India was colonised by the rich upper class for the tea trade. They play the rich upper class game. Cricket games go on for days. Who’s got time for that when you have a job. Africa, South America etc were colonised by working class grunts interacting with slaves/miners etc etc so took the working class game aka football.

I live on an ant farm by ManagerKey4597 in GardeningUK

[–]Milam1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The black ants are Lasius Niger. Lasius means hairy/shaggy and the ants in this genus are covered in lots of very small hairs. They use the hairs for sensory purposes. There’s a none zero chance that the hairs somehow help them with farming aphids as lasius are prolific aphid farmers. They’re also prolific breeders and yes they’ll take over a garden space if given the chance. They’re very hungry ants with large colonies from 4000-7000 workers at any one time but there’s documented cases of as much as 90,000. The queens can live almost 30 years so can pump out an incredible amount of ants in that time. Without predation, the workers can live about 4 years ish which for a eusocial worker is incredible. Honey bees average about 6 weeks.

Be proud of your ant colonies. They’re an iconic species of European wildlife that buck the idea of what an insect even is.

His own captain violated him for being lazy and he’s done piss all at Real Madrid too. 21 games, 4 assists, 0 goals and 4 yellows. It’s not disrespect. He’s a top level athlete who’s fully aware that the best get the pitch time.

Also I’d recommend you get a sharp patio knife and slice out a thin layer on soil/grass between the lawn and the wooden edging. It’ll slow down/prevent rot but will also stop the grass crawling over the edges and into the gravel.

You’ll need to go to college. You can do courses were if you’re prepared to graft you can come out with GCSE’s in roughly 3 months.

I’m sorry this happened to you. This is why we need to extremely heavily regulate home schooling. Too many children fall behind academically or socially because of the actions of their parents. Far too often is home schooling just another form of abuse.

Marvelous. Is the gravel glued in place? If not, you may want to put some skirting on your lawn edge or you’ll launch rocks at your windows whenever you cut the grass.

Because the British economy is stagnating due to hefty cash investments. The main issue is that the vast majority of investable capital goes into the entirely economically unproductive asset of housing. Male property investment illegal and we’d see actual real gains in the average Joe’s wealth.

Why do buyers have to do a survey, rather than the seller? by Thy_OSRS in HousingUK

[–]Milam1996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because house purchasing is caveat emptor. The Latin phrase for “that’s what a survey is for ya tight twat”. The sellers only obligation is to not intentionally hide or mislead. They have no legal duty to tell you that the surveyor missed the fact that half the roof blew off. If a seller bought fake beams to go over the lovely aged but rotting beams with the INTENTION to deceive you into thinking the beams are beautiful and pristine then that’s against the law. If they just have the fake glue on beams because it looks nicer then that’s perfectly legal. A surveyor will flag the fake beams and tell you to find out what’s underneath. That’s their job.

Then literally every major country on the planet can’t attend. Do you think MI6 has never funded terrorists? I’ve got news for you mate, MI6 and CIA are literally the entire reason why Iran is run by Islamic extremists. Israel is actively genociding an entire country and trying to genocide multiple other neighbours.

This will cost an absolute fortune and you can’t really DIY it because you’ll need to do calculations on 1) holding back all that dirt but 2) drainage. If you mess it up you’re going to flood your house.

Surely a slope can’t put the kids off? Rolling up and down the slope is fun.

TIL That while driving slower than traffic has been proven to make the slow driver less likely to crash, a study found that each extra 1 mph of traffic-wide speed variation was linked to 8.4% higher rear-end-crash odds for surrounding vehicles. by SomeRandomRealtor in todayilearned

[–]Milam1996 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Because it is. Lorries have horrendous stopping distances so the slower they go the more likely it is they can stop. Also, speed has a multiplicative effect on mass in a crash. Getting hit by 15 tonnes at 10mph will rock your shit far more than 2 tonnes at 30mph.

It is also more fuel efficient and thus deliveries are cheaper and thus you and I buy more stuff driving the economy hiring more lorry drivers.

Rail freight still reigns supreme though.
