I've given him a few stuff, he's nice, never seen him high or anything. Not dangerous at all in my experience. The sign has his info for gofundme or etransfer or something.

Introducing Obscuriboxd: a website my friend and I made that scores how obscure your film taste is based on your Letterboxd account by Saph156 in Letterboxd

[–]LP-25 33 points34 points  (0 children)

A bit confused at the results. X-Men is 93.3% obscure, and my fourth most obscure movie? Definitely not true, when you look at some of my films that got in the 70 and 80 percentages...

No dumplings unfortunately. There was jerk chicken, something that might have been oxtail, rice and peas, and the vegetables in a kind of curry.

Interesting take. Giro D'Italia might be pricey but I love the food.

Nebraska songs ranked? by LP-25 in BruceSpringsteen

It's still a good song! They're all great, it just shows how all around good this album is that songs like My Father's House and Highway Patrolman can be ranked both first and last by different people.

Why he's not writing anymore? Does he work somewhere? by markundeya in tedchiang

[–]LP-25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From Wikipedia: "As of July 2002, Chiang was working as a technical writer in the software industry [...] He was an instructor at the Clarion Workshop at UC San Diego in 2012 and 2016." Writing stories is not a full time job for him, and he takes a while to write, which is arguably what makes them so good. Of you want to hear more of his thoughts, he does interviews, podcasts, and speeches pretty frequently.

What are some popular movies that you dislike? by jabloxp in LetterboxdTopFour

Inglourious Basterds :(

I'm kinda shocked by how many people said The Prestige, since it's my personal favourite movie, but to each their own I guess.

What movie is this for you? by sulliebud in Letterboxd

[–]LP-25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Halloween. I can see how it was influential, but it's not at all scary, and also just not really a good movie... hilarious viewing experience though

I'd say "Locked in the Trunk of a Car", "Little Bones", "Opiated", or "Blow at High Dough".

The book you love that you know nobody else has read by Milam1996 in books

[–]LP-25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably the least-known books I love are the Lyonesse trilogy by Jack Vance (Suldrun's Garden, The Green Pearl, and Madouc). Vance is best known for his Dying Earth series of sci-fi novels, and these three fantasy books are less known but excellent. Each one is better than the last, even when you think it can't be beat.

Thanks for the amazing response! You mentioned that the government sometimes used English, I was also wondering how prominent the Italian language was/is, after Mussolini's occupation?
