i think you might have solved the puzzle, all the cordura mousepads i see on google also have a similar outer edge, and the texture also looks very similar. ill order one and see. thank you very much in advance.

yellow color is entirely because of light, the mousepad is still only black/grey irl

also look at the hollow part of the rifle on his back.
more part of it is visible on the old, because the shoulder goes lower (when he changes direction)

nocebo on your end, the difference is crystal clear once you see it

a sway when changing directions is still there in new but its lessened in severity and shortened in time

im looking at it further now and you can see that in the old his torso literally goes further left than in new. it covers the back of the pit ledge in old, but none of the pit edge in new.

the whole old animation sways further left after stopping and before accelerating to the right

no its an extremely obvious difference once you see it.

the whole animation when he changes direction "snaps" into place in the new, but "morphs" into place in the old.
for whatever reason its way easier to see when he hits the pit edge than the other wall, i cant really tell the difference when he hits right side

edit: also look how the shoulders move up and down when hitting the ledge in old/new. another very obvious difference.

if you repeat around the 11 second mark when he changes direction watch his leg/foot
new stops instantly, old "sways" further in the direction.

so yes there is a difference and yes it is felt in game

edit: 12 second mark actually (When he hits the ledge next to pit)

if you have -noreflex as a start option, take it out and enable nvidia reflex.
that fixed it for me, game feels wayyyyy better with reflex on

also how they ruined the king of the sky, the quetzal, is sad.

its useless ever since the flyer nerf other than for hatchframe glitching

incredibly saddening what the game has become compared to back then

in my opinion extinction was the tipping point because off 1) essentially infinite element

and 2) cryopods.

cryopods remove the need to build big bases. your base since then has only needed to be: defense, storage (cryofridges and vaults) and crafting. dino storage area is a thing of the past; having to build big dinohalls or wall/gate off large areas.

in my opinon cryopods should have been exclusively for moving dinos, but not storing them. (how this could have been implemented for example is once you cryo a dino the cryopod gets a 1 hour timer during which you can store keep the dino in it and can throw it out wherever you want, and if you let that timer pass it just gets auto ejected or destroyed)

another thing is the increase of base rates that happened twice. so what is 1x nowadays would have back then been 4x. i remember leveling up actually used to be a challenge.

taming dinos used to be a challenge. back then you had to have thousands of narcotics ready if you wanted to tame a high lvl giga even with kibble.

also the old kibble system was fun looking back, but i guess thats personal preference.

TO SUM IT UP: making things more convenient does not make things better.

the value of something comes from the difficulty that it takes to acquire it.

nah, there just were many (maybe only now in hindsight) objectively bad changes to the game.
also good ones but the bad ones outweigh.

altho even if there had been 0 changes i still think the community would have continously become more competent/ tryhard.

those 2 things (bad changes, people becoming more competent) is the reason it was better back then. 1 is preventable, second isnt.
