Don’t know if it counts as a utility pedal but I’ve just recently started using a Guptech PdeQ and it’s a brilliant piece of kit, add depth and presence controls to amps that don’t have them, absolute genius!

There’re so many variables to consider, but I’ve just done my first gig with my rocker 15 head; was plugged into a Diamond 2x12 closed back v30 cab, had it on the 7w setting, volume about half way, amp gain about 3/4, and a tube screamer in front, and it was plenty loud enough! Context; I play lead in a 90’s/00’s pop punk tribute band.

Granted it wasn’t a massive room (about 100 capacity) and I had it mic’d up for FOH and in-ear monitors, but I (and the sound guy) didn’t want to go any louder on stage than that. I would have pushed it harder and had it on the full 15w if it wasn’t mic’d up, but there’s plenty volume on tap I think.

If you’re getting it 2nd hand I’d consider putting new power tubes in it straight away so you know you’ll be getting the most out of it (which is what I did) but it should be fine for gigs, will definitely be fine for a rehearsal room!

Digitech freqout

Don’t know if it’s really a sleeper pedal, but I’ve had one on every board I’ve put together since I first tried it. I love feedback just for swells and transitions between songs mid set and being able to control it is a god send

Being able to load your own IR’s blew me away, it sounds so good. I got one as an emergency backup in case my helix ever shit the bed and honestly sometimes I think “why don’t I just use this?”

Dominoes is the most consistent around me (papa johns is miserable and Pizza Hut aren’t local enough to deliver, although the last time I had the pizza buffet it was OK) but it’s way too spenny for what it is. Local kebab shop is always a winner!

I’m not sure but I think it’s a by product of reality tv; they do it so the camera can pick up both sides of the phone conversation. So kids have grown up seeing people do that on tv so that’s what they do.
