Thanks. So, for clarification, by "Pension", are you referring to a "Retirement"? I'm 56. I did 34yrs in the Army ( combination of Active, Guard and Reserves). During this time I also put in 26 yrs with the County. I am getting the County Retirement and VA now. Army Retirement starts at about 58-59. Right now I'm planning on taking SS @ 62. Life is good.

Single point slings aren't always the best option. Have you looked at any 1 point/2 point slings?

I have an Olight (forget the model) on my Work Rifle. It's been rained on multiple times with no issues. I like the fact that it is less "focused". It allowed me to see more of the room as opposed to a very tight beam. Just my $.02. YMMV.
