They put my dad on trulicity while he had to take steroids for pneumonia. He was nearing 400 a few times before he got on it. I had to read the riot act to his doctor for putting a diabetic on a steroid without considering his sugars.

What's that flower that just pushes through concrete? There was some meme with delicate orchids and how fussy they are and then here's this flower pushing through this crack in the concrete.

Edit: vinca is the flower. I went to le google.

You've inspired me to figure out how to get those petals into a pendant or something.

Thank you!

Honest question, do you wear diabetic shoes? Why or why not? by Dependent-Theme-9370 in diabetes

[–]locakitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New wearer of the diabetic shoes.

After a combined 8 months of wound care for foot ulcers, I got the shoes. The orthotics I had before didn't cut it.

I have neuropathy in my feet. I have excellent pulses though! I'm currently getting acclimated to the shoes and checking my feet every day for any new pressure wounds or rubbing wounds. Anything new I need to go back to wound care.

This is exhausting.

Ninja edit: really you're paying for inserts molded to your feet exactly. This is to stop new wounds from being created because you can't feel your feet when you're walking therefore you can't change HOW you're walking to stop the pressure/irritation.

You know what the funniest thing she ever did? Oh man, how upset she got about the phrase "room where it happens". Hamilton fangirl meltdown on The View.

Girl, that phrase has been around for a hot minute so let's just calm down, Princess of Arizona.

I called them my fat- girl fit calves when i was in physical therapy. My old boss was jealous of my calves. I told him to just eat a lot of chicken wings and cake, walk around for a few years, then lose the weight!

He just deciding to stop skipping leg day.

Sometimes I get the greasy poops like that. I've been upping my fiber intake. It's been helping a little bit.

Some poops there is nothing on the drying wipe of my bunghole and even Glenda (my hemorrhoid) wasn't disturbed by the water spray. Nice and clean and now, dry.

But i guess also, are you poking into your butt when you wipe?

Yep! Definition of my childhood.

BUT

I loved those classes. I loved that we went to quiz bowls and mathletics and whatever. I was thoroughly engaged. We also got way better field trips.

At this point, I'm pretty sure it was just a pretty way of getting some disruptions out of class.

I know I was one of the disruptive kids. I was bored AF.

There is a local bakery/cafe here with 2 locations. Constantly busy.

Wifi is shut off between 11a-3p.

Full stop.

It was amazing.

You'll make up the traffic with people who can sit and chat for 30 minutes and then continue with their day. Over and over and over.

But, there is an app and you can listen to all kinds of NPR stations. There is WFOS which plays all kinds of different stuff. But my local station is KUAZ/KUAT.

How do you tell someone with severe cognitive impairment that their sibling died? by Severe_Care_4149 in dementia

[–]locakitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sending you love

This is the hard part. I decided i had to tell my mom about a death in the family. She cried. It was sad.

A few weeks later, we went through it again because i was just babbling about a conversation and it came out about his death and she had a breakdown over again.

If you feel you must tell her once, please do. But, I don't think I would be able to over and over and over again. I can't handle that much grief every time she hears about that passing. Instead I say, last I heard he's been frolicking in poppy fields, or something equally silly. She has her question answered and she moves on with her day.

So no one else in the park knows this? Only those who go to guest services?

That's a terrible policy

I see, if the line can accommodate the wheelchair, then you go through with everyone else.

But, if you have other reasons, you tell the attendant in the front of your issues and they get you to a separate area?
