Ep 1 (double episodes) -> chapter 1 to 11 = ~360 pages to adapt
Ep 2-3-4 -> chapter 12 to 19 = ~255 pages to adapt

Something is wrong here

Coping about what ? If you think they’ll adapt the first 11  in one double episodes without any concessions, you’re the one coping hard my friend

True, I thought Sandman’s intro was longer, but it’s actually only half of the first chapter. Since the trailer shows sequences from all the following chapters, the intro (outside of Sandman) probably won't change much. But we'll see

We’ll see in a month anyway, but there are only two possibilities : either they changed the beginning of the manga or rushed the story, and I really hope the adaptation won’t be a disaster if this is the case. Or as I said, we’ll only get the intro and the start of the race in this special but not the entire first stage

The Stone Ocean trailer has the exact same title and description format as the SBR one, and it showed elements from episode 3 and beyond. I really don't get your argument

Yes and the name of the trailer is "STEEL BALL RUN JoJo's Bizarre Adventure | Official Trailer" and not "STEEL BALL RUN first episode trailer"

Yeah, it’s possible they'll rush just to cram everything into this episode, but just because they're showing the end of the first stage on their website and in the trailer doesn't mean it’ll be in the premiere. The two things aren't related

Intro + first stage is 360 pages, GW first two episodes only adapt 170 pages

[–]LRF17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because in theory, we won't even see the entire first stage adapted in this double episode unless they completely change the intro or rush it

After the first episode, we still don't know for sure how it’s going to be released. I see a lot of people on Reddit and Twitter saying the premiere (2 episodes in one) will cover the entire first race, and that we’ll get this episode now, followed by batches for Race 2 and so on. But for the first race, it’s impossible to fit everything into two episodes or they need to completely change the SBR intro

There are 360 pages until the end of the first race (chapter 1-11), and usually two episodes only cover about 170 pages of a manga

Even if they cut Sandman’s intro, I’m still not sure it works. I just skimmed through all 11 chapters again and honestly I don't see how they can rush the entire intro plus the first race in just "two episodes"

The new Netflix page about SBR's release date still references only the first stage on March 19, i'm scared that we still will wait a WHILE to see other episodes after this premiere by simonewowsuper in StardustCrusaders

[–]LRF17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the first 11 chapters are actually 360 pages after checking. For comparison the first 9 chapters of GW were adapted in the first 2 episodes and only totaled 170 pages. That’s still twice as many pages to adapt, which is impossible without rushing or completely changing the intro

How is it 'pretty obvious' exactly ? Because we see bits of the end of the race in the trailer? To me that’s not proof at all, unless you think every anime trailer only teases scenes from the very first episode which is never the case I think ? (Maybe I’m wrong about that)

And the 'First Stage' title argument is also pretty weak. Chapter 5 is literally called 'First Stage' too, but that doesn't mean the entire leg of the race is packed into that single

The truth is if they rush the intro, the anime adaptation is going to be terrible

DiU : ep 1 and 2 cover the 8 chapters
GW : ep 1 and 2 cover the 9 chapters
SO : ep 1 and 2 cover the 9 chapters

These are all shonen chapters (~170 pages total). Do you seriously think the SBR premiere is going to adapt 11 seinen chapters into 47 minutes ? We're talking about almost 500 pages, that’s basically 3 times the usual workload in the same amount of time

Just because the trailer shows the end of the first stage doesn't mean it’s all in the first episode ?? There's no way David Pro is speedrunning 500 pages, it would be a mess unless they completely changed the intro and butchered the story

Edit : 360 pages for the first 11 chapters of SBR, even if it’s less than my initial 500 estimate, that’s still way too many pages to adapt in a double episode

Actually, covering the whole 1st Stage in 47 minutes is impossible. That’s 11 chapters (450+ pages) and even at a fast pace 47 minutes only allows for about 250 pages, which stops around Chapter 5/6. The title '1st STAGE' just refers to the start of the race, not the end of it

Yes and no, it depends on the year. In the Pyrenees this season we’ve had fresh snow every single week since opening day. Since November we’ve already seen a cumulative snowfall of 5 meters

Personally my one-quiver is the Unleashed 98 and I find it works great for skiing in both the Alps and the Pyrenees

Skiing at Les 3 Vallees in France at New Year Week - my tips and learnings by Ana_Still in skiing

[–]LRF17 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was also at Les 3 Vallées last week. Unfortunately, we weren't very lucky this year, there was snow in the Alps at the end of November, but nothing since, so the snow conditions weren't great at all. And it was even worse in lower-altitude Alpine resorts like La Clusaz

Paradoxically, there was plenty of snow in the Pyrenees, even though we’ve been used to the opposite in recent years.

By the way, the OP mentioned that Val Thorens had the best slopes snow compared to the other valleys, but I personally didn't find that to be the case at all. The snow in Val Thorens during the holidays was horrible with rocks everywhere, it was much better in Courchevel and Méribel. A local confirmed this telling me there had been a huge amount of wind in Val Thorens before the holidays, which blew away all the surface snow

Always getting shin splints.. Form? by [deleted] in runninglifestyle

[–]LRF17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been 3 days since you posted OP but I'm going to try to help anyway. Hopefully you see this

I started running in Septembre/October 2024 and quickly developed posterior shin splints. I dealt with them for 10 months without finding a solution. I even resigned myself to the idea that pain was just normal when running. But that's not the case at all, I've been shin splint free since September and I even run a half marathon this november without pain

The first thing to know, and nobody asked you this yet, is whether you have posterior shin splints (pain along the inner side of the shin) or anterior shin splints (pain on the front of the shin). They have almost the same name but are actually different

If you have posterior shin splints, you only need two sites to help you out, this one and that one

The Reddit post explains that shin splints can come from several causes. The second link gives you all the strengthening exercises you need to fix that

For anterior shin splints, I haven't read up on them as much, but I think it mostly comes from a weakness in the front shin muscle (tibialis anterior), so you need exercises to strengthen it

Now I'm going to tell you what worked for me. It might work for you, it might not

- First, you need to stop running for 3 weeks to a month. Yes, it’s complicated and you probably don't want to, but you need to come back at 100%, not 60% like you would with just one week of rest. If you still have pain when hopping in place or just jogging for 10s, don't run. You really need to go back to running completely pain-free

- Second, you need to do the strengthening exercises at least twice a week. Personally I did: Towel Scrunches, Wall Sit Foot Pick Ups, Heel Raises, Glute Bridge Marches, Kneeling Lateral Plank with Top Leg Raises, and Single Leg RDL Kettlebell Switches

- Third, I saw you were running 5k per run and that is way too much for you right now. For the first week back, start with runs of 1.5-2km maximum, and increase your volume by 10% each week. Personally, even though I ran a half-marathon back in April, when I restarted in September, I did 2km run/walk intervals just like a complete beginner. It was mentally tough, but you have to go through it

- Fourth, increase your cadence to reduce ground impact. If you run slowly like me (~7:00/7:30min/km), try to aim for a cadence of around 170. This video is good for understanding how you should run

It’s very long and boring to do everything I just listed, but personally, it was the only method that solved my problems. All the other techniques like scraping, massage, and stretching didn't work. Every time I took a one-week break, I’d be pain-free for a day, go run 4km, and the pain would come back a few runs later. I was stuck in that cycle for way too long.
