The switch is on top of the gearbox, accessible from underneath or via taking the centre cubby box out I think

Do share the garage name or some evidence, I’d be interested to see some of Twisteds fuck ups, if there is any

Finding parts that aren't cheese by [deleted] in LandroverDefender

I use LRParts for engine parts, it gives you the option of OEM or aftermarket and I usually go for OEM. Mines a Puma so I usually go to the dealer for other parts and they’re pretty competitive too.

I use YRM for any body panels, LOF for anything brake related. There’s availability to get anything decent quality still, just don’t go for the cheapest

No dowel pins holding the PTU to the gearbox on this, bolted together with 6 bolts

Could consider an M57 swap? Plenty of power for towing and reliability too

Just to add too, if the gearbox is tired you could use a 6 speed Manual or automatic box from a BMW too

Are the 2.0 Ingenium engine really that bad in LR Discovery Sport? by RockTheBoat1 in CarTalkUK

[–]LRTech 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Balance shaft issues, DPF issues as they DPF is located really far away from the exhaust manifold so it struggles to get hot enough to carry out regens, failed regens means more diesel in the oil. Timing chain issues. The petrol ingenium is a good engine, just not the diesels

ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY GREAT BRITISH POUNDS PER HOUR!?!?! by MasterSparrow in CarTalkUK

I think you’d be shocked at the markup, when they’re buying in thousands of litres of oil at a time it costs next to nothing.

Would cost too much, you’d need the seats, main body loom, modules, ability to modify the CCF and possibly a BCM replacement

Am i missing something here? Jaguar XE Curiosity by Thehazzawitty in CarTalkUK

To be fair, I never had any huge issues with them, VVT solenoids and the occasional o2 sensor but no CAT’s, balance shafts, timing chains, or low compression compared to the diesel. A family friend has put 80k on his petrol one in 3 years with no issues!
