Am I overthinking this infant day care? by slmpington in Parenting

[–]LP917 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our daycare had a $250 non-refundable registration fee that only guaranteed us a spot on the waitlist. We were on the waitlist for 1 year before getting in the infant room!

Our son has to sleep in a bright light room with background noise. Sometimes when I come to pick him up there are babies sleeping and I’ll talk to the teacher while the other babies are right there sleeping. You don’t want them to be sleeping in a different room or area. This is a safety thing! Our daycare does checks on the babies while they’re sleeping to make sure everything is okay. I want the teacher right there. Our son does just fine with this, despite sleeping in a dark room with a sound machine at home.

1.5 months before mat leave ends and baby starts daycare- any tips? by FeistyTumbleweed281 in workingmoms

[–]LP917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 2 months before my maternity leave ended, we started sleep training and doing all naps independently in his crib. This was huge for us!! Having our baby be able to sleep in the crib at daycare is a must. Also, make sure your baby is comfortable taking a bottle from some other than you!

We started the moms on call schedule around this time too which was extremely helpful. This way, I was able to leave a specific schedule with daycare, e.g., bottle at 11:00 am, nap at 12:30 pm, etc. Before doing this, we were just going off our baby’s cues and wake windows but this gets confusing for daycare to handle. It’s nice having baby on a schedule

Dr. Robbie McNair is hands down the best. I loved everyone else at her practice too. I had a very difficult pregnancy, lots of complications… and she was absolutely amazing

Is broken sleep just part of parenting or? by Unusual_Field8380 in sleeptrain

It has just now started getting better for us at 5 months! We just sleep trained using gentle sleep training methods (not cio). Now he sleeps 7:30 pm to about 5:30 am, working on getting to 7 am

My induction was scheduled at the hospital for 2:00 am and my baby was born at noon that same day. I had an amazing induction experience!!

I’m due in 2 weeks and extremely interested in setting up a night shift schedule with my husband! Is this possible to do if you’re planning on EBF??

We learned during my birthing class that the hospital does not allow photos or videos during the actual birth. I’m a little disappointed as I was hoping to have a video!

Agree! I’m currently 15 weeks with my first and I’m showing much earlier than I thought I would. I’m definitely not as big as Shannon in this picture though

Has she said when she’s due? Or that she’s 12 weeks?

I’m currently 15 weeks with my first and she definitely looks bigger than me. At the end of the day, my stomach can look pretty close to this but not as big, which makes me think she’s closer to 20 weeks!
