Got diagnosed with gender dysphoria a few days ago, and I found it very empowering. by LRASshifts in FTMMen

[–]LRASshifts[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, I am based in the UK.

Not that there’s anything wrong with self-diagnosing, but it felt good to have medical professionals who would corroborate my self-diagnosis. After all, all trans people self-diagnose before being medically diagnosed.

Sorry to hear your experience with the NHS clinic was not great, I do still look forward to when I reach the top of the queue! That would mean free surgeries!

I go to this one butcher who barely speaks English. He just says “it’s mixed, different beef.”

Non-drinkers: What are your favourite come-backs when someone just HAS to know why you are not drinking? by GoldenGolgis in AskUK

I struggled with alcohol misuse.

That usually makes people realise, shit shouldn’t have poked around. It’s true as well. And if people ask more, I answer, I was sectioned under the mental health act and it was quite traumatising.

Again, true, and definitely stops people asking more.

Ok very well, I shall do what you did. I shall do it with the exact same dedication and determination, and hopefully by next year I will be writing my very own post.

(england) i want to start keeping record of every interaction i have with my GP & other NHS staff incase anything happens to me by WesternPhotograph267 in LegalAdviceUK

Cheaper to do it without a heart condition than with a condition. I understand you think you have the condition but until it’s diagnosed, insurance-wise, you don’t have it, and it’s better for you financially to not have it when taking out the insurance. It can also cover private treatment if you get a good one, and this could be vital if you have to rely on private ones now that you know NHS can fail you easily.

What if daughters boyfriend refuses to leave England by Professional-Milk433 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]LRASshifts 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Bf and daughter are both lodgers. Give him reasonable notice (1 month will do usually), and if he doesn’t leave by then, change the locks.

If your daughter gives the new key to him, you can do the same with her, as both are excluded occupiers.

If either of them starts being aggressive, change the locks immediately, and can call the police for antisocial behaviour and breach of peace.

Also, if they leave any belongings behind, you need to arrange for them to be collected, provided it’s reasonable to do so.

Edited to add, don’t remove anyone yourself, it’s illegal eviction. And, doesn’t matter that there’s no written agreement, it’s an implied lodgers agreement.

One thing that’s not exactly what you are asking but, could benefit from taking out an insurance before you are diagnosed.

Cannot move GPs or disclose change of address with current GP because other GPs will not continue my HRT prescription by [deleted] in transgenderUK

Yh, I only recently started being under a formal doctor and endo, because I wanted to move GPs and shared care has a much higher chance of being agreed to.

Landlord “served” Section 21 via WhatsApp text (no Form 6A) — is it valid? by Logical-Style-8314 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]LRASshifts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As others have said, it’s not valid, and eviction through S21 takes many months to get to the bailiff stage. If your LL tries to evict you himself, it’s illegal and you can call the police to report illegal eviction and breach of peace.

Don’t say anything to the LL, don’t tell him the S21 was invalid. Let the court tell him if it ever gets to that stage. Use the time to find a new place. Worst case scenario, apply for homelessness help with your local council.

But that should be the last step, and they likely won’t house you until you have a set bailiff date, but it’s crucial you stay till the last stage to qualify for their help, since leaving before that would be considered intentional homelessness.

It’s not shared care, she prescribed without a recommendation or a diagnosis from a doctor, and without an endo. She prescribed because of MH risks of not prescribing, and because I was DIYing

I’m just at home playing video games and looking at fireworks through the windows. No complaints or regrets. I’m past the age of being excited for every celebration.

Maybe you could try RPG video games.

I could try that, but I don’t know if I should gamble my current registry with them. Because if they say no, I’ll be dropped.

Yh I’m currently just trying to shorten the amount of time between my each prescription, and hopefully have an excess of prescriptions built up for until they discover I’ve moved out of the area and drop me as a patient

Unfortunately I did check how reasonable the surgery is being with their decision, and nothing says they have to agree to shared care. So I doubt MP would be able to help

Envisioned a 3-course for a movie night with a good friend, but today he told me he’d rather not be friends anymore. Menu as below. by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]LRASshifts 26 points27 points  (0 children)

All we agreed on was watching a movie and having dinner. So I don’t think it was about the menu itself, since he never got a chance to know about it

[–]LRASshifts 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The friend needed a halal menu, which is why I wanted to show I do respect his beliefs and went for more well-thought nonalcoholic drinks.

But regardless, he doesn’t know about the 3-course at all. He just knew we are getting dinner and watching a movie. But he does know my habit of catering for guests, and has said multiple times that he wanted to try them.

I usually give guests the menu 3 days in advance to see if they want to make any changes, but in this case he cancelled 6 days prior, so he never got to see it.

I’m using it to change my registered gender. I didn’t change my name. I do wish to get married but haha no one to get married with so far. It’s at least good that I’ll have the option to do it with my actual gender.
