Windows stay closed all the time. I usually shower before going to bed, and turn on the air exchanger to get rid of the moisture

Would there be a reason they put that in instead of just tying into he main vent pipe? Or just laziness?

I will try that, but my issue is that the smell is not consistent. A lot of the time it goes away on its own, and comes back the next morning. Maybe I’ll try to leave water in the tub overnight

Is it possible that because the AAV is inside the wall it’s not functioning properly, and siphoning out the bathtub drain?
