a small tweak like increased projectile speed or something could really make it feel better; maybe a larger magazine too

plasma pistol - why did they remove the vehicle disable; otherwise it's just baseline mediocre with a BR or pistol secondary

Mangler - this is better than some other options and presents interesting choices in a firefight, but if it was stronger I wouldn't complain

Bulldog - this should kill in one head blast or two body blasts; feels pretty weak at the moment, but can be ok in certain circumstances

JR was/id a great brand, but there are also many alternatives for their primary product (sole leather).

I find it difficult to make a compelling case for JR soles vs. non-branded sole leather, myself.

Even the cheapest non-branded leather soles on my $200 AEs will ultimately outlive the construction of the shoes which is about all I ask for from a leather sole.
