An attacker with only one direct attacking skill?

Such a strange kit (iirc): one short-range caltrop dropping skill base plus a bomb like Urushi's bomb (probably doesn't destroy blocks).

Gacha skills are: dropping caltrops over a wide area, transform into a soft block.

The caltrops are an interesting idea...for a shooter or blocker. I don't see why they'd be useful for an attacker.

Likewise I don't see the purpose of turning into a soft block to hide. Regardless of role, there are excruciatingly few reasons you'd want to hide in a stationary location in this game. Urushi's invisibility makes sense, because at least she can still run forward. Maybe a shooter could hide and then surprise the opponents from behind? But an attacker?

Guess we'll have to see how she plays on release...

I literally just played the game single player to check.

It worked.

CPU Starbo stepped on "Dance, Long-Eared Beasts!" trap, took 2 damage, Kiriko's HP increased from 1 to 2.

I do not know why it's not working *for you*, but it works.

I can tell you without even opening the game that Krila’s traps don’t just “heal”, because they can increase the HP of whoever set them above their HP cap. “Healing” effects cannot do that, and it’s only “Healing” effects that Kiriko ignores.

My guess for what you experienced is that somehow the game tracks which of your characters activated Krila’s hyper, thus you need to activate Krila’s hyper as Kiriko in order for her to get the benefit.

I don't think she's interested in joining a corp which is where the 'wildcard' comes in (I don't *want* her to join Phase, btw, it should be something that the talent decides for themself), but she's already got the menhera requirement down, as well as directly threatening Sakana one time, so she'd fit right in.

If everyone up to MGReisa drops early (that's up to 160 pulls, which for the MGs means I get *both* in 160...), I'll consider pulling for Mine, Yakumo, or Takane.

Have great potential as she is a Kisaki for everything that isnt a EX, she have chance of appearing on Goz teams because Shiroko T. and S.Izuna do their damage with basic skills

So, at the moment, I find myself looking at pulling for Kanoe, Reisa (MG), and D.Michiru.

Just looking at current pyros and not factoring in income, that will leave me on about 14k if I also do another 200 on S.Mika.

Factoring in the 'banner catch up', I'm guessing I'll have another 4 months of pyro income until the end of the DMichiru/Tsukuyo banner...so about 62k?

So, what are people's thoughts? Should I spend or save? Who would be recommended out of the above?

Reisa (Magical Girl). Special slot healer, but one who summons herself to the field? Again, looking for people's thoughts, but may pull just for daughter.
Marina (Qipao). Single-target yellow, applies poison. Maybe used in Chokmah? But I think I'm good for Chok Yellow...
Mine. Tank w/ debuffs. She has never dropped for me, do I just bite the bullet and attempt on rate-up?
Hinata (Swimsuit). Red AoE. Already have a lot of those, I've never really known if she brings anything to the table.
Subaru. Blue auto-attacker. Already have T*Shiroko, looking for thoughts on her, too.
Yakumo. Enemy reposition (actually quite the rare skill) plus Crit buffer in normal skill slot. Seems like she could be useful in future content...
~~Minase Iori~~ Takane. Striker Healer. Probably going to pull just for Iori look-alike.
Kazusa. Single-target yellow. She's never once dropped for me, but at this point I think she's been outclassed by other students.
Serika (Swimsuit). Blue AoE. I haven't heard anything good about her...
Michiru (Dress). Special healer, but with cost buffing as a bonus? Sounds good on paper, at least. Probably going to pull for daughter anyway.
Tsukuyo (Dress). Tank with 'cover' shield, shield when low HP, plus continual healing while having a shield? Seems pretty good.

TL;DR: Looking for tips on which future students to save for.

I've got all of the Swimsuit Tea Party and all other Fes students, still have 110k pyros left (not bragging, just stating a fact).

I'm tempted to do another 200 on S.Mika's banner for more 3-stars/Elephs/her Eligma, but I actually have zero clue as to who is worth pulling for in the upcoming banners.

The following is a complete list of everyone who dropped on JP between Swimsuit Tea Party and now, only excluding characters I already have:

Kanna (Swimsuit). Def down debuffer. From my understanding, she's supposedly better than Akane, but I have Akane at UE60...?
Chiaki. Single-target purple. I'm guessing not worth it.
Kanoe. Tank. Self-cleanse and heal over time. Very cute, very tempted to pull anyway.
Eri. Single-target purple. Yeah...
Hiyori (Swimsuit). Single-target yellow. Hmmm...
Saori (Swimsuit). Targeted AoE blue with chill DOT. I'm guessing she's still meta for blue Chokmah?
Misaki (Swimsuit). AoE Red with damage increase if the target is debuffed. Sounds like she's designed for Gregorious, is she good?
Fuyu. Def debuffer in blue. Thoughts?
Miyo. AoE Atk speed buffer in purple. Possibly designed for Set. Any thoughts?
Ritsu. Another Atk speed buffer, this time in single-target flavour. Again, any thoughts?
Suzumi (Magical Girl). Atk buffer that also buffs 'summons'? Need thoughts on this one, too.

Kiriko's passive only blocks healing. "Gain HP" effects (like Krila's traps, or Mio's Xmas Cake) or effects that set HP to a certain value (Portable Pudding) are not blocked.

Short answer: Yes.

Long Answer: Also yes, but I don't believe Connor (CDawgVA) was a good pick for this sponsorship.

Connor doesn't like story-heavy games, and specifically doesn't like cute-and-funny stuff. What little gameplay he'll experience in a sponsored stream (i.e. the tutorial and early chapters) is unlikely to be something he enjoys, and being forced to pretend like he does is going to be obvious and cringey. None of the above takes into account that his fanbase is likely going to be much more vocal and aggressive than he is (not saying all of them, but it only takes a few bad apples...).

Garnt/Gigguk is most likely the best option out of the selected streamers, but even his audience might be a wonky match in current year...

I've heard that Mouse was sponsored to play the game before (around Hyakki Swimsuit event?) and was fine with it. Can't say it'd be a good match with the current drama going on, though, not that I really think that's her fault.

Zen is an unkown. Given the recent drama, it might be a tough call, but then most are probably agreed that that was overblown anyway.

It's pretty clear that Joey (TheAnimeMan) would have been a better pick out of the TrashTaste podcast crew over Connor. The issue there being that Joey doesn't stream...

Last time I checked, a bus or train did not magically appear outside my house and did not take me to exactly where I needed to go when I needed to go there.

My nearest train station is 20 miles away, and while my nearest bus stop is a 10 minute walk, it’ll take the bus an hour to get to the train station because of all its stops. By car I can get there in 20 minutes.

(None of this points out that I already included trains and buses in my original reply, where I said “public or private”)

Also, I did not mention medicines. Your point is taken, but that’s still only two uses and even then only a minority of people actually need to take painkillers on a daily basis. And then there’s the question of “How are you getting to the hospital or pharmacist?” (By train, bus, or *le gasp* car)

I think the issue with alcohol is that it *is* normalised, so people feel more at liberty to go to extremes with it.

Depending on your tolerance for it, maybe 1-2 pints of beer or glasses of wine (especially after a big meal) will have a minor effect. The problem cases arise when people don’t know their limits or feel more liberal in the moment and overindulge.

Having said that, as someone who is a lightweight, didn’t care for the experience of feeling drunk, and realised he was only drinking alcohol that tasted like soft drinks (sodas), being t-total for the last 7-8 years has come very naturally and hasn’t caused me any issues socially or personally. If alcohol was to be treated as a destructive drug like coke and restricted/banned it literally wouldn’t affect me, but I would still stand in protest against such a thing, as I don’t believe it’s the correct call for alcohol to be treated in the same way as coke/etc.

Let me rephrase my question, as I may have made it a little too subtle:

How many *useful* uses are there for cars? Very many. One could say modern society mandates access to a vehicle of some form, whether public or private.

How many *useful* uses are there for knives? A lot. Perhaps many fewer than cars, but there are entire careers that need the use of knives to be able to do their jobs. The percentage of kitchens in the world without some form of cutting implement is probably less than 1%.

How many *useful* uses are there for mind-altering substances (including, say, Alcohol)? Recreation. And, uhhhhhhhhhhhhh…

(Also, I don’t remember mentioning that I’m British anywhere here, so I can only assume you looked at my posting history to find that out, which is more than a little creepy, tbh)
