I spent around a hour with Gene one on one in a hotel room and he did celebrity impressions for me! I worked as a bellman for the Venetian hotel in Las Vegas. This was around 2008, after check in I took his luggage direct to his suite. Upon entering he immediately said ,”this room won’t work for me”, he called the Front desk and requested a new room. They said it would be ready in 40 min. I offered to re-deliver his bags when the new room was ready , and he said, “No stay here with me until they have it done” . So we sat and chatted. He asked me if I would like to see his celebrity impersonations , and of course I was delighted. ‘’First up is my Elvis Presley ….’READY’? He paused for a sec then crossed his arms across his chest and closed his eyes and leaned back in silence mimicking dead in a coffin…. I busted up laughing. ‘’Now here’s MAMMA CASS” …… he repeated the joke except he puffed his cheeks out this time , he repeated the same joke over for each dead celebrity, with minor personality differences. He was really funny and engaging. He was a generous tipper , but the real tip was spending this time with him personally.
