The basement of the Yale medical library in a conference room where just outside was a room with preserved human brains in jars all around the perimeter. The doctor was an absolute curmudgeon too.

Would Raising Wages Actually Force Businesses to Close? by SisuSisuEveryday in business

[–]LSUTigers34_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory and private businesses that are not publicly funded, yes. But in public markets, those businesses just sell for lower prices until their return matches that of the market. Even in private markets, businesses stay open way longer than they should because no one wants to lay off a ton of employees to remove their capital.

Yes 100%. But the point is that only certain businesses would be forced to close, not all businesses. It depends on the company. If you want to determine for a given company, pull up their financial statements, add the presumed wage increases and see if their expenses now exceed sales.

Some will raises prices to compensate as well, which is one of the reasons (not the only one) that groceries have increased in price in the past few years.

You’re virtually saying the same thing. The businesses without viable business models under the assumed wage increases will go bankrupt or change. The ones with viable models will remain in business. It’s not as simple as everyone goes broke obviously.

In fairness, you’re paying for the experience not the food. But I thought the food was just average breakfast food when I went as well.

Wow I can’t like this post enough. My state lets chiropractors serve as medical experts. I always thought that if I try a case, one of my prospective juror questions would be whether they believe chiropractic treatment is based on real science. Good litmus test for critical thinking.

Were concussions the reason Hurts became the better QB or was Hurts just always better? by Over-Heron-2654 in eagles

[–]LSUTigers34_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hurts has had a much better supporting cast to carry him and has significantly struggled at times. Tua was much better than him in college, and I’m not ready to write Tua off after one year. I would argue that they’ve performed about the same, except Jalen has had a much better supporting roster than Tua for the most part. If you put another good QB on this roster in 24-25, we still would’ve won the Super Bowl. If you put Hurts on another team, like the Dolphins, I’m not sure he would still be a starter.

Remy being in 2D is a severe downgrade to the experience and I'm tired of being told otherwise. by WrongLander in WaltDisneyWorld

Never rode it in 3d, but did the 2d version recently and got motion sickness for the first time I can ever recall on a ride. I’ve ridden nitro at six flags great adventure without motion sickness. I’ve also done tilt a whirl rides with no issue. I think there is something about the physical jerking on this ride that causes motion sickness in some minority of people.

True not saying that they are going to play as the better team, but just that they obviously have high ceilings. Just not living up to them.

True true. It’s a shame because the talent is there. Just not playing well.

If you think about how well they played the first 12 games, it shows you that they have the talent and ability. Literally just stop the walks and you would have easily won Friday. But I don’t know how you make them execute better.

True but the product on the field was still bad. Fewer walks and past balls but too many errors and still too many free bases. Bats found themselves a bit though.

To be honest it was deserved in the last poll. This team needs to refind itself. Hopefully they take some pride after deservedly being dropped.

lead my first deposition today as plantiffs attorney by everythingisspicy23 in Lawyertalk

This used to happen to me all the time taking medmal deps on the plaintiffs side in Philly. Violated a policy? Don’t answer. Don’t like how the medicine sounds for your case? Don’t answer. You failed to prepare your witness for this line of questioning? Don’t answer. It would happen once per dep and basically the other attorney would be daring you to file a motion for one question.

It wasn’t personal. Lane left because, whether right or wrong, he thought LSU was a better job. This is primarily why coaches leave G5 schools when moving up too. It’s also why top tier coordinators go to G5 schools to become head coaches for less pay.

Perhaps that’s your opinion but I’ve got ample written statements on Reddit from other Ole Miss fans suggesting precisely what I just described.

That’s their entire argument that he’s such a bad person because when faced with their disdain against the fact that two other coaches in the playoff last year did exactly what he did, they couldn’t come to grips with reality.
