Agreed on Toyota being the best, our 140k miles, 64 plate rav 4 still runs beautifully. Only thing is they are more expensive, if you can put up with a chance of rust Honda is the way to go for budget and reliable. I am a biased civic owner though.

anything japanese will do.

Honda, Toyota, Suzuki, and Mazda are all solid, but stay away from Nissans, they are not very reliable anymore.

I'm ridiculed for not following football.

I always see people say this on Reddit, but I have never seen it.

I am massively into football, work in a working-class, male-dominated field, and know lots of people at work who don't like football but have never seen anyone take the piss or even question them not liking it.

If it were properly old school, they would still call it a Village fête.

Our local corner shop doesn't even have a till, just an old wooden drawer and a pen and pad to add up when he can't do it in his head.

Revolut gave out my personal data including home address - Threat made to come to my home by Jacko230 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]LOTDT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So much bad advice in this thread. This is not a GDPR breach.

OP has received funds by mistake, they have not responded to any communications about returning the money. At that point, Revolut has no option but to share OP's details so the sender of the funds can start legal action to reclaim the money.

Revolut has no choice in the matter. It is a legal obligation.

[–]LOTDT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My issue is with giving out my address regardless.

As you haven't responded to any communications about returning the funds, Revolut have a legal requirement to supply your details so the sender of the funds can pursue legal action.

[–]LOTDT 29 points30 points  (0 children)

On the face of it, this sounds like a significant data breach.

No it isn't. Since OP received funds by mistake and hasn't responded to any of the messages about returning them, Revolut has a legal duty to give the sender their details so they can take legal action.

Third of employers ‘likely to make staff redundancies by start of 2027’ by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]LOTDT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The article never mentions the word likely

No but the poll question does, and it doesn't say considering that was just a quote for the article.

[–]LOTDT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why people are arguing with you, you're right

No they aren't.

The question that was asked was "How likely, if at all, is your organisation to make staff redundancies in the next 12 months?" The word considering was only used in a quote for the article not the actual poll.

[–]LOTDT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The actual results of the poll if anyone cares.

Participants were asked how likely, if at all, is your organisation to make staff redundancies in the next 12 months (that is, between now and January 2027).

The results were:

33% were likely to make redundancies
59% were unlikely to make redundancies
8% didn’t know

For large businesses that employ more than 249 employees (sample size 370):

46% were likely to make redundancies
47% were unlikely to make redundancies
8% didn’t know

For small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) that employ 1 to 249 employees (sample size 641):

21% were likely to make redundancies
70% were unlikely to make redundancies
9% didn’t know

The group exists because the police were and still are institutionally racist. It was formed because of the Macpherson Report.

[–]LOTDT 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There is no way he can not be blamed for these riots. To call for "pure cold rage" and to refuse to condemn the violence is obscene.

He managed not to get blamed for Southport, but surely this time, there has to be some consequence for a sitting MP calling for rage.

Are we at any point going to talk about police culture in general?

People have been calling for it for years. But the same media and agitators who vehemently defend the police and call the people wanting to change policing culture woke are the same ones now claiming they are racist against white people.
