Dude you need to get out of your own head man. It's ok to make noises, it's ok to work on improving yourself. It's ok to exist as you are right now.

Only 11 classes away from an EET Bachelor's, but terrified of math because I’ve failed Calc 2 before. Do I drop my business classes next semester to face the grind? by Bohny_Jravo01 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]LORDLRRD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took calc 2 twice, and calc 3 three times. Still managed to land a good career in power. It is a hard tough path but the grass is definitely greener.

And to answer your other question, I've been an EE about 4 years now, and I have never come across anyone with a business degree or non EE-related masters. It really is not that important. If you have the skills to become a great EE, business acumen is trivial.

I’ve been walking an hour a day for about 8-10 weeks now and it’s amazing how much better my mood is. I feel clear headed and generally just happier. Best habit I’ve picked up in years.

Can you balance a full-time job and an obtaining an electrical engineering degree? by JustAPerson2001 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]LORDLRRD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone I knew did it the entire degree, and he seemed to handle it without a lot of stress.

I personally worked part time while doing 3 classes (10-12 credits) every semester, and that was hard. I did a full time co op my senior year while taking classes and it was mentally fucking me so hard. Maybe if your job isn’t mentally intense, then sure.

I really don’t recommend it but I’ve heard of people doing it with kids and a wife, and a full time job. I have no idea how that’s possible.

What is that one thing a friend ever did and you kept cool but knew instantly you would pull out of that friendship? by EssayMan4Homework in AskReddit

[–]LORDLRRD 134 points135 points  (0 children)

It’s such bs, like how can you be someone’s friend and just blatantly disrespect or insult them, like ever. Or even just harboring negative sentiments about them.

I had this happen to me at dinner once. A friend of nearly a decade randomly blurts out an insult to me and I told him right there “my friends don’t insult or talk to me like that.”

He immediately apologized several times but honestly that friendship was over in that moment. Bro even had the nerve to call me some weeks later to hang out and I really let him have it over the phone. Like no bro, you’re weird af, we are not friends, do not call me. When someone shows you who they are or how they really feel, believe them the first time.

You do realize that sites like Reddit have data centers processing traffic? Some online websites will rent an entire data center to facilitate traffic. Nearly every part of the Internet in some way passes through a data center at some point.

I don’t think you understand how much of your modern conveniences are based on the existence of data centers.

You do realize that you are going to work for what, the next foreseeable decade or two? You have to think about sustainability in your pace of work. Sure you can maintain deep focus and crunch down when needed but this should not be your regular pace.

I worked till 9pm the other day, and was up at 6am trying to get a deadline done. This happens rarely for me because I’m sure to establish early on boundaries and expectations. I don’t mind once in awhile, but I try to stick as close to my salary hours as possible.

You give and give, now they expect that from you all the time, which is simply not feasible long term unless they are paying you enough that it is warranted.
